This broke my heart. One of the first things she said to him after opening the door was 'don't hurt me' He responded as though she had no right to make that request and proceeded to treat her like she was beneath him. I hate that she died in such fear and at the hands of someone who didn't want to 'waste' his medical supplies on her after he had used excessive force and ended her life. RIP Sonya

The judgement in his voice in the entire video was unnecessary. He was looking around her house in disgust and treating her like a hostile instead of what she was; a sick woman who called for help. He TOLD her to get the pot of water. The deputy did not knock on the door, he beat on it with his fist and did not identify himself, until the fourth or fifth time.
The deputy did not stand in front of the ring camera on the door after he beat on the door, so he could be seen.
The deputies walked in the home uninvited and searched the home.

In example; Capitol Police vs. Ashli Babbitt: Ashli Babbitt was shot in the neck and killed by a capitol police officer, Ashli Babbitt was unarmed and at worst was trespassing. Ashli Babbitt had not thrown boiling water at a police officer, yet it was determined that the capitol officer had not committed murder or done anything inappropriate. George Floyd died from the 4 times lethal dose of fentanyl and meth in his system due to Floyd swallowing it before arrest. She is in the kitchen at the sink, and the cop is standing in the living room in front of the large block kitchen counter that separates the kitchen from the living room. Look at the spacial relationship closely.
IF she were to throw the pot of water toward him it would of immediately projected downward onto the kitchen floor with no chance of passing over top the large block kitchen counter in front of him.
A large pot of water that size weighs at least 10 to 15 pounds and she's relatively small frame. I did an experiment and filled a large pot of water of similar size and threw the water out of the pot and guess what happened?? The water immediately projected downward onto the floor as expected.
The distance between them was approximately 20 Feet or more and there was no possibility of the water traveling like an arrow in flight over top of the large block kitchen counter he was standing behind in the living room. IF he were in her immediate presence IN THE KITCHEN I could see why he would of reacted the way he did, but that was NOT at all the case.

@@archangelvvv I just got done time stamping the body cam video on another channel and Grayson actually Continues to shout out "DROP THE F*CKING POT" Two more times AFTER he had already shot her and she's on ground bleeding out. Why's he still yelling that, if he insists she threw the pot. ?? Looks to me from this video, that she raises the pot in front of her head for protection. Looks empty. Also sounds like her sink water is still running... when someone is down trying to stop the bleeding out.. as she's agonal breathing to her death. Appears she had dumped the boiling water into her sink. Left water running bcuz the officer flipped out on her. Here the time Stamps for the other video so you can see written down what happened in those immediate SECONDS.. He was still yelling "DROP THE F*CKING POT" AFTER he shot her. So she's still holding onto the pot while she is actively on the ground bleeding to death. The clip shown in this video.. if you look at the pot and how she has it held above her head. You're looking at the inside bottom of the pot. That makes it empty. She didn't have any burn wounds from boiling water on herself either so pot was empty. Appears the pot grabbed lastminute was for self protection. He'd already told her he would "SHOOT YOUR F*CKING FACE"
fight or flight mode is instinctual for survival. Pot was closest thing she could use as a shield of her face/head. That's my take on things.

As a US Army Veteran that served honorably, I can tell you that if a serviceman separates from one branch of service and receives an OTH (Other Than Honorable) discharge, that serviceman is banned from future enlistments in all Armed Forces Branches and Federal employments. So a person that separates from the US Army with an OTH discharge can't turn around an enlist in the US Navy. However, you know what that serviceman can do? The serviceman can join a law enforcement agency. This is how a person with 2 DUIs and a General discharge from the US Army finds their way to an law enforcement agency 6 times. So my question is how that George Floyd Police Reform Act going we were promised by Joe Biden 4 years ago? Oh that's right! It got scrapped after he was elected. In fairness, Trump said he would give police officers MORE immunity to "do their jobs". So we see a complete failure by the system said to protect the rights of citizens by allowing people to become law enforcement officers that have no business being in that position. So again, when will the American people get police reform to prevent this sorts of people from find their way on to law enforcement agencies? No one is talking about that.

So I just went into the house without answering his questions. He said he was all set up to become a Wyoming State Trooper when we asked why he was getting out of the US Army only to join Law Enforcement? With a smirk but seriousness on his face, he said he was joining the police because police officers were 9 times more likely to shoot and kill someone than a soldier in the US Army. This was before the internet so there was no way to verify if he was hired or not but, knowing Law Enforcement he more than likely became a state trooper. Dr. Grande is not considering precedent law and is therefore making an inaccurate decision when stating that he thinks that the police officer was guilty of even 2nd degree murder. Therefore, in this case, throwing boiling water at an officer can be justified to kill said offendant. ~Scott Greene Esq. Attorney at law

Israelis operate in war mode to all instances involving Palestinians. In combat, their's a military term that Westerners heavily rely on when dealing with occupied indigenous people called: (wait for it) "Escalation Dominance." Also, his demeanour from the jump said it all. He spoke about her "being dead" before entering the property (before she answered the door) and, when she did answer the door, you can hear on the video her repeatedly saying "please don't hurt me" & praying. It was clear to anyone that she was scared and vulnerable and, to me, that's where he made a decision. The call had reached a natural conclusion and they could have left.
Instead, he led an escalation, as soon as his partner was away from him (and no longer recording him). I say that he lead it because he forcefully entered her home and, if she had escalated and he was fearful, going in would be a stupid thing to do. From the footage we got to see of the direct aftermath of this, she is clearly backing away from him into the house, in fear of him. He closed the door behind him straight after he went in. This would limit an escape route if he was in fear and the only real answer was that it was an effort to limit what was recorded. Along with his bodycam being switched off, this suggests that he knew that what he was doing was wrong and he was taking active steps to try and hide his behaviour.
If he thought she needed help or was a threat, he could have backed off at any time (he was between the victim and the exit) - but he went into the property, ratcheted up the tension, threatened to shoot her in the face, had barely finished warning her before drawing his weapon, and did not take any of the many non-lethal options available (like leaving). He led her to the pot (she didn't choose to get it, it was at his instruction) and, as soon as he thought she had a weapon (judging from the amount he referred to it as one later) went straight to lethal force. He knew she was terrified from her behaviour outside, yet instead of de-escalating (or leaving if he didn't have those skills), he piled on the pressure by screaming. A reasonable person would expect someone to act in self defence to that provocation. A reasonable person would also just step back - that water was no threat from someone her size at that distance.
If I was on the jury, I'd find him guilty of first degree murder, because he actively incited a problem where there was none and, once inside, turned a "non event" into a death by playing on the weaknesses he had observed.
I would also like to see his record, because I don't believe for a single second that she is his first victim.

Now, I can definitely argue that the pot, whether full of water or not, could have been dodged easily enough with reaction time and agility that should be required of an officer and that we have no reason to believe he didnt have. She wasnt going to get more boiling hot water from anywhere.
Boiling water in the eyes can leave you blind. Do I think this officer should have fired a lethal weapon at her, not even remotely. Nor should he have ever been hired (but that is the fault of the department) Was he under serious imminent danger to permanent life altering harm to himself, yes. Should he have been able to avoid that easily, also yes. Outside of that, I feel he kind of instigated the situation a bit, what the reasons for that are, one could only speculate.

1- He threatened to shoot her in the head before doing so. Premeditation. 2- She put the pot down and he advanced on her. Her position, combined with keeping a distance would have protected him because 3- She moved the pot from the stove to the sink and added more water. This would have brought the water below boiling. 4- If water is thrown, it disperses and is cooled by the air as it travels. The greater the distance, the more it cools. (Ask any mechanic about this concept.) 5- He had his hand on his gun when she was not making any move which could have been interpreted as a threat. 6- It's questionable whether she would have gone to the stove at all if he had not said something about the boiling water.

From the start, it was said, the monster did not have his cam on….so what happen with that? He decides to turn it on in the middle of thinking he’s about to be burned and he’s going to shoot somebody in the face. I don’t think so.
What’s crystal clear is this monster committed cold bloody 1st degree murder. Even if he thought this woman was going to drench him with hot water(which I doubt) , he could’ve left, move back and be gone…..not move towards what he perceived to be threat, so he can get his jollies shooting somebody in the face….and anyone thinks it was ok for him to shoot this woman is simply a walking devil. There is a serious shortage and demand for police officers ever since "defund the police" and police officers are being charged with murder even when it's obvious that the police officer was acting appropriately i.e. George Floyd who had committed a crime, did not comply with police commands and was resisting arrest. George Floyd died from the 4 times lethal dose of fentanyl and meth in his system due to Floyd swallowing it before arrest. This is only being done to white officers but it also demoralizes police at large, especially when they are being demonized and defunded. This is the natural result from said actions.

As someone working in Law Enforcement who has a background in behavioral health, the gun is the last tool that needs to be drawn! Even in the military if youre pistol qualified, they encourage taser or pepper spray first! They have to be within a specific distance to shoot. This is basic law enforcement 101. Anyone excusing the cops shooting an unarmed w0man in cold blood is sick themselves. There was an entire countertop in between them. What hes portraying is that hes scared of black people or doesnt trust them. If you cant see that, then you dont know how to read people. He was playing in your face. And anyone who is pistol qualified knows that you dont shoot that close next to your partner, those shells are hot! The fragments that bust out of the M9 or M17 police standard hand guns ricochet like crazy. I had two of the shells go down the back of my uniform shirt when my partner shot that close to me.

Not only that, but it would’ve been difficult to throw a full pot of boiling water without her hurting herself especially from such a distance. Even if the pot was half full, or less than half full. The pot was pretty big and most likely hot so it wouldn’t of have been easy for her to handle it in such a way where she could throw the water successfully from such a distance without herself getting burned. At the end where it appears she did throw it, it was most likely considerably cooled down and didn’t seem to have much, if any, water at all. And even if it was still boiling hot, she most likely threw it as a last ditch effort to try and protect herself.
