      @@damasturias I hate it when they don't give the important ingredients, because what is the point in watching it, then? That makes it clickbait as far as I'm concerned. About alcohol..did you know that you can mix water, yeast, and sugar together, and let it sit, covered for a week or two, till it smells like alcohol, then you can diztill it down..and get a fuel to use in emergency situations? I learned this yrs ago when playing with our water diztiller. You can tezt it as it is diztilling, by taking a drop or two every few minutes, in a metal spoon, holding it over the sink, and light it w a lighter. When it stops burning, stop collecting it.

    Zu: "Mini-Heizofen! *Unbegrenzte Energie* aus EISENSCHAUM und Blechdosen". Aha!

      @lmtn i am just marine engineer not scientist,but in greece we have some energy and money issues, so if this can work in a house is perfect,but I think that is better not to use with all windows closed ,you have to take fresh air,for little cold it is ok ,but for very low temperatures and bigger cans so for have more warm ,I think is dangerous ,but for a camp or out of house your idea is very usefull

    Excellent idea. The only thing is it produces lots of soot on the vessels. There should be some peforations are needed around the tin's bottom portion ( one inch above and 1/2" inch above one another with 3mm bit) so that the fresh air will pass through creating blue flame and the wood pieces will get combusted fully. Outer container should have a closed one at the bottom and the inner container should have 2mm perforation on all sides and should not be rested on the bottom container (means it should be a suspended type allowing around 1 " gap all around.) this setup will provide better combustion of the material put inside and blue flame will emenate.

      Definitely my comments will lead you to invent a new product. I used to convert the wick based kerosene stove when I was in virudhunagar district. I advice the stove manufacturer to go in for the kerosene holding container (instead of tin sheeted one) to aluminium container with which I made one. Also one more alteration I have suggested to raise the concentric ringed burner which was totally seated on the bottom of the wick holder and have a gap of 1" from the bottom so that the external air can enter freely enabling the stove to produce blue flame without any soot formation on the vessels.

      Exactly! Steel wool is a great alternative because it’s durable and can handle higher temperatures, unlike fiber wicks that wear out quickly. It also allows for a more consistent burn, making it a clever solution for long-lasting efficiency. Great observation, it really adds to the design!

This is a good tip, as step drills tend to make more precise errors and are less prone to failure than drilling directly with a larger bit. Thanks for the suggestion!

    • @rkyt2k24
      @rkyt2k24 23 години тому

      Yep and because the iron sponge glows, the underlying alcohol evaporates passing trough the mess of the glowing sponge, and thus keeps it glowing red hot (as long as there is alcohol underneath it ) the alcohol maintains a very long burning time, because it is not burned directly, you can compare to a old camping gas lamp, with the fabric sock ontop (if you know them..) hope this makes stuff clear. Anyway, if you attempt, be carefully not having leaks or flip over, you might turn yourself or surrounding into a blaze.

      Drop a slightly bigger can over it.

    With that weather, a fresnel lens would do better.. this only works in the cold.

    • @lmtn
      @lmtn  4 години тому

      You're right! A Fresnel lens is great for focusing sunlight, especially in hot weather. This heater might be more suited for cold conditions where concentrated heat is more effective.

    Welche Flüssigkeit ist aufgefüllt worden, das konnte ich nicht erkennen und sollte man besser einen feuerfesten Untersetzter benutzen?

      Danke für deine Frage! Die Flüssigkeit ist wahrscheinlich Altwasseröl oder ein ähnliches Heizöl. Und ja, ein feuerfester Untersetzer wäre eine gute Idee für zusätzliche Sicherheit.

    Schönes Video nur die Titelbeschreibung passt halt nicht ganz. Ach ja und zum Metallputzschwamm es geht auch feine Stahlwolle und etwas Öl. Aber bitte kommt mir hier keiner auf dumme Gedanken und mischt dem Ganzen noch Aluminiumstaub hinzu. Wäre absolut nicht zu empfehlen

    • @lmtn
      @lmtn  День тому

      Danke für den Hinweis! Feine Stahlwolle mit Öl ist eine gute Alternative. Aluminiumstaub wäre jedoch gefährlich und sollte auf keinen Fall hinzugefügt werden.
