19:05 One subtle detail, which I don't know if was intentional or not, is that Scourge's backstory of being "bored with peace" earily resembles Sonic getting restless and angsty after Robotnik was defeated in the Endgame arc. Sonic was fortunately able to get over it when Naugus appeared and gave him a new foe to fight, but Scourge didn't have that opportunity and instead continued down that dark, restless path until finally reaching the point of no return, when he (as implied here) allegedly killed his own father.
Scourge is such a hate love character and everyone can agree on it, on one hand i sympathize how he ended up becoming the monster he came to be and on the other hand, besides trying to take over the entire universe and spreading his tyrannical influence i can never forgot or forgive what he did to Bunnie(if you know what i'm referring too) overall i'm curious if Ken never filed a lawsuit, what would be the future of Scourge?
@orcaroomeii8019 at some point in the comics where Sonic was away in space, Scourge who was called Evil Sonic at that period, take Sonic's place and pretty starts messing around with every girl he sees(that includes Amy, Rouge, Fiona etc) Bunnie was one of the girls and during this time she and Antonie had a falling out so she went out with Evil Sonic unknowingly, they later rest under tree and implied Scourge SA Bunnie it was confirmed by said writer Ken Penders who wrote the issue
I find it interesting that Scourge's alliance with Fiona and Finitevus is a sort of dark reflection of Team Sonic In both you have a hedgehog, a fox and an echidna, but in the case of the Destructix the roles are a bit swapped around
So in the comics, Angel Island feels like a homage to Atlantis, at least the pop culture version. Both have/had extremely advanced technology and were (almost) undone by their hubris/messing with powers beyond their control. Making Anti-Angel Island an underwater city brings that connection full circle.
Scourge was crying because Prime Sonic had a dad that loved him and Scourge deep down at his core is a bully and a coward. Fiona on the other hand should've known better than to leave the Freedom Fighters for Scourge, I hate her.
I'll stand by that this is still one of my favorite Sonic Archie Arcs so far. I still love it for how they do go into showing while the Supression Squad are horrible they do have some level of complexity, with Scourge too. I adore this arc for all it's campy, and deeply fun.
12:50 "All it takes is One Bad Day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That's how far the world is from where I am. Just One Bad Day." The Joker's most iconic quote. That made me love Scourge even more for quoting one of my favorite villains of all time. For Miles Anti-Tails, I picture the late great Sir Peter Cushing's portrayal of Grandmoff Wilhuff Tarkin.
Unfortunately, Ken Pender’s created evil sonic and that didn’t change even after Ian Flynn turned him into scourge since it’s technically the same character, and since lawsuit shenanigans happened, the comics could no longer use the character and had to reboot because they couldn’t use anything can owned, and he got to own everything he made because the legal team dropped the ball on maintaining a original copy of his contract
Scourge had boasted that his super form had no draw backs, He could stay in it indefinitely and his Throne was packed full of the Anarchy Beryls meaning the gems aren't as rare as the Emeralds... Sonic simple deduced that The super form had to have some form of Weakness that correlated . Yeah he is taking a gamble but Its Sonic its what he does. Plus it feeds into Scrouge ultimate flaw... He's need for Validation. The "Prove it tough guy" is just the perfect encapsulation of Sonic and Scrouge's dynamic.
2:15 this looks like the spiderverse scene when they’re all about chase down miles. Now that I think about it. A lot of franchises have these moments. It’s just interesting there were doing these ideas YEARS before it’s been over done on the big screen. I hope something like this gets referenced in or comic Sonic gets some sort of animated adaptation
You should make a video on Mammoth Mogul or Ixis Naugus. I find the both of them to be interesting other villains . Than just Eggman with his technology.
I gotta be honest, I cannot take this hedgehog seriously, and I don't mean ironically, no, I actually do not like him, mainly because.... well look at him, he's green version of Sonic with scars on his chest, a black leathered jacket with fire design on both sides, leather boots, and red sunglasses, this is just an edgy Sonic OC, and the fact that he is an official character from a Sonic property, not to mention he's suppose to be cool because it was the 90's, so yeah, I hate this guy
Ok hear me out I think I know who’d be The perfect voice for him if he came to the games Greg Chun aka the voice of Garou in one punch man he’d sound perfect as scourge
was it every explicitly stated how you pronounce moebius? if it wasn't, I'm pretty sure it would be pronounced the exact same way mobius is I think both ways of spelling it are pronounced the same way

Scourge is a really interesting villain in my opinion and freaking crazy and psychotic.

This is dumb cause he himself treated chaos knuckles as a separate entity and its exsactly thensame thing when it comes to who owns it.
26:01 DUMB!? I THINK IT'S GENIUS AND BRILLIANT! don't you see it literally demonstrate the whole ((work smarter not harder)) thingy.

I love scourge as a character it’s a shame that scourge can’t be used again due to the lawsuit
And I can see him being voiced by Steve Blum.
Honestly Steve Blum is my head canon voice for scourge now lol
