I Soooo ENJOYED this interview with Michelle. She worked for me in the late 90’s, when she was a medical transcriptionist. She used to bring both boys in to pick up tapes and drop off work, and was pregnant with Ali, and then we rejoiced when she had a girl. She was such a joy and lovely woman. Great interview !!!❤️❤️❤️

At the beginning of the podcast Lo was very reserved and Sarah was taking the helm. It appeared that Lo was holding back and Sarah was saying, “I got this, don’t worry”. Once the first impressions story came out, Lo became animated and more like the self she has been on previous episodes. SIL’s sticking together.
Lo was very quiet but mainly she was still. In every other episode Lo is bouncing her leg, changing positions and very animated. It was great to see her open up at the end.
I have known my MIL for 42 years and still have times of intimidation and uncomfortableness so just keep plugging along you two and enjoy and learn from your sweet MIL.

I’m only 10 minutes in but I definitely noticed Lo was much more reserved than usual-glad to know she gets back to her usually bubbly self-loooove that about her, I bet her MIL does too 😊

My grandmothers ARE the foundation of who I am today.
I love that you all have that connection, no matter the distance I always knew I could call my grandma and talk to her about ALL my problems ~ no strings attached.
She was my person on more than one occasion and didn’t judge me.
    These kids are blessed 🥹

Tanner is mom's golden boy. Moms really have a difficult time losing their influence over their sons as they enter manhood.
Tanner is so totally committed to Lo. Their dynamic is so lovely and relaxed. She brings out the best in him. They truly are one.
Mom may not be able to admit it to her self but she resents not having the influence she once had over Tanner. Although she will probably always have it with Derek because of his insecurities. However, Derek idolized Tanner so much that hopefully he will continue to emulate his brother until he's confident enough to be his own person.

You can tell that Sarah and the MIL get along better and have a better bond than Lo. Sarah looks at ease and comfortable, whereas Lo looks awkward and is unusually quiet. You can see here what Lo said before about her not being as welcomed when she married Tanner 😬

As a mom of 2 boys I can understand why Lo was not as warmly accepted . After hearing what she put Tanner through with the other guy I would imagine the trust was thin. I know I wouldnt have appreciated it if a girl ping ponged back and forth with my son. That being said I would think that by now all would be forgiven.

@@suebuchert7797 as a boy mom, I think it’s sexist and controlling for anyone, including Tanner’s family, to put any blame on Lo (or any young woman) for dating while Tanner is away on a mission for 2 years. If I taught my son that a girl needed to be patiently waiting for him to prioritize their relationship while he was off learning and growing for 2 years, then I did something wrong. The whole religious system is extremely sexist and controlling. Lo having a normal human reaction by dating and growing shouldn’t affect Tanner’s family. Kids grow through relationships..If that’s an issue then don’t send your son on a mission. I understand missions are important to people, but you can’t deny the systematic sexism that is the foundation of most religions. Moms need to respect their sons by showing love & acceptance to their significant other. It’s unfortunate when mothers can’t respect the autonomy of other young women & teach their son to do the same.

Sarah did mama a favor by taking on Dereck and all his drama. But nobody is ever going to be good enough for Tanner in mama's eyes. There's just one thing she can't have anymore and that's Tanner being in her family. Lo has Tanner's complete devotion as her husband first and foremost and as the father of his children. Mom has to take a back seat to all of that now. So there is bound to be a little resentment. Remember what she said about the whole dynamic of their family has changed. That's what I think she was addressing.

@@suebuchert7797Both girls had the same story. I honestly wish they hadn't told those stories. They should have kept that private. It would be hard as a mother in law to accept both of them over what they put those boys thru..Tanner especially. I wish I hadn't heard it. The mystery is gone, I see the cracks now😢

💖Your mother-in-law seems like a very lovely woman! I noticed that your husband’s definitely have her eyes shape…& look a lot like her. I really liked her advice! My advice is kinda the same as hers! Enjoy every stage, even the crazy, loud, unorganized, messy exhausting ones because it doesn’t get easier as they get older, it just gets different!! I used to think, it’ll get easier as they get older.. so I feel like if I had just been more present and just enjoyed all the moments more.. the crazy ones just as much as the good ones.. then I could’ve just embraced every moment more! And they do grow up so so fast, so just enjoy it all! It’s okay if you think your life is a little crazy or the house is way too messy, or they will never stay on a good schedule… it’s okay! And another thing I learned… all kids learn to develop at their own time! One baby might walk at 8 months, your baby might walk at 13 month… same with potty training! Don’t compare your baby with others because it will make you stress out too much! So what if your kid is wearing a pull up later than other kids! It’ll all work out eventually! God bless!❤🙏🏼🕊️🙌🏽☀️🎶🙌🏽🕊️

When she accepts that she's likeable, her presence is enough, and just a few words can be way more impactful than many, she'll thrive.

It sucks that Lo is being shamed by anyone, including Tanner’s family or MIL, for dating when it is completely normal and IMO imperative to one’s growth as an individual and in relationships. Can we just acknowledge that the structure of most (if not all) religions are sexist? I’m not gonna teach my son that 1. A girl needs to prioritize your relationship while you’re off on a mission, learning, exploring & growing. Or 2. That I, as a mom, have say or control in your relationship or how you choose to operate with a woman once you’re an adult. If I taught you right, you’ll be treating your significant other with respect & love. It’s discouraging to see older generations of women continue to instill sexist beliefs onto young women. We need to teach our sons to respect every woman’s autonomy.

I love Sarah. But she has a habit of over talking people on the show. Lo was so quiet and reserved. It seems Sarah asked all the questions too. I think she gets too excited and just goes a mile a minute. I know she would never on purpose to cut people out. She just has to learn to let others talk too Lo needs to speak up more and they need a game plan. Like each gets to ask a certain about of questions. To make it fair.
For the boys Mom what a beautiful lady inside and out. She has every right to be proud of her boys. They are good men ,sons husband and fathers. Very decent human being. Their parents did an awesome job of raising them. I can tell you that’s why I love watching the family so much. It’s so good to see a family that cares so much for each other so much. Tanner two daughters are so sweet to each other. I hope they keep this going on forever. Seeing a clean family show means a lot to me. Both girls and their husband are so laughing. They both have wonderful awesome families. God Bless you all 🙏🏼🙏🏼✨🙏🏼✨🙏🏼✨🙏🏼✨🩷🩷🩷
