This foundation is just PERFECT! I got myself the shade NC11 and it is a great match! For reference I’m Flax in Clinique, 2 in Fenty Eaze Drops, Gobi in Nars. The formula is extremely comfortable, very skin-like and long wearing. I just love it so much! I have combination skin.

Shades running darker on this particular MAC foundation, I am always nc 30, nc 35 and I went for nc 17 on this one

I remember Mac was my very first foundation brand over a decade ago in my teens, and probably most peoples! This foundation looks really nice and glowy, I have dry skin and I find that the shiny glowy skincare foundations don’t last through my work shift. @@veraw4414 I’s too yellow so I had to mix some blue pigment in order to achieve an olive tone… I tried to get shade matched in store but the MAC employee confirmed there was no real match for my fair cool olive skin tone 🥲

I use the LA girl fountain mixers to help when my skin color changes or I buy the wrong shade. Saved me so much time taking stuff back.

I have dry skin and live in a humid country. The foundation texture and formula are really nice on my skin but I too have a problem with how this oxidizes on me, it turned a shade darker. I’ve tested this with the MAC Lightful C+ Coral Grass primer which kept the beautiful glowy look, with a little bit of Decorte loose powder in 10 Misty Beige dusted on my nose and sides of the nose and forehead. In general I think it wears well notwithstanding the oxidation. I’m kinda on the fence with this one cos I got the wrong shade. But I love the effect of the makeup once it settles even after about 6-8 hours.
I will probably pick this up in January when I need something for those dry months. I’m thinking about getting the other new MAC in the clicky pen. It seems like they have changed up their shades. You and i frequently are the same shade and NC 15 in the winter and NC 20 in the summer have been my shades for years!
Get a shade lighter than what I did bcs this one was too dark for me.
I am so excited to see your review of this foundation! I have tried some sample shades of this foundation and I absolutely love the finish. It gives skin the most beautiful luminous, glass skin finish without looking shiny or greasy. I hadn't expected it to work on my normal-combination skin but it really does look lovely.
Are there any particular powders you would recommend for setting a foundation like this one to retain the glowy finish, whilst helping with longevity? I set with MAC Mineralise Skinfinish and it kept the glowy finish to the foundation but it didn't last as well during the day. I used a matte translucent powder another day and it lasted better but I lost a little of the glow.
The main issue I have found with this foundation is picking the right shade match! I normally wear NW15 in MAC foundations but NW15 in this one was far too dark and the undertone of NW13 doesn't match my skin so well. I seem to be somewhere between either N18 or NC14.5. I'm trying out sample pots right now to narrow it down and settle on the right shade.
I think the Rare Beauty Loose Powder might work for that and also Flower Beauty has a glowy finishing powder; Hourglass as well.

Hi, I’m normally NW15 also, was NW13 to yellow or? And which shade did you choose eventually?
@@eefie77 NW13 was too yellow on me. I went back to the store and tried out N18 and N32 (which is the next shade up in the N spectrum). N32 seems to be a perfect match for me. It's worth trying out samples if you can as the shades are very different from the other MAC foundations.

Yeah I apparently chose wrong, but I'll make it work. A lot of shades have sold out on Ulta site and I can see why, this is a winner!

LOL!!! I have 3 more coming up in the next few days. Foundation is by far my fave to try bcs I had always suffered with acne when I was younger. I've been wearing foundation since middle school!!
The skin finish is nice on you , apart from I think it oxides a bit and a bit yellow for your skin tone.

I am debating on whether or not to give this foundation a try. They have it on ULTA, and I can always return it. I have dry and sensitive skin and am still looking for a foundation. I found that the YSL isn't too bad. For an expensive foundation, it works better than a lot of them, but I am still searching for that 1 foundation that will go on smoothly.
I would give this one a chance it’s been working well for me and like you said you can always return it.

Looks gorgeous on you. I have not had luck with any MAC foundation, all too drying on me and don’t look good on my skin. I’m thinking this will be the same on me since you didn’t find it too hydrating.
Yeah it felt more like a luminous matte at least on day 2. Maybe if you wore it without any helping products it might work for you but idk.

Great review. Agree re the color. They gave me a sample of NW13 and NC12. I am wondering if those other colors even exist as no one has them at my local mall. My skin is normal to dry and I live in very humid climate. I like it but didn’t find it gave the glow it did you. Face and Body better for that. And thanks for the advice re the Shiseido one. I don’t really like full coverage. Never have. 41 long gone. 73. Eek.

I actually like the MAC serum one. A few hours into the day and I do believe it blurs fine lines.

I've NEVER used any Mac foundation. Iam over 50 feel like Mac is more geared for younger skin. But......I might have to try this.

I also feel the opposite. I’m 47 and have gone back to MAC. I find their formulas and textures are kind to ‘aging’ skin.
