the colours worked perfectly for your cute characters 😀
I would love to see you paint with the supplies and not only the finished artwork but
I really like your videos and hope you continue UA-cam for a long time
Thank you so much! :) I'll keep that in mind, I really appreciate the feedback.
Oh my goodness! Never knew that about Winsor and Newton inks! Ugh. Very good to know!😂
I didn't know either and found out the hard way, lol! XD
I loved this box so much it got me back into watercolors 😅 I'm not a fan of water brushes but actually was happy that they included it, it's much better than other water brushes I tried but I mainly use it with water based markers or crayons.
So glad you enjoyed the Saunders Waterford paper!
You could put the ink in the water brush, or water color
Yes no hotdog
3:08 Oooh! That happened with my sunshine yellow Windsor & Newton ink and I always wondered what happened to it. Thank you for this information, now I know to be careful with tap water and these inks.
I like your super hero cats 🐈
I, unfortunately, once decided to fill a waterbrush with W&N drawing ink, naturally diluted with tap water.
It's an unusable leaky mess.
Figured it would work because in my experience the inks never dry waterproof.
The water brushes are good for travel
Any idea what happens to that shellac paint after it is dry if you go over it with a brush dipped in 90+% alcohol? (In woodworking that's how you dissolve the shellac flakes for making a finish, so I'm wondering if it would re-'wet' just the shellac-bound particles)
Oooooooo!! I'm definitely gonna have to try that!!!!
All I know is that I often used alcohol to clean my dip pen and it works wonders. I´ve never thought of using it to dilute the ink instead... Now I´m curious!
That was one thing I've found with Van Gogh and Rembrant paints... They stay where you put them. Not nearly as much dispersion as other brands, but they're great when you need the colours to stay where they're put. I keep a decent range of Van Gogh half pans for just this reason. As for the ink, yeah, it's a bit of a different thing. I like ink washes, but as you said, I find it's most effective when laid down relatively quickly in a flat or gradient wash... As for Saunders Waterford paper, the only wholesaler that I know of that has it in Canada is Heinz Jordan (and they only sell the 22"x30" sheets)... If you can find a retailer that can order from Heinz Jordan in Quebec, they can get it for you. Heinz Jordan is a smaller wholesaler, but where I work, we've been buying from them for years. They're a bit quirky as a company, but the product is good and when they ship orders, they usually pack them to survive the journey and I rarely have damages, so I like that about them.
You sound so fancy when you say Leonard in French 😆😆😄
I buy the paper from Jackson's in the UK and they ship pretty quickly. I'm in the US and this works well for me. I buy most European art supplies this way, it's usually less expensive than buying in the US. I don't know if it would be the same in Canada.
Your cats are lovely, but overall, this Upcrate was meh. Except that Leonard brush! I have been dying to try those brushes. Where did you find them available in France? The US customs situation is much easier to buy imported goods, so they might be affordable🤞 Thanks for sharing the info.
You can order them here: bit.ly/3ZH5Qt9
I will get some from there at some point, when I can justify the expensive shipping 😅😅
@@EveBolt Thank you! Oh, Canada, why are you so expensive?
