    1st find is a barrel bung with a hole for a spout 6:19 Mop handle 7:55 cylinder head for what looks to be an old straight eight engine 9:38 drive line yoke. 22:43 old wind up alarm clock

    • @davidturk6170
      @davidturk6170 Рік тому +7

      7:41 - this is some type of head. Based on the one intake and two exhaust, it looks like it might go to some small industrial engine, or maybe a compressor. Early car cylinder heads didn’t look like that (flat heads had no valves or ports in them). OHV car engines had more intake and exhaust ports.

    • @realnikonlover6207

      @@davidturk6170 Agree! It looks like an old forklift head which would make sense being next to that old industrial building that had roll up doors next to the rivers edge.

    The brick that the rope was attached to was someone's set line. If you noticed the big hooks on the rope would be used for catfish. The anchor you found that you said was attached to the brick would make sense. They would then tie some sort of float on each end with a flag so people would know there's a set line in place. The guy probably lost his gaff hook searching for his set line.
    The long thing you thought probably was an anchor, probably was. Back in the days, the river used to be filled with houseboats up-and-down, same as in Oshkosh. You still will see Houseboats tyed offshore during the walleye run. Only thing is, nowadays they have to pull them out of the water. They can't leave them in all summer long.

    I just watched this show again it's better then the replays on the big time TV. 😊 but you got more then 3 anchors you got 3 homemade anchors plus 1 poormans anchor the brick. And those magnets you got If they have no magnetism in them might be anchors. When we went fishing with canoes we used big gears or scraps of iron for a anchor. It doesn't take much to hold a canoe from floating down stream. 10 pounds would work. You also got a homemade grappling hook. So you really killed it to get that all on your own is cool.
    Do us a favor on one of your up coming shows set out all the anchors you have pulled out of the water I would really like to see them if you still have them. I know you had a few get tossed out of your truck by one of the guys at the scrapyard and I think I seen the big magnet get 1 or 2 when the used it to clean your truck out. When they used that they took things you told them you wanted to keep. I was glad you don't let them use it anymore. You should really start keeping all the latch and pins you find off the old railroad bridges. They stopped using this things around 1880 so they are old almost 150 years old and if there ones that were made in the 1850s your really getting old ones. There are lots of antique and historical buildings and old trains out there that would love to get a chance to buy them to add to the collection of railroad tools and equipment. Look it up on the web. There are 100s of sites that are out there... sorry for going on for so long I get carried away when I start typing out stuff. I do not have a voice so one of the only ways I have to communicate is by wrighting or typing out what I want to say.
    So I will let you go I hope to keep seeing you cleaning out are lakes and rivers and finding things from are past. Oh and start keeping those old axes and knifes. There worth more as a antique then as a piece of scrap metal. Some thing for picks and pitchforks. Clean then lightly and use some oil on them to stop anymore rust from building on them. The horse shoes and those river dogs for the lumber logs are also good items.
    I know there are some great lumberjack festivals in wis. That you could sell them. Or make homemade horseshoe sets for playing or pitching horseshoe

    @3:39. Whatchamacallit type screwdriver. It looks to me it is a tool for stitching moccasins. I’m not 100%. I didn’t look at it that carefully but I do have one just like it but not as long.
    Good luck in your next finds 🍀🍀👍🏼🇨🇦
