Hi, that would normally be done in camera. Have you only a clean HDMI option or can you also enable camera info on the HDMI output? If so then you will see exactly what you see on the cameras own back LCD display with all the recordings info. If you can only use a clean output with no camera info then as far as I know there is no way to enable a timer, sorry.
I have bought monitors and there was no HDMI cable of any kind in the box. I suppose the thinking is that's a standard cable. The other two are a bit more difficult to pick up.
