I can do so later when I get some guest speakers on the show, but from what I'm hearing salaries are in the 180-220 starting range with bonuses in the 40-100k range depending on how long you sign on for. You can see all the salaries posted on gaswork.com and you will see listings in small towns in the 250-270k range. Typically the more desirable places to live (big cities) pay less

Is it the CAA the one who leads the reanimation or you actually have an Anesthesiologist helping you out?

In a situation like this the designated code team and your attending will be called and you would all work together.

    Hello Jonah,
I'd like to become a CAA. However, I don't have any medical experience other than taking care of my grandmother. I don't wish to volunteer, and shadowing is dead. I also don't want to become a tech first because I'd day a step backward financially, which I cannot afford to do. Do you know of any program/way I can do all my pre-requisites and be admitted to CAA school even if I don't have the volunteer/shadow experience?

Leave your ego at the door. Shadowing is a hard requirement everywhere and work/volunteer experience can be completed part time in addition to your main job. If your grades are amazing you can maybe get in without it but admissions want to see applicants put some skin in the game and invest time into this process.
Also I made a LOT of money as a tech so keep an open mind

So the CAA runs the code?! I’m an RT & I’m trying to understand 🤷🏾‍♀️😂

A hospital/OR is likely to have a code team or senior attendings available but a CAA still needs to be ACLS trained and know how to respond in their absence
