I hardly recognised you Steff from the thumbnail, you look do much younger and fresh, despite your a.c. being out. Fun fact: Shiseido is the oldest Cosmetic Brand in the world. I started using some of their products recently and have really loved them. Their prices are quite reasonable too, compared to other equal brands here in Australia. As I have terribly dry lips, their VisionAiry Gel Lipstick is wonderful and much better than the over-priced Chantecaille Lip Chics which everyone recommended. All that did was slide to the edges of my lips, despite liner and a Dior Wax liner around the edges. I'd recommend the VisionAiry Gel Lipstick any day and they come in a great array of colours. I also adore their Kajal Retractable Eye Liners which can be smudged out to shadow, which apply so softly, without travelling anywhere. They certainly stay put too! I was so surprised at the amount of products they had available which I hadn't noticed for quite awhile. They do have a good lot of foundations, including the Dior/MUFE - like Powerdered Foundation which is much cheaper in price. They appear to have one to suit everyone. I do hope your a.c. is fixed before you know it Steff and it'll just be a bad memory. Hang in there! Love from Australia.🇦🇺💖👩🏼🎨
Wow I had no idea they were the oldest brand?! That’s cool!! I’m glad this was my first impression of their cosmetics bcs it’s so good! My thumbnail was a still shot from video footage bcs I forgot to take pics lol 😂!! I’m glad it worked!
The synchro skin foundation is amazing! You definitely need to try it. The radiant version is like the Tom ford shade and illuminate but I prefer the original version over the radiant. I also feel like the shades adjust in their range because I can wear lace and linen just fine. One is 150 and I think the other is like 220 or something and they both work great for me.
Wow that’s good to know!! TF foundation is too expensive for me but I’ve tried samples and they seem to be good.
I LOVE Shiseido! Their eyelash curler is the only shape that is comfortable for me. The other ones are too wide. The tint looks great on you!

Oh my! This foundation is phenomenal! I have it and it stands up to our 107 degree Houston heat! Unbelievable! That is hard to find! Love it and makes me want to try the synchro now. Thanks for doing this one Dr Steff!

Thanks for the review! I love Shiseido and used to use a lot of their drugstore lines when I lived in Japan and also use their tsubaki shampoos, so whenever they release something new it piques my interest especially as they have good skincare, and I quite like skincare complexion products with SPF in them. This is pricy though, so probably out of my price range as it’s more expensive than other high end foundations like Dior, Guerlian etc. I so love Japanese beauty brands though
It was my first time trying and wow what a great first impression! I’d love to visit Japan one day!

Oh, Steff, I miss "the old days" of Shiseido cosmetics! Their eyeshadow trios were so, so beautiful, and the blushes were just stunning. Thank goodness they've continued producing beautiful foundations and their skincare line. This foundation looks really lovely on you, and I'm so glad you brought it to our attention, thank you! Awesome video, ma'am, and bless you for doing the work even though your A/C is out; as a native Texan, I can vouch for just how essential air-conditioning is for survival in Texas!

I've loved many of the Shiseido foundations - Synchro Skin Self Refreshing, Pure Radient , Radient Lifting and Synchro Skin Glow. In fact, I'm STILL trying to finish them!
Honestly, I don't know if I ought to be even considering a new foundation - last week, I did a declutter of my foundations and I still have 80+ left 🙈. I'll have to see how the matte version performs as this glowy one isn't for me. I much prefer a skin like/luminous/semi matte finish.

It's a good one! First time for me too!! I like both powders, it's hard to pick a fave right now. I think DM does a slightly better job at controlling oil though.
I’ve noticed when I’m getting older I do prefer more lightweight foundations my new favourite now is Chanel water tint

I would use my hands or a spatula approach. With Asian brands I find that gives me best application.

Hi, I really appreciated your through review of this foundation. I’ve been using it over the past week with Bare Minerals Matte Foundation, however, since seeing your review I think I may need to buy a matte primer to get better results.
That wouldn't be a bad idea! Milk Makeup has a nice matte primer and so does Smashbox and elf!

I was very impressed on both days, even though day 1 I was an oil slick it stayed on in very harsh conditions and never got cakey! So good!

Hallo Steff, Oh I am very intrigued. I haven't had Shiseido in me stash since Pandemic hit. I am waiting to see your review of the Mac one of these will be joining my stash for 2024 year. On the Too face palette swatched it and eek! the new Tarte maneater swatched nice yesterday though. great video ugh on the air conditioning.

I'm a fan of the Synchro Skin foundation. It's a solid medium coverage and held up even when I had to wear a mask all day.
As lovely as you look in this one, I am one to like more coverage. So I will probably pass.

I didn’t love haus labs on my dry skin I wonder if the shisedo would be better
It’s a thinner texture and feels my hydrating but I can’t say for sure that it will work for you.

It looks lovely, maybe the eyeshadow look is not suitable for this foundation because, as you said, it's very light. Anyway, you are great!😊
She's testing a new eyeshadow palette. Also, a fuller coverage foundation isn't needed to wear colorful eyeshadow. Steff looks beautiful.

No serum foundation will ever cover hyperpigmentation and acne.
You will need a concealer to get that ultimate full coverage.
