Remembering that Jesus had friends who struggled with day to day life resonates with me. This series has blessed so many already; please keep making them!
This show helps me love Jesus more, not because He is the Jesus that gave a toy to Abigail or stopped Lilith from drinking, but because those scenes point to the Jesus that is in Scripture. I'm so grateful to you and everyone else who is making this show.
@Bill and Dallas. As I watch I remind myself that the man who plays JESUS is not JESUS. With that being said I too have discovered that by seeing on film the emotions (compassion, love, gentleness. etc...) of a man I can now read scripture with a picture in mind of what JESUS’ facial expressions would have been like. The Mary Magdalene scene tore me apart Dallas Jenkins in the very best way. I have watched it 3 times now and the deep weeping of joy is intense. I so look forward to seeing in person our LORD and SAVIOR and worship HIM in person.
Exactly he is the Jesus of true understanding and love. How can we not love someone who wants the very best for us. Jonathan has a way of making scripture leap off the pages in a visual way. The Chosen. artists are Rocking it for Jesus!
I just shed a few tears as I watched this, especially while Jenkins talks about actors crying while saying their lines even when the scene does not call for it and my soul witness' to how lucky the actors on this show are. I am shedding tears here on youtube, so of course, the actors cry when acting out scenes of the life and times of our Saviour and that of those whose lives he directly touched. We cry because we somehow, inexplicably, know its real. The wonder of the unseen, the beauty of relentless salvation and the calm of truth. It shifts me every time.
@Dallas Jenkins THANK YOU Dallas and team. THANK YOU. Binged on all 8 repeatedly. The physician (hematologist... blood specialist) in me wants to share a few things... 1. For future leper scenes pls show the resorbed fingers/digits, nose not just scars. It will show deeply the revulsion people had in those days and highlight even more how Jesus readily included and embraced them as His own. 2. Pls show HEMATRIDOSIS in Gethsemane (rare but real phenomenon described in medical literature) 3. Pls make the crucifixion anatomically correct... the Shroud of Turin wud be the best guide. Thank you again for this precious project.
Why are we moved by emotion for a made up show? Gods word is pure and moving on its own. Dallas adds his spin on The Truth… what’s moving about that? What’s real about pieces of truth?
My favorite scene that doesn’t have to do with scripture is when Abigail and Joshua are hiding behind the rock as Jesus prays. So funny, cute and wholesome.
Satan only messes with people he is afraid of.... The portrayal of Mary Magdalene as a prostitute began in 591 when the Catholic Pope Gregory I - conflated Mary Magdalene who was introduced in Luke 8:2, with Mary of Bethany in Luck 10:39 and the unnamed supposedly "sinful woman" who anointed Jesus' feet in Luke 7:36-50. Where Pope Gregory l - held up Mary Magdalene as an exemplar of repentance, humility and devotion. And a symbol of hope for (to make her more relatable, to his congregation). Though his facts weren't accurate, he wasn't trying to destroy Mary Magdalene, but to praise her. Never the less, it tainted Mary Magdalene and wrongly labeled her a whore. Now Mary Magdalene is considered to be a Saint by the Catholic Church. When 2016 Pope Francis raised the level of litiguricle memory of Mary Magdalene on her Feast Day July 22 - And for Mary Magdalene to be referred to as The Apostles to the Apostles.
@@TheChosenSeries Thanks for portraying, a down to earth Jesus :) If you do an internet search for - "The Gnostic Gospel of Mary Magdalene, by James Bean - you will find a picture of an Ancient Tile Mosiac of BOTH Mary Magdalene and Jesus, encircled by Twelve Apostles. That was found in, a 6th Century Monastery in Israel. And that has similarities to America's Statue of Liberty 🗽. (Added to Pope Francis calling Mary Magdalene - The Apostle to the Apostles in 2016 & cleaning her good name) The similarities to America's Statue of Liberty 🗽 includes.... All three are holding Torches 🔦 - Mary Magdalene's Cresent Moon Crown 🌙 Laid Down on The Statue of Liberty - with Jesus' 7 Ray of the Sun Crown ☀️ On top of it. (7 Rays = 7 Trumpets 7 Scrolls 7 Angels and so forth written about in Revelation). And while Jesus is made out of mostly Colorful Tiles - Mary Magdalene is made out of mostly Blue and Green Tiles. While The Statue of Liberty 🗽is made out of Copper that turns Blue Green as it ages. With both Copper and Female using the same symbol ♀️ of a Circle representing Heaven over a Crucifix or Cross - that also represents the Four Corners of the Earth. With Copper being similar in spelling to the name Cooper meaning Wooden Cup Chalice 🏆 with references to The Carpenter's Son Jesus and The Holy Grail. With even Ellis meaning - The Lord is our God - for the Island 🗽 stands on. Keep up the good work, and making Jesus and everyone relatable ⚜️
I like the scene of Nathanael under the fig tree. The Bible doesn't really say what Nathanael saw or what happened but I love how The Chosen attempts to give some context to it and it's beautiful.
Never explain yourself, Your friends do not need an explanation and your enemies will not believe you anyway, no matter what you say. By the way, I love The Chosen, keep it going.
It's important to be transparent about what we're doing. Sure, some will still not agree, but that's ok. We have nothing hide. Thanks for the support, Bruce!
When you are in counsel, with a priest, rabi, evangelical and praying seeking the Lords guidance by revelation! This show is amazing and whoever has eyes to see will see and feel the love of the Savior. Thank you for all you are doing! Keep it up! If everything Christ did or will do was written, there would not be room to store it all. He is still writing out life stories, we are His living proof, I write my in my Journal to me and my family it is scripture.
Catholics aren't even Christian, let alone the Jews who deny Jesus as the messiah. I understand the rabbi is messianic/believes in Jesus. The moment i saw the satanic priest, I questioned everything this show is doing... Maybe that's just me, but i don't dabble with compromise.
@@ReadyToFly24 My dear Christian friend. God will be the judge. In the meantime please head to the words of our Savior. By the way I'm not Catholic but my grandma is and her example of a person is the reason I was brought to Jesus Christ. So before you take flight please heed to Christs teachings in Mark 9 38 ¶ And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbade him, because he followeth not us. 39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. 40 For he that is not against us is on our part. 41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not alose his reward. 42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

You clearly lack discernment
@@gigiis526 unfortunately you have used your judgement to condemn when all I'm saying is what Jesus Christ said. I just watched all episodes last week and I thought it was the best portrayal of Jesus. I love the humanness of Jesus and the real personalities Dallas gave the characters. I will never read the gospel the same. Thank you.
Exactly, As it was said in the Pilot so Well... "People Must Know!!!" #BingeJesus -- www.thechosen.tv DOWNLOAD THE APP TO WATCH EPISODES 1 - 4 for FREE!!!
I can see the struggle however it doesn't change what the Bible says. We can make assumptions about what we think happened in what isn't said as long as we know it's an assumption. I love that your shows has the disclaimer too and people need to read their Bibles regardless. I love The Chosen!!
@@sheridan1887 Thankfully this group puts a disclaimer at the beginning of every episode that they took some creative license. If people want to ignore that and not read their own Bible, that's on them at that point.
@@Kiki-fe2le how is anything God glorifying if it is taking creative license with the word of God? I do agree that people need to read the Bible for themselves and know the Lord Jesus Christ for themselves.
@@sheridan1887 Thankfully God knows the intention of all of their hearts. The show points us to scripture. The details they extrapolate are based on history, and what we already know from the Bible. It isn't changing scripture in any way but supporting it. I'm not sure what's difficult to see with that. Thankfully if you don't like it, you don't have to watch it and instead you are free to pray that God reveal his will over the show to the director.
Thank you for recording this interview with Liz Tabish. What she said about identifying with Lilith/Mary (@ 17:16 on) as being a person "who was ignored or dismissed, and treated like trash"... and "for Jesus to see right into her heart and know what she is capable of" really hit home with me - and brought tears to my eyes and instant prayer for my niece who hates life, wants to die, is treated by others like this... she just needs to accept JESUS and let Him give her life, and have it more abundantly! (John 10:10)
“This is real...this is shifting something, this is changing our current reality...” Yes! As you pray these prayers, as you speak these lines, as people watch what God has created in and through all of you, it is indeed having an impact on our reality...in the spiritual realm and in the physical. Praying again for strong protection around all of you because you are advancing the Kingdom of God here on Earth. ❤️🙏🏻✝️🎉⚔️🛡
Seriously?? Heretic? Blaspheming? Oh my goodness. So sad. Folks who believe that are so missing out on a huge blessing from Jesus Himself. Personally, I am a huge Jesus Groupie!! And I love most any movie made about my Beloved, though I do have my favorites. The Chosen is THE BEST by far!!!!! Thank you so much, Dallas, for loving Jesus and Scripture to the point of making these shows!! Common sense tells me that a movie script is not Scripture. I classify these shows as Fan Fiction. Fan fiction takes a particular book or movie and expounds upon the core story; filling in the empty spots, so to speak, using the characters already available. John, the beloved Disciple, even wrote that Jesus did so many other things that, if written in books, the world could not contain them all. God bless!🐠🐠🐠
Beautiful interview. Mary Magdalene was one of my favorites as a young adult, but I never thought about all the pain she endured. Even as my heart breaks for all she likely endured, I now love her even more and pray my own devotion to Jesus grows some small percentage of hers. In JMJ.
ONE MORE THOUGHT... Mary Magdalene was the first to preach the gospel. From the interaction at the tomb she began to share....Dallas you have chosen well, this character is well played and super relatable by women like me who have been redeemed from similar circumstances. My hats off!!
I love watching The Chosen... over and over and over again. I have found no contradiction. Uplifting, heart felt faithful series. 💓 Has given my faith/life a huge needed nudge. Thankyou...
The CHOSEN is best show ever...I am in love with the CHOSEN...while watching the show I can literally see the emotions that MY JESUS HAD towards me...huge respect and huge love...keep going
"Who doesn't love a good story of Redemption?!" @7:03 You guys rockin' Redemption! Highly Relatable Redemption!! "Mary! Mary of Magdala. Fear not. I have redeemed you. I have called you by name. You. Are. Mine!"
This series is something truly special. My wife found The Chosen on a facebook advert and we downloaded the app and watched one episode and was hooked! I bought season 1🎬 and my wife was going to buy season 2🎬🎬 but it isn't out yet😥 We are both praying🙏🏿🙏🏻 for you and the whole team who have done a truly incredible job🏆👏👏👏 I watch a lot of film and have often lamented how few Christian productions are made to a stellar quality but this is so many times better!
Liz does an amazing job portraying Mary Magdeline. All the actors portray their characters this way. So real. So beautiful. My faith has been fired up all over again.
The Book of Revelation says not to add to scripture referring to those who copy scrolls for future generations. The Chosen is not a scroll nor does it claim to be. The series uses artistic expression to convey ideas. This is called artistic license. The film, as a piece of art, use backgrounders stories to convey meaning. The figures always remain in character, i.e. Simon behaves in a "Simon like way" based on what we know from hm in scripture and what would be typical interaction between brothers, Andrew/Simon. God's love comes through in the episodes. I and my friends are more than impressed with the script and superb acting. We feel like we can relate to God on a deeper level. Thank you again for this gift to the world.
Great interview! This is my favorite depiction of Mary Magdalene. Liz Tabish is awesome! As far as the scripture issue, I think the opening text says it all. People are encouraged to read their Bible. In Bible studies and theology classes I've been in, people often wonder about what Jesus would have said if... or what would have happened if... It's human nature and it will never change Scripture. I don't see why people would object to it in a TV show. You're all doing a great job! Praying for you!
Well said Dallas! Such an amazing show. I love the Bible and have seen nothing out of line to scripture. You have made it clear this is a series that honors God and Jesus and every effort has been made to insure that. Well done! Looking forward to seasons and episodes to come!!
When I was growing up, I got a lot more out of movies like _The Ten Commandments_ and _Jesus of Nazareth_ than I did sermons, even though those shows weren’t totally accurate, and the Holy Spirit certainly uses your show just like those to spread the gospel.
I started to watch the first one but didn't think I would like it because if it's not right on Biblically I wouldn't like it. I was right. I didn't even get half way through and turned it off. Two weeks later a Christian friend asked me to please watch it. She said, "I have never begged you to watch anything, but please watch this movie. So I found the Live Stream, which I am glad I did because Dallas explained it in the beginning which made all the difference. I decided to give it another try, being open minded and see the characters in a way I could relate. I have watched every Season and episode so far! The emotions of Jesus and the actors portraying these characters speak volumes more than mere words. It is so moving. I love it.😊 Thank you.
When I saw the first episode of the chosen( the Pilot ) I was extremely moved with so many emotions... But then I had snap back to reality of Sola scriptura... The cry on which so many saints were burned at the stake for. So on that note I was considering chosen to be put in a (not heretical) but definitely extra biblical literature category... which I still hope one day people don't teach or preach from watching these episodes. Cause visualizing your saviour physically does take one through an emotional rollercoaster . That is my fear for chosen. But coming to the present after having watched all the episodes. I understand how this can be used to reach a huge segment of individuals who are so much into GoT, etc and a segment of youngsters who just don't open their bible... And how this can be used as evangelistic material to help souls come to spiritual understanding after looking at physical potrayals of the stories Jesus in the Bible. So God alone knows the future for this show and how its going to play a part of these end times. And I strongly believe the parable of the fishing net, that God at the end will judge and sort the fish. So why not give the call to all, by all means possible. Glory to God alone in the highest.
This show has brought me closer to God. I used to pray every so often. I was raised in the church. But.... now, I pray every day, often several times a day. It's because you've brought so much life to them and I never really "thought" how they might have been and it's made the disciples human to me. The portrayal of Jesus is wonderful. Thank you so much.
The proficiency in how the characters have been developed has been both masterfully artistic, and movingly inspirational. Each episode creates an intrinsic desire to want to know them better, and to be able to relate to them more. Paras portrays a Matthew I could never quite relate to. Liz portrays a Mary Magdalene I never previously quite understood. Jonathan portrays the Jesus that I have long past come to love and adore. Each respective actor brings these same qualities to their respective character in much the same way. Erick, Shahar, Noah, Kian, Brandon, et. al. ...are so AMAZING!!!. I feel like I owe them, the director, the writers and entire film crew so much personal appreciation that I can't even begin to express. Herein lies the awesomeness of this production....which is how it all so intrinsically touches its audience. VERY SINCERELY....THANK YOU ALL!!!
The problem is people think it is straight out of the Bible. I just finished teaching a study group and a woman in the group was reflecting on Nicodemus trying to deliver Mary from demon possession. In episode 1, Nicodemus tries and fails to heal a woman possessed by demons. Here in episode 2, he pursues her for answers when he hears she's been healed. So the women in my group think that it is what the Bible teaches...that is from the scriptures and believed that is how it happens. This is the danger of adding to God's word and trying to tell the story with human wisdom. The Word of God is living and we don't need to alter it.
It’s funny a lot of the things that I’ve watched so far have been scenes that I imagined in my mind while reading scripture. May God continue to protect and bless you because of the work you’re doing on the chosen!
As beautiful and anointed as The Chosen has proven to be in the first 4 episodes, those who have been following closely know that something powerful is unfolding and it is not only the production. The way you share your heart for the Lord, your commitment to honoring Him in this production, the incredible amount of time you spend shepherding your supporters and fans is something extraordinary. God is using you mightily for more than any of us can even understand, and it is spilling over onto your beautiful actors and every person who is involved in your production and everyone of us who is blessed to be a fan. I feel like we are all a part of watching this amazing gift from God unfold. It is exciting and mysterious and wondrous. Bless you for giving us the gift of your time and your consideration, and your love. Thank you for your obedience to God and patience with all the struggles ,and your forgiveness of the people who hurt and question your heart and service to God. You have so many people who are grateful to you because we know that God is using you to Glorify Him to this generation.
Let me first say I am a True Believer in Christ JESUS, I Believe Every Word the Bible says But this is a Movie to inspire people to read their Bible more and to get closer to their Savior. That’s it . And out of all the Christian Movies I’ve seen, this is the one that have touched me the Most. I haven’t seen the 2nd season yet But the first season was Awesome !!!!!!! I haven’t cried so much in years. I truly Love you guys for playing your part to the very intense.🙏🙌🏽❤️
I’ve watched episodes 1 through 4 and all of these UA-cam videos and can say that as many will embrace this inspiring work, others will attack it in a pharisaical manner. There are many “religious” legalistic people who look for evil and negativity in everything if it doesn’t represent the Bible word for word. Their minds and hearts are clouded with self righteousness and hypocrisy where they actually miss what God might be trying to inspire or teach them. They are like the Pharisees of ancient times. There is a lot that isn’t documented in scripture that captures the ancient cultures, how they spoke to one another, what their personalities were like, basically all of their human interactions with one another. I think every Christian film maker has to carefully fill in these missing pieces without missing the purpose and meaning of God’s word. You’ve achieved this through humility and discernment.
Pharisees didn't adhere to the word of God but rather their own traditions, so being self righteous meaning righteous by their own standard not God's ,so someone who critiques the show for not adhereing to word of God , and apply the standard of the word of God to the show is now a Pharisee??? I don't see the comparison, we should be testing everything to the word of God, making sure it's righteous by the word of God, not applying it to our own traditions or culture , therefore being self righteous. You are making a very self righteous judgement right now, and it's hypocritical that you are calling out self righteous judgements when you are making them
@Dallas Jenkins you say "the pharisees were adhering to the word of God"?? The Pharisees did NOT adhere to the word of God. Jesus says in mark7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men. Later in verse 9 he says All too well you [e]reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition Pharisees did NOTadhere to the word of God but rather their own traditions. You can't be making a show about Jesus and be so biblically illterate It's an oxymoron to adhere to the word of God the" wrong way". Adhering to the word of God is ALWAYS right. They were hypocrites because they claimed to adhere to God words but they adhered to their own traditions instead. If you are making a show that DOESNT adhere perfectly to the word of God, you are being a Pharisee.( I don't expect a reply)
missinsanelogic According to Webster’s dictionary, the second meaning of Pharisee is “a pharisaical person” which means a hypocritical and self righteous person. I don’t see Dallas or this series as either. Yes, the ancient Pharisees relied on traditions and couldn’t obey the law as they too were sinners. They misunderstood what God wanted from them - to seek him out with their whole heart. They missed who Jesus really was because of their self righteousness and hypocrisy. This angered Jesus. He called them vipers and blind guides because of this. Jesus teachings were about the spirit of the law - the fulfillment of the law. The Pharisees were hardened in their hearts and tried to deceive and trap Jesus in everything he taught and did. They were nit picky about everything he and his disciples did. If they did something that they deemed was against the law, they rebuked them. This is how pharisaical Christians are. If something they read or see isn’t word-for-word from God’s law, they nitpick and rebuke it without actually discerning if it is truly from God. God can work in many different ways to bring people closer to him and to help them get into reading His word. Jesus reached out to sinners by eating with them and spending time with them. He shared his whole heart with humanity. This show portrays that in a creative, well researched, and thought out manner. It clearly depicts God’s great concern for everyone by portraying his love, patience, gentleness, kindness, meekness, humanity, authority, power, and humility. If you discern that watching this series is against scripture and is wrong and goes against your own conscience then don’t watch it. But please don’t call those who are encouraged by watching it as hypocrites and self righteous Pharisees. God knows everyone’s heart and knows those who are truly seeking him.
RollerCoasterLisa -Amen to that. They remind me of the Pharisees objecting to Jesus healing people on the Sabbath. HEALING PEOPLE!!! No wonder Jesus was so exasperated and angry with them at times. The Chosen is accomplishing a kind of spiritual healing and is drawing people closer to Jesus, but the critics must nitpick over this line or that line, or the style of language used, or the “adding to Scripture” when it makes no claim to be Scripture or to replace it. They come across as uncharitable, unloving people. I was an atheist for 25 years. I guarantee you, that type of Christian would have driven me even further from the faith.
I have always loved watching Bible retellings. But this is hands down the number one retelling that I have been on the edge of my seat, excited and in suspense, even though I know what’s going to happen. I am amazed at how well you built up the characters and reimagined their backstories. It draws you right into the story and puts you in their shoes, which I think is so important. Also, Elizabeth is 100% the way I have always wanted to see Mary Magdalene portrayed.
I cannot express strongly enough how much these shows have enriched and deepened my spiritual life. I know Jesus more intimately today than I ever have and it's thanks to these stories. Being able to relate to the people Jesus chose and influenced has done nothing but enhance my understanding of and love for Jesus himself. God gave each of us an imagination and I believe he is glorified when it is put to good use, whether it's in the arts in general or in something like The Chosen. Dallas has used his gift to spread the word and love of Jesus and may he continue to do so for many years to come!
AMEN to that... I make that prayer almost daily when I watch something about the chosen... It truly is incredible what they have done with this show... #BingeJesus -- www.thechosen.tv
I wholeheartedly recommended this program on Facebook over and over again. If the devil trys to stop you, you're doing it right. So many thanks and prayers to all of you.
The first episode was very personal to me, the pain, anguish, despair, desperately trying to reach out to God only to be dragged down into a pit over and over. I sobbed with Lilith my heart ached. Then Jesus came in and told her that (drink) wasn’t for her and then called her by name and when He touched her face and they embraced I sobbed again but in sweet relief because I felt Him hug me too for the first time, I felt He was telling me or visibly showing me that He knows and and that He hasn’t forgotten me. Thank you Jesus, thank you 🙏🏻
From the beginning I felt the Lord telling me to support and pray for this show. Like Dallas I have been a believer for many years. I have been on the board of a church, very "Religious" and judgemental to now being a simple man living a grace filled, peaceful life. Now I teach God's Word at a ranch with men, women and their kids that had have made mistakes, many have been been abused, many have been to prison. You can see them light up as they see the love Jesus has for them. I fell in love with Liz during episode 1. God definitely had her picked out for a long time. She hits it on the head when she says women (Everyone Really) are often judged, almost condemned by this worlds society by the mistakes (sin) they have made. I, like so many of us, have felt much of what Liz describes. BUT then there is Jesus! Then there is grace, His unfailing love. As our minds are renewed and our belief and trust grows amazing things happen. The Chosen is doing that in heart & minds everywhere it goes. Putting a human touch to the scriptures that is excellent. Glory to God the whole team is doing an excellent work. Be encouraged! Keep it up!
I so loved the first episode. I think it is my favorite so far. The heart in it was so beautifully written and portrayed. Very powerful. Thank you so much for all your efforts to create a way for people to understand that GOD'S WORD is just as powerful today as it was then. We are all sinners needing a SAVIOR.
Same. PRAYING that the entire cast and crew believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Please surrender your lives and receive The Holy Spirit. We must be Born Again! Love in Messiah Yeshua! Until the Whole World Hears !
The only real "down" I felt during the first season, but that really bothered me, was the scene at the wedding, in the end, when Jesus and Peter were joking about Andrews dancing, and Peter asked Jesus if he could make Andrew a better dancer, and you guys made Jesus say "There are some things that even I can't do"... ahm.. ye.. I really loved the show, but this one scene, this one sentence, was really bothering.. Jesus is God. Omnipotent. I know it was meant as a joke, but still.. it's something He would never, ever, say. I humbly and lovingly ask for you guys to be more careful about Jesus' deity in the next seasons.
I was very blessed after watching the first few episodes of The Chosen. Thank you so much. It makes me think more about how Jesus really was among His disciples! May the Lord bless your work and continue to provide your every need for season 2. I’m sure you will reach many lost souls through this. Well done 👍🏻
The fact that there is criticism and scrutiny tells me that you are right in the middle of God's will. God bless The Chosen!! May it bring many closer to God and bring Him the glory and honor He deserves!!
Guys, I love "The Chosen." One of the things that brought me on board right away was your treatment of Mary Magdeline's demon possession. With no mention of mental illness in the Bible, tracing her experience of being demonized to a traumatic experience, and contrasting exorcism with Christ's loving cure, was profound (for personal family-related reasons and theological ones). I've been in arguments with people about this issue countless times. I'd love to hear more in your deep dives or right here on the implications of the fact that "demon possession" is not a word in Greek, but is the past participle "demonized." I didn't know that before your deep-dive discussion. It seems to have a ton of implications for how we think about demon "possession" and mental illness. More please, if you can.
REJOICE!! PERSECUTION.... A sure sign you are doing something right!! Jesus in me is very proud of you Dallas...Jesus in me loves what you are doing. I have not had ONE caution or red flag from The Chosen. I believe the Lord has his hand on you and this project. REJOICE
@@TheChosenSeries If you get a chance, check out messianic rabbi Zev Porat on UA-cam. He's a strong evangelical witness to Israelis. He says the rabbis know, and have always known, that Jesus is the Messiah. When the truth is shown to them in Isaiah, they can't deny it. As to the question, are the Pharisees bad guys, I believe they are blinded by pride. Rabbi Zev says many people in Israel are getting saved. So, there is still hope for the spiritually blind! I'm hoping that eventually the production will go into Jesus's confrontation with the Pharisees and the Sadusees. I realize that Jesus is angry with them because of their hypocrisy, yet He still loves them. What an amazing love that He has for them! Which reminds me of His love for me in spite of my hypocrisy, as we all are. What a wonderful Savior! 💟🙏😊👏👏 Keep up the great work, Dallas and staff!! 👍
Beautiful job, Dallas and Liz! I totally agree with all the heart-felt sentiments you shared in this blog! As I've shared before, this series, has opened my heart to the passion and emotions of so many of the Biblical characters. The Bible just couldn't have contained all of that info; but it shows how Jesus totally accepts and transforms lives of those He knows will surrender to Him, live for Him and serve Him. Keep on with these beautiful portrayals and know that I, for one, am so grateful and appreciative of all your hard work. Jesus told us that if the world persecuted Him, then we can expect the same when we truly love Him and serve Him! God bless all of you!
I find myself reading the bible more because of this series. Only this time, things that I normally would skim pass, I take the time to absorb it more. Especially the names...You have done an incredible job with this project. You have made Jesus so relatable and yet, you know he is God. You never lose that sense of God with him. The cast is wonderful. The story, everything is just great. And my little girls love the music, lol! I am pursuing God more. I have honestly binged Jesus (more bible reading, church, The Chosen). And it feels normal. Thank you for this...
My pastor is a Baptist pastor from Scotland, Bible-only KJV guy, teaches and preaches the truth only, knows his stuff and has Holy Spirit anointing, and we the church members encouraged him to watch the Chosen, and he was first weary, thinking it's just another Hollywood presentation, which he doesn't like, then he somehow went and watched it and was amazed and stated that the Chosen guy did an excellent job.
There are religious a-holes in Christianity, not unlike the pharisees. You are adding DEPTH to the story & filling in some details of the talk & interactions the surely took place. You are doing the context & lead up to the biblical accounts that help the bible to make more sense. It's wonderful what you're doing, & I believe you are doing God's work.
Dallas, don't listen to these people! What they are so foolish to say is that you are telling a story! You're not trying to reinterpret scriptures. Continue with your honest and beautiful story for it's a beautiful portrayal of these stories and scriptures.
You just keep obeying the Lord my brother. Y'all are doing great in the portrayal of Jesus and his disciples. If I wasn't already following the Lord I would be since watching your show, you will be pulling plenty of people to Christ with your good works. Rock On Jesus!!!
Liz is such a sweetheart. She is the perfect person for this very important role. She is right about the writing being central to everything - and it has been excellent - but her ability to connect to the emotions latent in it has been extraordinary and brilliant. As for the "plausible" additions to the Scriptural narrative, I think the key was intentionally given in episode 4, when Jesus quotes the parable of the properly trained scribe of the kingdom being like a householder who takes out of his store something old and something new. AFAIC, the scripture comes to life when we see it in real life terms and are able to relate it as such to ourselves.
I am crying just listening to this interview! Beautiful! I chose Saint Mary Magdalene as my Confirmation Saint because I also had a “before” and Jesus changed me into something new. So it is especially exciting for me to see Liz so perfectly portray this! Thank you so much! ❤️🙏❤️
Greetings Everyone.... I'm also a firm believer that the "Persecution" that is coming at the show only proves that this is inspired... The Evil one and his minions are realizing that this is special, and they are going to try very hard to break it down, and stop it's completion. This is one reason that I love this show sooooo much, is because the proof is in the negativity that is being shown by those who Don't want to believe, or know the truth, and are working against it. For me, I get encouraged when someone attempts to tell me I'm crazy, or silly for believing in this show... To me.. Bring it... I'm Protected by the Most High.... Only HE will decide when my time is complete, so I have nothing to fear, for when I leave this world, I will be with him for eternity. There is a big big big difference between persecution and criticism. If people were abusing his rights as a human , like hurting him, destroying his property, denying the same rights afforded to everyone, THAT is persecution!!! But critiques that it's against scripture is not persecution, if someone calls me a hater because I'm a Christian, that is a critiques it's whatever, but if they hurt me or steal something that is presection, please stop saying anything that disagrees is persecution, it is an insult to my brothers who are actually getting persecuted
@@gigiis526 dude, which part is so. Hard to understand, this is not scripture, nor is it intended to be. It is a TV show, made by flawed humans to the best of their ability, to help glorify our mutual Lord and savior. You want scripture, go read it. This is a form of entertainment. How many times do you go to some Network TV show site and complained about it's biblical accuracy, what none, hmm so why do it here. Your logic is flawed, and The Chosen, cast and crew do not deserve your criticism for something they have never said they were doing.
@Dallas Jenkins I can agree with that, might not have been the best word to describe my meaning. Language has never been my strong suit, I'm more a mathematition.
I so enjoyed this series, I wish I could get the whole thing soon. My favorite scene is when Jesus and NIcodemus are talking, yeah, John 3:16-17, but then He said 18! THANK YOU! BTW, episode 1 absolutely blew me away.
My bestfriend was a prostitute who was run over and killed in the early morning a few days before thanksgiving 2 years ago. Anyone that didn't know her would 've thought she was a waste of life and trash because of her lifestyle but she was in fact the most generous, nonjudgemental, forgiving person anyone could ever know. Before she died she told me that Jesus loved her so much and she talked to him all the time. No matter what she did she knew that with all of her heart. With all of the sextual molestation and rapes she went through as a child and hardship she endorsed in her life she was never angry with God. Infact she was extemly thankful for his endless love and protection. In the end she was taken home and all of her suffing was over. She knew her life was coming to an end very soon and didn't want to die but I believe in my heart that like a child she was held by her father in heaven and loved in a way the world could never do.
Sir, you have done a great work that does not replace scripture. Your team obviously have been led by the Holy Spirt. Keep it in your hearts as you continue on. Your religious historians help keep you on the right path. Be blessed, the explanations help and actually presents that your trying to be biblical correct.
Liz Tabish, I believe, was the last main actor cast in The Chosen. Dallas said that God pressed on him the importance of this role- that he had to get Mary Magdalene right. Oh did he get it right! Liz was focused on producing and had decided to not pursue acting anymore, but her agent submitted her for this audition as the deadline for casting was drawing near. Liz read the part and felt that she was made for this role, then auditioned and indeed got the role of Mary, that was waiting for her! Such an impact she has made in her portrayal of this broken woman who was redeemed by her Savior. Her acting is phenomenal and her interview in this video is so beautiful. Liz experienced the transformative power of Jesus’ love in her character but her joy in this role snd her understanding of the importance of her role, as it impacts so many in their faith, and even healing, seems to be making her a powerful spokesperson for the project. Such a poignant interview. So thankful for her passion for her role and for her investment into this project as she shares her insights and story with the world. So looking forward to see more of her in the upcoming episodes!
This is awesome. And it's a really special treat seeing Liz Tabisch talking about her role and her portrayal, which is so incredible and so pivotal to everything else working. She is such a delight to watch. I really believe she gets it.
Ugh. How many church plays, dramas etc have so many of us been a part of, from a young age even, that did not have added dialogue, background stories, etc? Come on people. Anyway, The Chosen is anointed in every way and has already proven to be "for such a time of this." 👐👐👐🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤
Love is love, and that’s what you feel when watching this series. Keep doing what you are doing. The Lord knows all of our intentions, I know you are not offending Him. Bless You
The Chosen seeks to create a time line for the events of the Gospels as well creating a human side of the characters portrayed in the Gospels. They've done this beautifully while preserving biblical accuracy. If you've ever watched NBC's Noah or the Last Temptation of Christ, then you have a strong idea of what heresy and blasphemy really is
You are touching so many lives with a beautiful story of Jesus and the messages the scriptures give us. Don't seek approval from men but from God. Keep shining and let the holy Spirit continue to guide you. God bless.
So long as you purpose in your heart to reach out and touch this hurting world with the hope of the gospel, you are in Gods perfect will. My prayers and best wishes, Shalom.
Brother Dallas; be led by the Holy Spirit and not by man opinion: you do what is right by God's grace, we love you very, very much!!! Thank you for the chosen, I see the Bible much clear and open then I ever did. Love you and your family.
Thank you Sooooo much for this video it has given me more confidence to share this beautiful series. I have really enjoyed watching the chosen on the app multiple times (I paid it forward so I digitally own it) but when I tried telling older relatives about it they where unsure. Thank you for this video. May God bless you. Can't wait for season 2😀
I would like for Dallas to go into more detail about his quote on the LDS podcast: "we both love the same Jesus", especially in light of the fact they are providing the major funds for this project and being filmed on an LDS site.
I have prayed about this and God has revealed that stories of what happened in Jesus life was told to gatherers before it was written. As a result of this revelation I believe God is using this method to reach more young people. More ways to reach people and maybe help change the world's negativity toward's The Son of Man Thank you Dallas for doing this I know this takes great sacrifices.
This series has blessed me time and time again. It’s a show based on the Bible. Keyword “show” , the theatrics people call “heresies” are what make this a “show” and not an audio Bible. Love everyone ❤️
James 2 ¶ My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
your doing a great job with the brothers you are writing with! Heed to your heart, cause you know the vision for the show. i GIVE you kudos for taking your loaves and fishes Dallas
When i watched the first episode on youtube I couldn't stop crying with sheer joy and gratitude to the Lord, your show edifies the body of Christ brother and I thank God for that, I only wish it were available in the UK but the Lord willing, I will get to see the rest. God bless you and be with you always, stay looking for that blessed hope 💕
“The Chosen” is better than most of Jesus portrayal apart from “The Passion”. It’s very interesting to see someone’s perspective of The Gospels. It reminds me of the Part in “The Passion of Christ” where a young Jesus falls down and Mary rushes to his aid. This is an excellent depiction of Christ and his apostles.
The Chosen is the best most beautiful most moving movie I’ve watched on the life of Jesus and his disciples. You’ve provided a living canvas of the depth of each character. Thank you
When many of us meditate onThe Word, this is what we do. We take a price of scripture and imagine being there and all the things that could happen; that’s biblical, that’s meditating on the word, that’s what The Chosen is, like; another firm of meditation and it leaves my soul happy. Thank-you Dallas 🙏🏻
I thoroughly enjoyed your interview, and glad that you covered the topic completely concerning Scripture Vs. portraying the character of Jesus, in a film setting, which definitely are not to be combined, but still not portraying any scenes that would be a contradiction in terms of Jesus’s character. A great example in Scripture would be in Mathew 19:14 “Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Of course the scene in “The Chosen” with Jesus and the children wasn’t in scripture, but it was a great fictional example and example only, of this verse. This is how everyone should enjoy this!! I guarantee your heart will be moved! Another item I would like to point out and much smarter men and scholars already have, but this person in the Bible, Mary Magdalene is just one of numerous examples that the Bible is “God Breathed and Inspired.” In the time it was written, men in that day would have never written about a great woman such as Mary Magdalene in a male dominated society. Thank you for portraying her so well in the film.
This is something like Lectio Divina which is using ones imagination while reading Scripture. Delving deeper and connecting more. This is what we need to enhance our relationship and love of Jesus. This happens in The Chosen! This is anointed by God! Everyone needs to watch the Chosen. It is sent from Heaven to this fallen world. Thanks to everyone involved. Keep paying it forward! 😊
I appreciated that they "explained" what was happening with her following them around a little further by making a point that she is a SISTER in a group of older, same age and younger BROTHERS. When they had the Jesus actor JR ask her how she is faring with her Brothers or something to that effect and will she be excited to have more or to wait until she has more Brothers. Most audience members (I hope) already got the point before that but for any people that maybe uncomfortable that pretty much made the point solid. She is there because she is among her family members and she is actually far more protected and safe among them than on her own or with others. That is how it should be for women and children in the Church.
You have totally inspired me to move forward with the project that the Lord has laid on my heart. Please keep going!!! I am definitely going to pay it forward!! This is truly amazing and I am eager to see season 2.
You’re amazing Dallas. Praise God for you and your work. You have to add dialogue, it’s a show. Thank you for doing an amazing job. It would be a dream to be on this show.

2. Pls show HEMATRIDOSIS in Gethsemane (rare but real phenomenon described in medical literature)

There is no doubt that the Chosen is an inspired by the Lord show. Everything that edifies and uplifts our soul is inspired by God.
AMEN to that!!!
My favorite scene that doesn’t have to do with scripture is when Abigail and Joshua are hiding behind the rock as Jesus prays. So funny, cute and wholesome.
So many people love that whole episode. We are quite fond of it as well. :)
I loved that. ☺
It shows his deep love for children
(Added to Pope Francis calling Mary Magdalene - The Apostle to the Apostles in 2016 & cleaning her good name)
The similarities to America's Statue of Liberty 🗽 includes....

Catholics aren't even Christian, let alone the Jews who deny Jesus as the messiah. I understand the rabbi is messianic/believes in Jesus. The moment i saw the satanic priest, I questioned everything this show is doing... Maybe that's just me, but i don't dabble with compromise.

I can see the struggle however it doesn't change what the Bible says. We can make assumptions about what we think happened in what isn't said as long as we know it's an assumption. I love that your shows has the disclaimer too and people need to read their Bibles regardless. I love The Chosen!!
We shouldn't assume things when it comes to the Bible, that leads to confusion and heresy. God is not the author of either.
Seriously??
Elizabeth is a phenomenal actress and you can tell she really understands who Mary Magdalene was! ❣
Beautiful interview. Mary Magdalene was one of my favorites as a young adult, but I never thought about all the pain she endured. Even as my heart breaks for all she likely endured, I now love her even more and pray my own devotion to Jesus grows some small percentage of hers. In JMJ.

I watch a lot of film and have often lamented how few Christian productions are made to a stellar quality but this is so many times better!
Jesus of Nazareth is an older movie.
I saw the shortened version.
Well said, I resonate deeply with parts of this comment. Thank you and God bless you and all who shall read this!
Love it, Thank u Datta
Would you rather have that woman reflecting on "The Woman King" or some of the other trash that comes out of Hollywood these days?
It’s funny a lot of the things that I’ve watched so far have been scenes that I imagined in my mind while reading scripture. May God continue to protect and bless you because of the work you’re doing on the chosen!
Wow
Amen!!
mee too!!😃😃
As beautiful and anointed as The Chosen has proven to be in the first 4 episodes, those who have been following closely know that something powerful is unfolding and it is not only the production.
You have said what's been in my mind for soooo vary long... I must agree with you 100 percent.. The World is Changing, and it's about to explode...
Matthew Romero ❤️
Let me first say I am a True Believer in Christ JESUS, I Believe Every Word the Bible says But this is a Movie to inspire people to read their Bible more and to get closer to their Savior. That’s it . And out of all the Christian Movies I’ve seen, this is the one that have touched me the Most. I haven’t seen the 2nd season yet But the first season was Awesome !!!!!!! I haven’t cried so much in years. I truly Love you guys for playing your part to the very intense.🙏🙌🏽❤️
I’ve watched episodes 1 through 4 and all
of these UA-cam videos and can say that as many will embrace this inspiring work, others will attack it in a pharisaical manner.
AMEN to that... I to agree that they have succeeded in spades... #BingeJesus -- www.thechosen.tv
Jesus says in mark7:8
For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men.
Later in verse 9 he says
All too well you [e]reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition
Pharisees did NOTadhere to the word of God but rather their own traditions. You can't be making a show about Jesus and be so biblically illterate
It's an oxymoron to adhere to the word of God the" wrong way".
Thank you Jesus, thank you 🙏🏻
AMEN Audra.... Praise the Lord.
You and Me both!!!
I love Liz's interviews. She transmits her experience so beautifully!
REJOICE!! PERSECUTION.... A sure sign you are doing something right!! Jesus in me is very proud of you Dallas...Jesus in me loves what you are doing. I have not had ONE caution or red flag from The Chosen. I believe the Lord has his hand on you and this project. REJOICE
Amen to that... Ever since I Saw the Pilot Episode - The Shepherd, I knew as well.. This show is already changing the world... Praise the Lord.
Keep going my brother don't let the Pharisees get to you.
Haha! Are the Pharisees the bad guys? We talked about that in another video. :)
@@TheChosenSeries
If you get a chance, check out messianic rabbi Zev Porat on UA-cam.
Wow, that's so awesome to hear! Means so much, thank you! :)
“That’s not for you” is a phrase I remember every time I am about to make a mistake or sin in an area I’m trying to be better in. Thank you!
Your portrayal of Mary Magdellan was extremely believable Liz you are awesome
Dallas, don't listen to these people!
What they are so foolish to say is that you are telling a story! You're not trying to reinterpret scriptures. Continue with your honest and beautiful story for it's a beautiful portrayal of these stories and scriptures.
Love this interview. Liz makes Mary Magdalene a real, living character! Great insight, Dallas.
You just keep obeying the Lord my brother. Y'all are doing great in the portrayal of Jesus and his disciples. If I wasn't already following the Lord I would be since watching your show, you will be pulling plenty of people to Christ with your good works. Rock On Jesus!!!
I Love Israel ❤️ Shalom❤️ ! YESHUA HAMASHIACH IS MESSIAH ❤️ !
I love the way the characters are portrayed. We can only make certain assumptions and you have managed it beautifully.
I just love "the chosen" so much! Stirred my spiritual life..made me want to know more about my Savior...Thank you Dallas and the team!
I am crying just listening to this interview! Beautiful! I chose Saint Mary Magdalene as my Confirmation Saint because I also had a “before” and Jesus changed me into something new. So it is especially exciting for me to see Liz so perfectly portray this! Thank you so much! ❤️🙏❤️
Dallas Jenkins Oh wow! That sounds amazing. It’s going on my Christmas list for sure!
I love her ☺️
Hey Dallas persecution is only a step away towards the glory hope this encourages you !
(at least that is my goal) #BingeJesus -- www.thechosen.tv DOWNLOAD THE APP FOR EPISODES 1 - 4 for Free!!!
@@wizardnetwork Was the catholic priest as a consultant inspired? Was Jesus weeping ,when scripture does not back it up, inspired?
The Chosen is a very honest show and watching it I have had to pause in many places to reflect and talk to God.
I broke down crying when Jesus redeems Mary.. Thank you for doing this..
I'm speechless.
Dallas Jenkins No one knows that better than you. But we can see it too. So thankful you waited on Him for the casting decisions!
Love The Chosen. Each scene has so much depth. Looking forward to the next batch of episodes!
Me too.. Thanksgiving can't come soon enough for me!!!
Beautiful portrayed ♥️ Blessings
If you've ever watched NBC's Noah or the Last Temptation of Christ, then you have a strong idea of what heresy and blasphemy really is
I love how you share the story. Thumbs up. As someone else said the script enhances the series!!!!
You are touching so many lives with a beautiful story of Jesus and the messages the scriptures give us. Don't seek approval from men but from God. Keep shining and let the holy Spirit continue to guide you. God bless.
"...two-edged sword..."
The of the most powerful thing lve seen in my active 4 decades with my blessed Jesus..
Keep it going Bro
Mary of Magdalene is a story completed. I love this character so much. The actress is lovely.
So what?
When people fight you it means you are doing something, continue, fight the good fight of faith
James
2 ¶ My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,
3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
