  • Dr. Wasserbauer, a past president of the Board of Directors for the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS).a hair follicle banking now has several advantages - Banking at the earliest opportunity “stops the clock” on the banked follicles ageing so the cells will be the most active when the treatment system is available and you need treatment - Banking allows multiple treatments from the one simple surgery - Banking follicles is the first step and those patients with banked follicles will therefore be first in line for the treatment once it is available - All profits from the banking will go to accelerating the development of the R&D to bring the treatment to the clinic - Follicles remain the property of the patient and could be used for other treatments if the patient decides to transfer them.

      I'm with you man. I was young and dumb and I pulled a lot of my hair out and a lot of my hair follicles out when I was young so now my hair is really really really thin and not only that I pulled them out with hot curlers playing around with my hair and shitt when I was young and when I got older it got thinner and thinner and thinner and thinner to I just cut it off. Now I want my hair back

    They keep talking about hair clone since I start this business 2007-th... nothings change. An till they have interests to sale disposable materials, shampoos for hair loss, lotions and many other treatments THEY will not show true result. I do believe hair clone is possible even decade ago but still... They are waiting to make enough money from things i mansion above and in a future maybe they will present it (2030).
    Beside that I remember when hair transplant use to cost 9000 euro (3 euro per hair, not per follicle) and ONLY doctors perform procedure. Today nurse and technical perform (ispite good results) and procedure cost 1500 euro in Turkey (as a beigest butcher market). They ruin the all market and make medical industry looks funny. What is next, nurse to do kidney surgery for 1500 eur... ridiculous. There is no way (except with tricky marketing) to explain WHY surgery cost 1500 in Turkey and triple in EU... secret has been hide - no doctors only nurse and no qualified personal perform - that against every law in EU, US even world wide.

    Dr. Wasserbauer: What do you think of Stemson Therapeutics method of taking blood or skin, reengineering the cells to a pluripotent state to become hairs and then implanting them into the human scalp? The good thing I find about this is no grafts have to be extracted from the donor section at all. The question is by their process, will their hairs be the type that will consistently cycle, be thick terminal hairs and DHT resistant as those from the donor section of the scalp?

      Long after they've drained your wallet by claiming they need to bank your follicles. Unless you have alopecia and every follicle is going to die, there will be plenty of cells to clone when you need them without paying thieves today.

    I have no hope for this technology full available in my lifetime. I’m 40now, I been suffering hair loss at 30. I’m willing to paying $20k for hair transplants, but I’m afraid pain. One time, I put down the deposit and last minute. I was chicken out. Loss my deposit.

      Every patient worries about pain and whether they will achieve the desired result. As the majority of my patients can testify a hair transplant is a minor skin procedure and besides some skin pricks during the numbing which we minimize with massage there is really very little discomfort for most patients.

    Why would anyone need to bank hair follicles? The hair at the back and sides of the head are DHT resistant and will be there to harvest if a cloning procedure is perfected in the future. This is just a money grabbing scam. Stop it.

      This can be used to stop the need for transplant which you get to keep the follicles in the back

    • @datmeme8967
      @datmeme8967 5 місяців тому

      @@ygbodybuilder3023 You missed the point. Your DHT resistant follicles (donor area in back of your head) will never fall out. There's no need to "bank" them with these people now. If the technology to clone follicles is ever perfected, they'll just take a few from your head and clone as many as you need for a transplant. These people are just stealing your money. It doesn't even make sense.
