- Today I'm recommending 7 different original Playstation games which can be had all together for under a hundred dollars! It was difficult to put this list together because I wanted the games to have the most mass appeal rather than just choose my favorite titles. So if you're interested in older games from this generation I think you'll find some fun ones here!
I had to re-upload this video because it was blocked due to me playing the intro to Smackdown 2. The intro is now removed so hopefully there won't be any more issues.
Yes a re-upload! Seen it was copyrighted thing from the wrestling game. Weird. Anywho, I totally had a video recorded and just needed editing I was wanting to post. Just like FAN had over the $100 challenge on NES games. I was going to mention you and challenge you to do one on the Playstation 1! You beat me to it anyways lol. I love seeing the different games people mention. You definitely did good because like you mentioned the prices on some of our favorites are high. The only other rpg I can think of that was high quality and still affordable would be legend of dragoon. I need to talk about that one at some point. Crono Cross definitely had amazing music. I watched that starting sequence many times when I got it on release. Not as good as CronoTrigger imo, but solid. Thanks for reading my mind and doing a PS1 video Phil lol.

Yes Legend of Dragoon, the Final Fantasy games and Star Ocean are the only high quality RPGs that I can think of that are still under 50 bucks. Even Xeno Gears which I bought for 40 bucks a few years ago is a hundred bucks more now!
@@philberto78 $40 was a great deal. Xenogears is excellent. One of my favorite battle systems. Sad thing was it wasn't finished on release. That's why we seen the main character sitting in a chair and "explain" what we should have gotten to experience and play ourselves, but got cut short due to time. The director made the decision to cut the content and add what he felt was a better ending. Square suggested to just end it on disc 1, but disc 2 was squeezed out with just enough time and budget to spare after the content cuts. I well. At the time the story was still over my head lol. I need to play it again. Probably when I retire lol.
@@TheAlphaOmegaX3 I've yet to play more than the demo for Xenogears but I'll definitely play it someday. I know how it goes with getting into long JRPGs when you're an adult with responsibilities haha. It's sad they never realized their vision when making it though and had to resort to the guy in the chair. The Xenosaga games also had kinda rough developments I think. Xenoblade Chronicles seemed like the first Xeno game that mostly had it's act together lol
@@philberto78 Yeah. The time and budget. Yes definitely play Xenogears at some point. It's a very deep mature story that questions human existence and God ect. The battle system feels more in line with a turn based fighting game with button combinations and combos you manually chain together. Very cool and unique. Never have I seen it done before elsewhere. Next time I play a jrpg, it will be Grandia for PS1. I played the sequel and I have always wanted to play the first since it's release. Best combat system I've had the pleasure to play hands down that also was found no where else. Grandia 2 on Dreamcast was where I played the sequel. I know they released a Grandia collection on PS4 and Switch. I might go that route when the time comes.
@@TheAlphaOmegaX3 Actually I was just playing Grandia earlier this year but I got sidetracked playing Subnautica I think. I'm about half way through it and really need to go finish it. It's good but moves rather slowly through the plot. You should definitely give it a try when you've got the time buddy, very unique PS1 game.
It is strange how UA-cam removes videos just cause they contain old games that have a CR. Just bizarre.
Yes it was weird. The video passed all the youtube checks when I uploaded it but a few days later I got an email saying the WWE manually reviewed my video and requested it blocked. I mean, is some nobody on youtube recommending a 20 year old video game really a threat to their business??
