It's pretty much Z06 conviertible.
Car has some bolts on like full intake and exhaust and stage 2 cam. It's making 625HP
Check out what guy in 0:29 Think about my Exhaust :)
The speedo is in KM/H because I'm from Poland :)
There ain’t nothing like a C6 Z06 no replacement for displacement all aluminum 427 motor👍👍👍

there is a replacement for displacement. it's called forced induction my guy
@BlazinmoneyVODS but what if displacement had forced induction as well....pretty sure displacement is still best there too hahaha! So the old saying remains true.

I drove a couple LS3 corvettes before being completely blown away by my Z06 that I have now. Yes, you have to do the heads. Yes, you should address the oil starvation issues. Once I have finished those upgrades I will have a pretty badass Corvette that I will be able to enjoy for years to come
That being said too many people act like the $15,000 difference between buying the z06 and fixing the problems with the ls7 is not a big deal. That's like half the price of a grandsport with the ls3 that doesn't need the fixes.
@@Chillin4030a grand sport in the states costs 30k?
man, here in germany you're lucky to get a grand sport for 40k... euros 😔😂
Got my OEM upgraded Lingenfelter heads done this year, and now drive (Rusty) my Atomic Orange Z. No longer nervous to drive this splendid rocket once again :-) Cheers from Canada.

The LS3 is perfection already, but then there is even more than that, in the LS7…..
Such legendary hi-po performance engines.
LS7's main flaw is the valve's dropping. Needs new heads to prevent the engine from blowing up

Couldnt agree more that the 427ci LS7 is a beast. Its why I'm building my 2010 GS LS3 into a high comprossion 416 NA stroker to get damn near the same power with 10x the reliability. I could boost mine but i dont like the heat soak from the blower. Personal preference really.
(((turbo)))
Hey man you got to rev match when down shifting in that car when you let the clutch do it your forcing the transmission and clutch to bring the motor speed up which stresses a lot of the drivetrain but more so then drivetrain wear it will throw off the balance of the car in speed or corners and can easily cause you to spin out in high torque applications.
For those concerned about "my experience" i drive a ZLE 6MT and never use auto rev match but i learned on an 07 TL ;)
100%
In a Car like that downshifting without Rev Matching is extrem Dangerous.
Valid point, until the LS7 drops a valve, and the motor goes boom..... or the poorly coated Ti rods rub together and eventually the engine goes boom, than all of a sudden that LS3 looks really really appealing.....
Exactly! Luckily never had any issues with mine, but I sure know a good amount of people personally who have had one or the other happen.
That's why you have it fixed before it happens. Common sense

I went from heads cam z06 590whp I built to a GS that I'm building heads cam with 2300 blower and I enjoy it way more as something to drive around often. ls7 z06 gave me issues with oil leaking out side main caps, the valve guides wearing, and last but not least the titanium rods rubbing and causing titanium dust in the oil which eventually caused bearing wear that dropped oil pressure. Love the c6 z06 but all the issues I had made me ready to move on. Hearing some blower whine on the ls3 and making 680whp on 93 pump.

Yeah, that was painful.
Yeah that was some real bad driving
I did buy a c6 grand sport with the specific intentions of putting a centri supercharger on it. Regardless ls7 is great.
This one seems a bit tuned up from stock, but I enjoy mine. My car is a 2007, and the wear shows mostly in paint, seats and headlights, and the lack of options it came with ( no heated seat, no bluetooth, etc.. ) . Always thought about just upgrading within the C6 family, since they go all the way to 2013. It will be funny, if I absolutely have to upgrade just to get better non-engine things. It would be fun to drop to LS3 and have a convertible C6. I mean the 1/4 mile listings for the C7Z are better by an error factor. at least "on paper". But I am starting to want one, just for the car wrapped around the LT4 motor. Especially in red. You walk by one in a parking lot, and it just bathes you in red for hours. Thanks.
Yeah he said it has around 625 HP this thing is a monster I love it
5.3l blew in my rcsb Silverado and I’m replacing it with a 6.2 with LT4 pistons and forged crank with a nice maggie sitting on top. Build will finish by the end of year. Looking to put down 600whp

They are a dream to own and drive. Only N/A I’ve ever been in that pulls like a turbo car. IMO tho the transmission gearing is the best part about a c6z. You rarely gotta shift but can lug it around town in 4th which goes to 160mph. Insane cars!
85 in first gear is CRAZY!!!🎉🎉❤
its in kph
Still… it’s 62 mph in first is what it is. 4th is 160mph

LS7 is no joke but LS3 is 🤴 for me. Durability = more value. I love my GS
I agree I have owned the C6zo6 that was an 2008 and lil rough around the edges it was road hard and I drove it hard too had lots of issues due to piss poor shops but now I have a 2012 GS 4LT and it already had the C7 style headlights and LED rears plus bunch of carbon fiber under hood two tone seats magnetic ride double din stereo with back up camera two roofs one is carbon fiber. Just did ARH headers Haltech intake and tuned it's an A6 with the NPP exhaust sounds good runs good is reliable. Maybe a stage 2 cam n stall later on but might just leave it be kinda over the whole racing thing.
Best sounding American engine

My car has a LS2 all i can say. Your carIs god dam that is seriously good acceleration.
From the outside looking in. Ls7 isn't so common. You have the heads issues and durability of the rods. Ls3 can be built to a similar power level and you can always make a stroker ls3.
In a car as light as the ‘vette, the power of an LS3 is still enough to have fun with in my opinion
@SaucerClone even a worked 6.0 is enough. You can get an ls2 to 500 crank hp which is what the ls7 makes. You'll just be lacking the tq from a 400 cube motor
You could get them to 600 HP with aftermarket heads such as the AFR235 and TFS235 and a good cam. Change the rear gear to match the powerband.@@swappedoutZ71
@@dennisrobinson8008 yes they can be taken to 600 or higher I was just saying you could get it to stock ls7 hp level and have a SIMILAR feel to a z06, but we all know it's not gonna feel the same as a true z. But close enough to satisfy most of us

Ls3 with a cam and centri. Faster and more reliable than the ls7.

LS7 with ductile-iron sleeves, valves/guides and a TVS2650 = an LS3/LS9's worst nightmare.
3rd gear and already at the end of the speedo is crazy
I disagree. I have owned a 2008 C6zo6 H/C/I full bolt ons 430 cubic inch 600 whp was procharged before made 770 whp was actually scary boosted. Long story short car was fun but the shops I took it to were not the best had lots of issues ended up selling due to constant problems. From there had a C7 Stingray supercharger full bolt on 620 whp ran low 11s at stupid high destiny altitude in Albuquerque NM put it in wall at dragstrip got complacent and forgot to put track control back on driver error anyways hard lesson learned but now back to a 2012 C6 Grand Sport because I prefer the C6 over the C7 this is my 4th Vette. Just got through doing ARH headers Haltech intake and tuned in aA6 4lT Crystal Red coupe car that is a lot of fun has the NPP exhaust and sounds great. I don't plan on going too much more power been there done that but honestly I think it boils down to personal preference I have owned manuals and can bang gears have lots of videos of races but after time I have become content with a comfy cruiser that has some sound and lil giddy up. I dig the removable top of a Grand Sport vs the fixed roof of a Zo6 don't get me wrong the Zo6 is a great car and runs strong but in my opinion the LS3 is a great motor and better for boost than an LS7 for longevity anyway. I like LS motors better than the LTs for sure
I also live in Albuquerque. I have been shopping for a Z06 C6, but after reading up and seeing everyone's experiences on boosting the LS7, I will be going the GS route.
Also, what is the best shop in Albuquerque to work on these cars?
Until the ls7 grenades....
But ya its an awesome motor other than that
Head work is a must have.
I like the premise of your upload. It's true! But that one is not stock !! Still, they are awesome and I have one in my 2014 Z28 Camaro.
One gear pull from 10-70? Holy shit, that's one hell of a 2nd gear and one hell of a engine to pull it that quick.
Speedo is off, probably put gears in it and didn't calibrate speedo
@@Broncofivepointslow Logical enough explanation, but with electronically managed setups, I should think this might produce a check engine light.
You guys do realize it's in km/h mode right.... Most car guys would notice the Speedo almost maxing out in second and come to that conclusion
@@TheOnlyTwitchR6 Good eye. I'm used to US units that show both with MPH dominantly to the outside. Still, I just realized that 70 km/h is roughly 43-45 mph and this is actually in 1st gear, not 2nd. My '84 Regal non-turbo 3.8 with 2.41 gears would do 40-45 in first gear, too, but it wouldn't get there in 1-2 seconds with wheel hop.
I feel like I could drive that road at those speeds in my crown vic and be just as stable
Anyone who's ever built an LS3 would never care about the LS7
Amazing
This is like how people who experience 4K cant go back to 1080p, and is a good reason I should not get a car with anymore hp than the one I currently have 300hp. It can get expensive.
My car has an ls7 in it, but now has a lq4 forged bottom end, supercharged, btr cam, and on Meth. I can say they feel different, but I wouldn't say the LS7 made me not like my set up now. If I build a 69 Camaro next, I will probably go with an LS3 boosted.
Check engine light on but still runs like a dream? Yup, it's a GM alright
I'd take just being that guy on the side of the road that got a free fly-by
I built up a 6.0L for my truck. Realized by the end of it all for not much more I could have built up a 7.0 gen III... Kind of kicking myself for not doing the 7.0L
Such a bad ass vette!
I made this statement about the Shelby. I got spoiled a couple years ago since my first mustang ride along was a 13’ GT500, I’ll never ever buy a GT
LS seven is my preferred engine. But I still want a 2650 supercharger.
LS7 is magic!
That sounds sooooooo fucking good!
That's true but supercharge that LS7 with magnusson and keep it safe at 600 rwhp and it is even better.
Then, I went to a C7Z automatic and truth be told I missed the LS7 manual still. What a great engine and trans package.
The auto in the C7Z was only great at WOT.
If you have a C6Z I suggest keeping it.
Then you haven't experienced a bolt ons ls3
I planned on keeping moving up with corvettes but I stopped at the C6Z
LS9 is the king of all LS engine's💪
LS7 is the son😎
Amazing car! But keep in mind his speedometer is set KPH. Highest speed was 105mph, not 170mph
Yeah but doesn't the speedometer go up to like 320 kph? American corvettes speedometers go up to 200 mph. If it does go up to 320kph then he was doing around 170mph.
@@victoralley708 No, the speedos are the same either way. The way it works is there are two dash lights you can switch between that say KPH or MPH. This can clearly be seen in the video that the green backlit KM/H is on. The speedo goes to 200 units of speed and can't be changed because they aren't a digital screen, just some lights behind a cutout in the instrument cluster. All it does is change how much the needle moves based on if it's set to mph or kph and the wheel speed. If it's set to kph the speedo can't measure speeds over 200 or 124 mph
No rev-matching at high rpm, nice

Im still deciding between a z06 and GS. But im deciding to actually track it and have a street friendly car. Although boosting would be fun I feel like its more viable to straight line racing only. The ls7 can still make 700hp NA ofcourse its gonna take a little bit more but always reliable. My issue is that the grandsport costs more than the z06 right now since they are less common.
Yeah but even talking about the McMurtry spierling makes me not wanna ever mod 🤣

This is hard for me, I liked my ls3 car more in a lot of ways over the z06 but the looks and the ls7 is a good combo, really disliked how tall the gears were in the z06 and worrying about the engine issues made me not live the car, but comparing engines when running the ls7 is much better, would I rather own one long term probably not

Everybody in the comments acting like an LS7 can take boost. Ductile-iron sleeves like the ones from Darton take care of that. Plus the LS7 cylinder head is by far superior compared to an LS3. Plus you have 427 cubic inches with the stock crank; all you need is pistons and rods for a boosted application. LS7 is king.
im having a hard time finding consistent info on the ls7. I'm curious how different is it from the ls6?
@@joshbugarsky9877 LS7 is a Gen IV engine whereas LS6 is Gen III. Main difference is bore size (4.125 vs 3.9 for LS1/6). Cylinder heads (452 vs 243 for LS6), valvetrain, intake manifold, cam, fuel system etc etc. Basically,. everything is upgraded on an LS7 versus an older Gen III.
The LS3 is superior in terms of reliability and tuning potential. This is a well-known fact.
While the ls7 is an na animal, I do disagree with the title. My best friend has a heads cam ls7, I do love the hell out of it. I’m also content with my bolt on cammed ls3, it’s a very well balanced reliable package that scoots. Also my friends ls7 has been down for the last 8 months because it decided to eat a main bearing. The ls7 is an awesome engine but it’s also the most finicky of ls engines, and the most expensive to rebuild.
That looks like fun!
I'll take a boosted LS3 over an LS7. It's just way more fun.

I thought it was a little bizarre that second gear would pull up to 120...then I saw the gauge cluster was in kph vs mph lol.
Nobody else realized this but you.
I disagree. The LS7 is a fragile engine that is somewhat prone to failure if not gone through. Fixing the oil issue and top end issues (adding a new cam since we’re this far into the engine) will put the price tag up to a Texas Speed 427 that is far superior.
