    Thanks for this segment. I use finger grips and I get new ones at the beginning of each season. I also switched to interchangeable thumbs a few months ago since my thumb shrinks and expands due to the weather. Good stuff!

    I use the Vise IT interchangeable thumb in all of my balls. I absolutely love it. I am so glad I started out that way. When I get my balls drilled, I have them drilled for the Vise IT and the finger holes drilled for finger grips, but I install my own finger grips and I use a Dremel tool with a special bit to modify them slightly (more oval shaped).

    This video is fabulous. Thank you. Have you done anything related to traditional, semi, or full fingertip suggestions? Plus, how do you determine what weight a ball should be? I'm 72 years young, starting all over again, used to use a 16 lb ball, purchased a 13 lb ball, and it's too light (I throw it too hard).

    I have nothing against interchangeables, but i swear by thumb molds. If your thumb doesn't change size, molds are awesome.

    Im relatively new to bowling and I did the JoWo system for my balls. It was a tough adjustment (felt wrong) at first, but now I cant imagine bowling with out it. My thumb swells a lot so it was necessary for me if I wanted to bowl more then 3-4 games.

    I switched to interchangeable (JoPo) thumbs, and I have never looked back since. It does not matter what ball I pick up out of my arsenal. They all feel the exact same on my hand since making the change.

    In the past month my son has had 2 anchors break in 2 different balls. The pro shop uses the Vise IT system.

      The Vise IT system has too many points for failure, the anchor being the primary source in most cases. After using all brands Vise, Turbo, GripLock, Ultimate over the last 20 years, JoPo has the best system available in my opinion.

      I concur. The JoPo is the way to go. My bowling ball guy installs them by default when someone is unsure which one they want. He has been installing them a long time now and has yet to see a failure.

    Getting vacugrips and JoPo switch grip for my equipment in 2 weeks. So frustrated with what I currently have from different pro shops! Planning to get one thumb insert for normal thumb size, and one for swollen thumb size. Currently, my fingers and thumb won’t even go in properly! Yuck!

    I have dry hands as well. I initially thought a rosin grip bag would help, but it doesn't. What do you use on your hands while bowling?

      I throw at least 20 games per week, so that would mean new grips every two weeks, as I mostly throw two of my balls. That would bankrupt me fast.
      How long would vacu-grips last?

    • @tvbowlingsupply
      @tvbowlingsupply  4 місяці тому

      @@lazylion1421 vacus don’t typically last as long. 20 games is if you want the absolute best fresh feel but most people can get away with a whole league season and be fine!

    Did you really mean to say to change out your finger grips every twenty games, Or was that mispoken? I would have to say if you are changing your finger grips every twenty games, I think you might want to be shopping around for a better product. If you were bowling five days a week, They should last you twenty weeks.

    • @tvbowlingsupply
      @tvbowlingsupply  4 місяці тому

      20 games if you wanted to have that brand new feel frequently. They certainly can last you a whole season no problem. The pros will change them as frequently as week in and week out just for that fresh feel
