Comet ISON is still more than two months away from its spectacular close encounter with the sun. Already, the brightening comet has become a good target for backyard telescopes in the pre-dawn sky.

I kinda hope ISON passes at the exact moment of the polar shift of the sun. Odds of it happening are amazingly slim. But it could have awesome effects.

This will be a great season for comets. Around the same time as ISON another comet Lovejoy will be visible too, hopefully it's just as good as the last Lovejoy :)

  • @gforce833
    @gforce833 10 років тому

It does, they had some photos with Hubble but it was a couple of weeks ago. The point here is that even amateur with small telescopes can see it.
In a few weeks even a pair of binoculars will do :)

Question... If they know this is the first time this commit has ventured into the inner solar system , then , what sent it in this direction as I assume it has come from the ort cloud?

I seen it on thanksgiving day around 5 p.m. for like only a few minutes with no telescope beautiful and it was obvious what it was..ealier in the week same thing happened only this time a lot more visible..very rare and a little scary I'd you think about it..

Now when Comet Ison brakes up, and it will brake up, the comets tail becomes the comet, a string of pearls stretching our for millions of miles, and Our Planet goes through the tail, goes through the comet, or to be more to the point, the pieces of comet goes through us.

The comet 'ISON' was discovered on September 21st, 2012 by Artyom-Kislovodsk and Vitaly Nevsky using the International Scientific Optical Network’s (ISON) 0.4 metre reflector telescope. ... Obviously they used the capital letters in the name of their organization as a name for the new comet. Therefore the name ISON has zero links with any other names, whether they are religious names or not.

The usual earth mag field strength fluctuated today here in various locations from well under 100mg to 260mg. Instead of usual 490mg, +- 50 tops. Location NW shore lake Superior. Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. I've been checking often for few mths. Avoiding metal. Same various places as always. Either the field is half strength or an opposing field is reducing it here, like Sun, HAARP, Cell towers, etc. The cell had trouble getting a compass north fix, due to weak field, mini pole, interference??

"Cometary nuclei are composed of an amalgamation of [small pieces of] rock, dust, water ice, and frozen gases such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, methane, and ammonia." ... ('Astronomy and Astrophysics'; Greenberg, J. Mayo; 1998.) .... en . wikipedia . org / wiki / Comet

  • @StonesDunedin

So, what are its current coordinates? If it exists *somebody* must know its coordinates. ... If astronomers know the right ascension and declination coordinates they will be able to point their telescopes at that exact spot in Space, and prove whether there really is an object there. ... That's how science works -- somebody makes a claim or hypothesis, and evidence is provided by many other people (mainly scientists, astronomers, etc.).

Also did you see the chinese images with the 2 objects circling /guiding the comet . This will crack you up the new Lynx Apollo advert shows a comet travelling through an asteroid belt with 2 objects travelling around it . Seriously are they taking the p$ss lol.

How do you know that it exists if you can't see it?
We can see outside of our galaxy, but we can't still see that nibiru of yours that should've been a little further away from pluto, eh?
Plus your dear comet missed 12.12.21, so really, all tables are turned agianst you.

Is there a reason why Science@NASA credited some of the images but not others? Several people happily contributed images, but are not credited at all. That jeopardizes the entire campaign when NASA uses images without proper annotations, because now those folks are leery of contributing... Please fix! Or remove the images. They are not yours!

The Earth's upper atmosphere already incinerates the vast majority of small and medium sized space rocks (observed as meteors or 'shooting stars'). .. So, what do you think would happen to pieces of 'dirt and ice'? .... Are you are doomsayer perhaps? Your year was *last year (the month of December to be precise!)

"ISON will pass 0.429 A.U. or 64.2 million kilometres from Earth the day after Christmas. Bruce Willis can stay home for this one." ('Comet ISON: A Viewing Guide...", ... universetoday . com) So, the path of the comet and its tail will be a *long* way from Earth. ... Don't believe what trolls and doomsayers try to tell you. There is usually zero evidence to backup their crazy claims.

It basicly is, because it's other name is PLANET X.
And others calll it PLANET NIBIRU.
Another proof of fake, because they can't even descide if it's a star, a comet, or a planet.
Plus If Nibiru is a star, COMET ISON can't be it, sience you know... IT'S A COMET.
