Getting out for one more EPIC winter adventure. We strap on the snowshoes and carry our gear into the deep snow in the Vancouver Island Backcountry where we post up our tent in a big pile of snow right on the lake. Diesel can't get enough of the snow.

Aunt Chris and I were curious, do you know why the Whiskey Jacks are banded, never seen that here
There's a naturalist studying the Pacific populations in Strathcona Park to see if they compare to the behavioural patterns of other populations. So each bird has a combination of bands and they are observing how long they live, how big their territories are, and the details of their social and nesting behaviours!
