Using a 1503000 LiFePO4 battery charger to power an FT817

I bought it just to charge a battery. However it also powers an FT817 (or FT818) when at home. Here's a demonstration.

I'm using a Xbox One power supply, £12 used from eBay. Plug hacked to bits and 2 powerpole connections fitted, powers my 817 and Chinese amp at 25watts, no problems and no noise at all. 73.

Excellent Peter!
Looking to get one of those batteries to finally replace some older SLA types.
Maybe slightly larger current capacity to suit the Icom IC-703 at 10w output.

I did. The internal battery adds weight for little benefit.

I have been looking for a LiFe PO4 battery and charger since I got my FT-817ND. I have not been able to find one in Tassie. Can I ask where you purchased your battery and do they have others with a larger capacity?

Rodney - it came from www.everybattery.com.au/search.php They have outlets in Tas. They have a wide range.

I contacted them only a few days ago and they said they don't carry that type of battery. So I will call in and discuss it a little further perhaps. Would seem they don't like going out of their comfort zone LOL.
