Like most fans of my generation, I want MORE! And I'll keep wanting until he does something truly epic with his newfound power. #ScourgeWantsMore
Scourge is one of my favorite Sonic characters! I'd never forget him! I may portray him differently than the official comics, but still! He's badass, and to top it off, he controls lightning (that or it was literally a thunderstorm where I saw him with it)!
He is (or was) as his name suggests the bane of all whom he encountered. as his adjacent counterpart is the protagonist that everyone in mobius holds some degree of respect and admiration for, he is of course the opposite, the one whom everyone greatly dreads and fears. I've always loved the concept of the multiverse, and imo it in of itself and the mirror/anti-world trope never gets old. But it's a real shame the Archie comics universe will likely never feature in the mainstream continuity.
Scourge's legacy was destroyed by one simple thing. Archie couldn't afford to keep paying royalties to his creator, who somehow Sega never sued to claim ownership of his characters created for the Sonic comic, so Sega and Archie opted instead to wipe away all of the original characters, which between the Super Genesis Wave and the reboot, just left fans heartbroken in the aftermath of so many characters with strong ties to the main cast vanishing from existence. The Super Genesis Wave was Sega snapping their fingers with the Infinity Gauntlet, only this time there was no possibility of a time heist to undo it.
His Father didn't love him, he had to absorb Chaos Energy just to fight on par with Sonic which didn't last long, he's the embodiment of a Sonic OC gone bad, and then he got wiped out by the Super Genesis Wave... Heartbreaking doesn't begin to cover it.
I hate how Ken Penders thinks he owns Scourge when he shouldn’t. I think his main argument for having the rights to him was that because he was originally Evil Sonic, a character he introduced in the comics, meaning he owns Scourge. When Evil Sonic was just Sonic with a jacket and sunglasses, which wouldn’t hold up in court if Sega or Archie actually cared. And what makes me mad is that he takes credit for creating Scourge when it was Ian Flynn who created (redesign Evil Sonic) and made him a much better character, making Scourge feel like a true opposite to Sonic.
Can i point out that Fiona Fox was Basically Scrouge version of Tails(Not Really though) So in a Way they are The Sonic and Tails Shipping. That im sure some people have seen on the Internet.
@Dylan Ogega I said not Really Though. That was Me Referring to Anti-Tails. Scrouge and Fiona are Basically the Sonic and Tails Pair. I'm sure that what they was going for.
TWO QUESTIONS!! 1. Are you going to cover Frontiers Sonic given his new abilities that he gained in the game? 2. Are you reading the IDW Comics, and if so, you planning on doing a video on Surge the Tenrec and her powers?
I really enjoyed scourge the hedgehog he's a very fun character to me just wish that he was a playable character and in a game some day that would be fun
If nothing else, it's nice to see that Scourge's final appearance before the Genesis Wave was one of triumph, with him breaking out of prison with a brand new gang and amped up to dish out some payback.
I really liked Scourge The Hedgehog. As you said, he wanted to split away from Sonic and become his pwn character. When I read that he conquered his own world, I was blown away. That was epic and then he eventually gained his own team of unique individuals with Fiona, a girl who tried to be a hero, but went down the dark path and I loved it. Will you please consider doing a video about Enerjak?
@@Velocity_YT true I can't really defend that but look on the bright slide nothing ever felt rushed Which is my big complaint about the idw comics is all to rushed the story arcs go way to quickly
Because Ken Penders is a greedy killjoy who would sue Sega again if they tried. He sued them when Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood came out due to the villians resemblance to the Dark Legion. He’s why they can’t use Echidnas at all other then Knuckles ever since then.
Personally I thought it was hilarious how they blatantly ripped off Akuma the Hedgehog, a famous Sonic OC on the internet at the time, with that design. Everybody was joking with his creator that Archie should be giving him royalties for that.

Or because "another Sonic, but evil" was too much of a gimmick to be/stay interesting. But I don't consider becoming green to be the same as completely changed. Like most fans of my generation, I want MORE! And I'll keep wanting until he does something truly epic with his newfound power.
#ScourgeWantsMore
At least the Sonic Fan Film, Sonic Villains, Scourge will definitely do some damage against Sonic
Amazing video, more archie videos please. Do Enerjak next or Dr. Finitevus
Scourge is one of my favorite Sonic characters! I'd never forget him! I may portray him differently than the official comics, but still! He's badass, and to top it off, he controls lightning (that or it was literally a thunderstorm where I saw him with it)!
Some videos idea that i would like to see are about Nazo and Sellkadoom
He is (or was) as his name suggests the bane of all whom he encountered. as his adjacent counterpart is the protagonist that everyone in mobius holds some degree of respect and admiration for, he is of course the opposite, the one whom everyone greatly dreads and fears.
I've always loved the concept of the multiverse, and imo it in of itself and the mirror/anti-world trope never gets old.
But it's a real shame the Archie comics universe will likely never feature in the mainstream continuity.
“Hail to the King, BABY!”
-Scourge the Hedgehog, issue #197
I loved Scourge so much that I wished he was immigrated into the games and become to Sonic as Wario is to Mario.
He's the little palette swap that could.
Miss him and the archie verse as a whole
Scourge is my second favorite Sonic character right after Shadow. *ALL HAIL THE KING, BABY!!!*
How on Earth did Scourge appear on the cover of Best of Sonic the Hedgehog Rivals if he was owned by Penders?
Probably made before they knew the scope of the lawsuit. He’s just evil Sonic at the end of the day. Someone claiming ownership of him is whack.
He said the comic cover was cancelled anyways
Simple answer, other writers improving him and making him better
I'd say Scourge lives on in IDW's Surge The Tenrec.
I miss Scourge. So much potential WASTED
I had the first Evil Sonic comic back in the day, didn’t realize he grew up to be Sonic’s Broly
His Father didn't love him, he had to absorb Chaos Energy just to fight on par with Sonic which didn't last long, he's the embodiment of a Sonic OC gone bad, and then he got wiped out by the Super Genesis Wave... Heartbreaking doesn't begin to cover it.
Super Scourge= Super Saiyan Rose
he is so cool!! I use to be terrified of him as a child but i grew to love this dork!! He needs attention ASAP! such a good character.
Scourge: *breathes*
Every deviyantart sonic fan: "OH MY GOD HES SO GOD DAMN COOL!!"
I miss Scourge and Fiona. Probably was the highlight of the comics for me
As someone who didn’t get to enjoy scourge in his prime, I really think he’s awesome and wish I could’ve been there
Luckily, we got surge which is a character AKIN or to replicate scourge. They are not the same but the inspiration is obvious
Sponsors, good for you man
As long as Ken Penders is around, Scurge will most likely never return, but we do have a spiritual successor In Surge the tenrec
This makes me sad, I liked Scourge when I read the comics, Penders ruined the Sonic comics's best characters.
Of all the characters from the old continuity, I miss Scourge the most.
When he said “Made by Ken Penders” I was like “ooooh I know what happened now…”
So it looks like the IDW series is making a spiritual successor to Scourge its a character called Surge the Tenrec.
I WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN MARK MY WORDS!!!!!!!
his appearance in the comic "ghosts of the future" comics were very well done and kinda ties up his character nicely. though its still only fan comic
It may be a fan comic, but it's high quality, its author Evan Stanley worked for Archie and now works for IDW.
Scourge is definitely one of my favorite characters in the comics.
Scourge is super underated
I always said Scourge should've been in a video game
TWO QUESTIONS!!
1. Are you going to cover Frontiers Sonic given his new abilities that he gained in the game?
2. Are you reading the IDW Comics, and if so, you planning on doing a video on Surge the Tenrec and her powers?
As a huge fan of Scourge, I feel sorry for the dude.
Scourge is basically FMA Greed as a Sonic character.
I really enjoyed scourge the hedgehog he's a very fun character to me just wish that he was a playable character and in a game some day that would be fun
Scourge the Hedgehog. Gone, but not forgotten.
If nothing else, it's nice to see that Scourge's final appearance before the Genesis Wave was one of triumph, with him breaking out of prison with a brand new gang and amped up to dish out some payback.
There will be a day where Scourge is no longer in copyright hell and that day will be awesome.
What the Hell Happened to Scourge the Hedgehog??!?!? Ken Penders,Ken is what happened to scourge the genesis wave is kens fault
Scourge was definitely one of my favorite Sonic villains and evil Sonic clones
speaking of heartbreaking endings, don't get me started on what happened to Shard.
Growing up with the sonic comcis in the late 90s till my highshcool years in the 2010s. I always loved it when Scourge showed up
I really liked Scourge The Hedgehog.
Am so glad the Archie comics is getting much needed love its the GT of the sonic Franchise
100 times better then the IDW comics
🔊 *FACTS!!!*
Man I'm glad I'm not the only one who's made that GT comparison.
I don't know...Archie became a soap opera instead of a comic book after some time
@@Velocity_YT true I can't really defend that but look on the bright slide nothing ever felt rushed
Which is my big complaint about the idw comics is all to rushed the story arcs go way to quickly
@@paulf631 the only thing I don't like is that the characters aren't really consistent. Like Amy for example and Tails...
Every underdog character got skewered into tissue paper
Yeah, but this time, we can blame someone other than Sega
Scourge is my all-time favorite Sonic character! I feel it in my soul that he'll be back some day!
Fun fact: His new design was also based on the glitch from Sonic 2, Ashura. His black crown represented the black marks around Ashura’s head.
How about movement #Bring_back_Scourge ?
He but he's a different species and they made him a girl
The potential SEGA has to make an AWESOME game with Scourge as the villain is there.
I find it ironically fitting that Scourge's story ended with a whimper.
Ken Penders that' what happened.
Why won’t Sega use Enerjak or Scourge in a Sonic game. They don’t even need to make anything original, literally remake what you have in game format
I just realized scourge went ssj rose before that was a official thing.
Personally I thought it was hilarious how they blatantly ripped off Akuma the Hedgehog, a famous Sonic OC on the internet at the time, with that design. Everybody was joking with his creator that Archie should be giving him royalties for that.
@@OkamiPrincess15 That brought up some memories. Funny how many times new additions suspiciously look like fan works.
I Remember "mysticalforestzone" hosted a ton of custom sprites. Site is down, but It's still available on the waybackmachine.
Scourge didn't run out of energy. Sonic tricked him into powering down, and part of the transformation was running out of energy when that happened.
I've never heard of this character before, but now he's probably my favorite Sonic character. Would love to see him represented in a Video game Some day. Maybe a SA3 or Sonic Heroes 2 since he's got the whole "Destructix" thing.
I thought Scourge was lame and unoriginal at first, mainly cause we already had Shadow, but he grew on me over time and I now see him as one of my favorite Sonic, let alone Archie villains.
Shadow hasn't been "Evil Sonic" for over 20 years.
@@MaximumSpider19 That’s why I said “had”
I'm gonna be real honest Saiyan Scholar, there is no way I've forgotten a character that badass.
I know what happened to scourge and shard 2 words ken penders
Scourge was great. I will still go back and read his sonic universe prison arc. I like the idw books but I miss many aspects of the Archie verse. Great video👏
Scourge was my favorite as a kid even did a bunch of drawings of him as a kid. Seeing him in a comic I got instantly made him my favorite
I still don’t understand how Penders own an evil Sonic with master emerald energy
Scourge was one of my favorite Sonic villains of all time and we will never see him now thanks to Ken Penders.
It's because the stupid legal issue that ruin the partnership between Archie Comics and Sega.
Everyone agrees on Scourge being a top character, someone assassinate Ken so we can see the characters in the games.
I always come back..
I could see Scourge being the main baddy if they chose to use him for SA:3
Fun fact, Scourge was inspired from Ashura in terms of design.
When I was little I thought scourge was cool and even remember watching amv of him😅
Hopefully someday we'll see him again
Why did I just now notice his eyes became blue to opposite Sonic's pallet scheme
Um, it’s Penders’ fault
I hope scourge is going to be in sonic prime and future sonic games
They need to bring scourge back somehow even if they cant bring the actual scourge himself back
