I am glad to have the support. And hearing positive feedback. I know my videos aren't really polished or formatted well, but to achieve what I am wanting, it is not necessary. I have fun making the videos. And it helps me process my life and figure things out. Also, it helps me reach out and connect with other people. I can be myself on this platform, unlike how it feels that I can in my daily life.
Yay on your new door! Have they finished the detour yet? Although you’re probably right that some may click away because they aren’t used to the simplicity of format. For some their brains have been desensitized to the point they can’t enjoy something that isn’t bombastic, speedy, and shocking. For others it’s precisely that honesty in real time with no frills is just our speed. Anyway, this video underlines how much fortitude it takes, mostly strength of mind, in order to quit a deeply ingrained habit, especially habits that sometimes “travel” together. It sounds like you had to do a system override when tempted with that last cigarette in the car that day. I can see how the idea of having to go through quitting all over again would be a fabulous deterrent. I find Sugar to be my false friend that I need to see less of… I know this is a few years passed but Congratulations on your accomplishments!
Link is to a video of me walking along the newly constructed street that they have been working on for close to two years. I saw your message and thought it is easier to just show. ua-cam.com/users/shortsEjJQWvB6hlg The work crew was out today sweeping and leaf blowing, looking like they are just about finally done. Some of the cross streets that had been closed this whole time are opening up. And thank you for your words. Very generous and kind. From the behind the scenes angle, within the dataset from average viewer attention span or average watch time before clicking away, my Shorts tend to get between 12-18 seconds. If even one-quarter of the people who view watch the entire 60 second Short, then that "for me" means I did something that caught people's attention better than usual. Usually, it more like 10% of viewers actually stay to watch the whole 60 seconds. As you mentioned, I don't cater to the shock and awe audience. I have difficulty framing my thoughts in such a limited window. I think I have gotten better at brevity, but there are some pieces that I just know the vast majority of people won't like. Mostly, I imagine because I am not speaking to them, I am not deliberately trying to entertain, educate, or enlighten. I am usually just telling myself what's up with me. Creating an archive. If people do get something out of it, relate to whatever it is, or connect with it, then that is just bonus. I am currently working on cutting way back on my caffeine intake, and am becoming more aware of my sugar consumption. So far, just not taking snacks into work with me everyday. And not making a pot of coffee everyday. Just those two actions, feels like a significant change in my diet. I still have snacks, and still enjoy coffee, but I figure I really didn't need to tempt myself by having them easily available everywhere I go. Thank you again, it is nice to exchange words and develop some rapport. Very cool. I like it. @@Tsianinaful1
@@Verge25 I was unaware you could get watch-time info behind the scenes, must be interesting to have that knowledge even if the primary reason for posting’s not just pleasing others. As you’ve touched on sometimes saying a thought aloud can be revealing to oneself. I’ve said before that modern life has many too busy to even think things through before acting. It’s difficult to make good decisions for yourself without that prior thought although I’m not certain whether that has much to do with what you’ve created here on your channel. I think I’ve just gone off on a tangent more than anything! Anyway your creating an archive allows you to look back if you wish and perhaps learn more about yourself or just have the satisfaction of knowing it is there. I had begun reading your comment before work earlier right as I breezed through a mom and pop coffee drive-thru. It kind of made me laugh that right as I took the first sip of a sweet chocolate coffee drink I’d ordered I read the part where you mentioned both sugar and coffee as things you were reigning in:) The funny thing is I almost never have sweetened coffee. I have whittled my coffee consumption to about 2 cups a day(I also used to make an entire pot and drink it through the day) but still working on finding a solution for my consumption of overt sugars. I do well some days, give in Sometimes, but never give up. A common struggle It seems… Thanks for your words as well
One of the motivating forces for me is about simplification. Reducing the number of things that I need to actively keep track of or then need to see about the upkeep and maintenance of. If I don't really need it or aren't getting much out it, then maybe I can let it go. Or change my habits or practices. My personal rituals can be amended to better suit new attitudes and lifestyles. Whether for health, for time, for finances, for environmental, for ethical reasons even. I am not depriving myself of anything that I actually could use or really want. Just re-allocating my resources of attention. Like streamlining my life a bit. But in a arbitrary, flexible, non-binding fashion. I can do whatever I like, as long as I am okay with the consequences. Because I am the only one who has to live with me all the time. I am around me everywhere I go. :) I will continue to be re-evaluating my coffee intake and sugar consumption. I have no plans or desire to eliminate either, just to give some more consideration to it, instead of just assuming that it is something I need to function like myself or to feel good. Cool story with getting coffee while getting to my talking exactly about that. A bit 'on the nose'. :) @@Tsianinaful1
I’ve been wanting to hear this story. I’m a driver so I will watch between rides. Thank you for your video…
