One thing I’d like to see is independent studies of the various components in this supplement. Even assuming that the results hold up, it is possible that the benefits are due to only one or two components in this vitamin cocktail, and the other components may be useless or even detrimental to the effect. Given that this is fairly expensive supplement, removing unnecessary components would be one way to reduce costs.
@Bully Stark Holland Diet won't affect floaters. Any UA-cam video or site that claims you can consume something that will improve floaters is false. The vitreous has no blood supply and nothing in your diet can reach or impact floaters in any way.
@Bully Stark Holland Vitrectomy is the gold standard for removing floaters. Yes, there is risk, as in any surgical procedure. You have to weigh the benefits. Diet will not change your floaters.
My specialist recommended this supplement and I'm on my fifth month. I have a LOT of floaters and I'm not a good candidate for other treatments. Over time with this supplement, my vision has become more "comfortable" and I was unsure if I had a floater reduction. A recent visit to my specialist showed a good reduction in the floaters and I don't have as many large masses of flaoters. I'll continue this supplement and we'll see what my next exam in 6 months shows.
Thanks for this video. With my anxiety unmanaged I’m constantly fearing floaters and other anomalies. I really pray for non-invasive cures. Keep pushing this research! Thanks again
the treatment is to fly out to one of the top rated doctors who will perform a Vitrectomy and pray you don't lose your vision. Are you floaters bad enough to the point you would risk a roughly 3% chance of your vision being impaired for them to go away?
Hello, just to let you know in Bulgaria one of the vitamin complexes that we use for eye floaters is called Corpolin. It actually has exactly the same ingredients but it's as twice as cheaper.Greeting from Europe
@@DavidRose-m8spatents are enforced on a national basis, according to Wikipedia. So a pre-existing similar product in Bulgaria likely would have no effect upon a patent filed in the US. Also, all of the ingredients are freely available for sale separately here in the US.
As an artist who has suffered with eye floaters since my 20s, this is incredibly good news! I've looked with dread on the degeneration of my vision, due to its link with my income. In the last couple decades, the prognosis has gone from "it's just something that happens as we get older; you'll have to live with it," to "can be moderated with surgery." To hear that there may now be pills to counter or prevent it... miraculous! I imagine it's how people must have felt in the previous century, with the advent of ASA and antibiotics. I sincerely hope that this study is followed up by neutral parties, with a larger test group. I'll be watching eagerly!
@@TheCdchance That's rough! I'm a character design artist myself, with just a mess of floaters in each eye - though only a couple are of any great size. Working digitally allows me some assistance, as I can blow up the details as big as my monitor allows. Still it feels like just staving off the inevitable. Let's both keep hoping for advancement!
I have been on vitreousHealth for about 100 days. My specialist indicated that I should try this for 6 months. I have PVD with several large floaters in each eye. I have not seen any noticeable improvements, but it has not worsened. Will continue to take this every day until I have reached 6 months, and contact my specialist with the results and request appointment for a new scan.
This is big. I certainly hope they go forward with this study and making it more fleshed out. I got my first floaters 1.5 years ago and it greatly effected my quality of life and how I saw the world around me. Nowadays I'm adapting to them more and more, but man these videos do give me hope. While niche, I'm glad there are a few people who are actively working on cracking the code to this issue once and for all. I believe the eyes truly are the windows to the soul, and I think everyone deserves to have clear windows :)
I have had floaters since I was 16. Now I am 23 and floaters bother me basically every day now. They did not bother me much for years but after I got a job recently looking at 3 monitors 6+ hours a day my floaters seem to have gotten bigger, darker, and more obtrusive to my vision. I really hope there is more research done on this topic too since eyesight can be very important to ones health and mind and I believe everyone deserves clear vison as well.
Same situation with me, had them for 1.5 years also. These type of studies are great to see and I hope the work continues! From what I hear, there is more and more research into this field lately, so fingers crossed!
I have been taking the supplement referenced in this video for about four months now. As yet I have noticed somewhat less floaters, but not enough to really conclude there is a true reduction. I will continue on and report back if the improvement continues. Thanks much for the video!
Try Keto, eleminate carbs from your diet. My floaters had become extremely annoying. They were gone within the first week on Keto, along with my acid reflux, arthritis in my hips, and water retention in my feet and ankles.
@@LizardMane I've never eaten tofu, so I don't know anything about it. But check out the carbs in a typical serving, and take into account anything you use to flavor it. I keep my total carbs per day between 30 to 45. The easiest way to look at Keto is you eat meat and large salads and that has worked very well for me. With very low carbs, my food cravings have disappeared. And with a higher fat intake, I have no problem eating once a day and not feeling at all hungry until the next day. I do eat fruit but keep the serving to one a day, and often portion it to half an apple or banana, or one small mandarin orange. Carbs in salad greens are so low and come with fiber, you don't have to count them. Keto lets you eat fat in ways that are forbidden in other diets. You don't have to stick with only chicken breasts, you can eat the leg quarters, and you can eat the skin. There are many sugar substitutes and the UA-cam is full of recipes for bread or pizza using substitutes for flour. It sounds complicated but it's really quite easy. There are also Keto coaches on UA-cam. Dr. Ekberg, Dr. Berg, and Dr. Becky Gillaspie are my favorites.
Came here from the Diary of a CEO. I loved the scientific talk and the information that was provided, but it was the last bit of the interview that tied everything together for me. The lived experience, the transformative power, the inspiration for your profession.. we often time only see the organisations or the fields behind individuals.., so it was great to also see the person behind it all. Great work and looking very forward to more eye-health information and research💡
I improved mine by increasing my insulin sensitivity. I started getting them about 10 years or more before I began to show symptoms of pre-diabetes. My father started getting them about 10 years before developing full blown type 2 diabetes. I would suggest causation to be all about your insulin levels (and therefore blood glucose levels). Resolving them completely is another matter.
Oh geez, I’ve had floaters since I was a kid. I’ve also gotten those skin tags and dark spots on skin that are also supposedly related to insulin. And my dad just recently got diabetes. But, I tried keto or low carb for about two years and have come to the conclusion it’s not for me. So idk what to do.
I’ve been using this supplement for around 4 months and seen major improvement. My floaters don’t bother me as much at all and I definitely recommend trying it out.
My comment is about eye floater, not the study. A friend recommended Bilberry for eye floaters stating it got rid of hers. So I bought a bottle to try for myself. This was almost 20 years ago, but I remember my floater problem was much improved. When that bottle was finished I never continued taking Bilberry (I live on a fixed income). Just throwing this out there. Thank you Doctor for always providing us with the latest, cutting-edge treatment and science of eye care and health.
I have horrible floaters so I find this very interesting. I already take Vitamin C and zinc so perhaps I’ll start by adding lysine. Please keep us updated on any new findings. It’s a step in the right direction and I’m always hopeful. Thanks Dr. Allen!☺️
@@Blondie-le9ox intermittent fasting is a diet regimen but only eat during specific windows which results in weight loss. Do a search on UA-cam for the specifics.
Those ingredients are commonly found in supplements and food. For example, Lysine is an amino acid (protein) found in meat and beans, and it should be easy to get the 0.125 grams Lysine found in those pills mentioned, just by eating some meat or milk every day. Zinc, C, easy to get in vitamin-mineral supplements, or I like the Elderberry (sambucus) gummies with zinc and C added. Hesperidin you can get by taking a squirt of lemon juice, or any citrus juice every day, or taking a supplement. Grape seed extract (and other berry extracts) are easy to find as supplements. So you don't have to buy the expensive VitreousHealth supplements, they're probably priced too high.
@@James_Bee No I’m just not cheap and can afford it. You have fun wasting your time buying and making those foods, I’ll just take a pill. Jokes on you 🤡

This makes perfect sense. I didn’t understand what eye floaters were made of until the video. After a deeply traumatic event, I aged physically quite a bit. I ended up with such severe floaters that I was having trouble seeing in bright sunlight. These floaters seemed to have cleared up, back to a normal level after 6 months or so. So I guess all my collagen broke down all at once, made horrible floaters and got washed away eventually. Just a theory
I'm sorry you had experienced something awful and had affected your health. Might I ask what doctor you went to to check your vision and to help come up with a treatment plan? I, too, have gone through something, my hair grayed and most fell out, my vision became awful, I lost weight, etc. I hope you are doing much better.
Same happened to me - I had a very traumatic time for about 18 months and my eyesight deteriorated, including loads of floaters. They have reduced but I still have more than I started with. Hope things are much better for you now
@@sookheeweber5775 Thank you for your reply I think if you are over 50, it is more likely to move out of your vision. I’m wandering if that is because of the supplement or not.
Hello doctor, I am a 20-year-old student from Taiwan, and I know you because of eye floaters. I am highly myopic, and I started to have eye floaters two months ago. At the beginning of this month, the hole in the retina of my left eye has been repaired by laser, but there are still many floaters in both eyes. Pain, strips, and a black spot, (I’m only 20 years old, I feel hopeless now), I know there is no safe treatment, but I still don‘t give up looking for ways, like eating some Traditional Chinese medicine, lutein, I heard that it is useful to try it 😂, and looking around for new information on the treatment of floaters, I accidentally saw your video of the doctor, let me know more about floaters, I hope the doctor in the future More videos about eye floaters can also be released, and I hope that a safe treatment for eye floaters will appear soon.
I have tried it for 3 months now, it seems to work ok. I had a detached retina in my right eye a year ago and had Pigmentary glaucoma diagnosed in my late 20’s(54 now). After my retina surgery I noticed larger floaters that developed in my right eye. It was large enough and centered in my vision to distort my ability to see clearly. They gave me the same possible treatment you showed. Laser to vaporize, but the doctor didn’t want to do this so close to my retina reattachment. So I saw your video on supplements and found Vitreous Health. It seems to have minimized the floaters.
I stopped using sugar about five years ago and all my floaters disappeared. Took a little time but I really didn’t notice they were gone until one day I realize they were even more
For everyone who has eye floaters and are currently in panic: keep on reading. I first encountered floaters when I was about 19 but somehow they moved out of my field of vision, then at 27 I suddenly had a bunch of them. At that time I also had bad anxiety, stress etc and I couldn’t stop looking for the floaters that it became a daily obsession. But: I overcame it. It WILL get better! Try to find the core of where the anxiety comes from, maybe with a little more help like therapy or someone you trust to talk to. Strangely, I still have floaters but I barely notice them because I’m not scared of them anymore. The mind is the magic! If I can do it, you can do it too!
What kind of floaters do you have? Are they static? I feel like it's impossible to ignore mine. Got them 7 months ago, but the problem is they float all over my vision when I move my eyes especially from down-up, then slowly settle down. It's been very hard since then.
After a retina detachment and 3 surgeries to repair it and save my eyesight, I look at floaters and occasional flasher in center of vision as a cue to drink more water. If I stay well hydrated all that floater activity is lessened.
@@jazzmin4118Give it some time, it’s completely valid to feel sad and it took me a long time too. I think it’s been more than 2 years now and I have accepted them.
Another great video, thanks, doc. I started taking omega 3 supplements after I watched one of your videos about dry eye syndrome, and I feel the floaters are also better. I am now 55 and I have been suffering them since around 30.
My Doc prescribed me this multivitamin, it has helped me significantly. I have bad anxiety, nearly 10 floaters in both eyes, I was not able to continue with my everyday work. I used to stay indoors, in the day time. I have started using them from last month, trust me it has reduced the visibility of floaters, they are still present but they do not interfere with my vision anymore. Now, I am able to do my daily activities. I never thought these floaters would fade away, But thank god they are reducing. I am grateful to my Doc and God. I have tried salmon fish oil supplements as well along with multivitamin. Feel free to ask any questions, I’ll be glad helping you.

When I was a kid we didn't have eye specialists in our province (Canada) and as it turned out my family doctor, Grant, had spent some time studying eyes and was as close as we had to an ophthalmologist. When I was about eight he was checking my eyes, I mentioned the floaters, he said they are normal to have and I said, "Well, when they block my vision I just swing my eyes and they slide out of the way for a few seconds" and he said "No you don't, floaters don't move.". Boom! At eight my trust in doctors was blown. I knew what I saw and he was telling me I didn't see it. There was only one conclusion: He didn't know what he was talking about. And that left me with "And what else does he not know that he doesn't know?" I never went back to him though he treated my family for more than a decade before and after that. I couldn't, I considered him an idiot. Anyway, now I have a heart specialist telling me I can't feel when I go in and out of atrial fibrillation. He's wrong too. I not only feel it when I go in, I feel it when my heart is on the verge of going into AF but does not. I really wish doctors weren't such assholes with information they haven't studied sufficiently. It ruins trust. BTW, I have an internist who says "sure, some people can tell when they go into AF, or are going to, sure, that's normal". At least doctors are still (but who knows how long...?) permitted to disagree with each other.
You're a special dude (or dudette). You have comprehended the signals of your body. We used to call people like that gifted. You have more awareness than most. I am the same way. Very observant and can control by body and my environment around me by just reading signals. You should write down your experiences in a book. One of your offspring or family members might get the awareness too.
@@complexity5545 Awareness? really? How about this: If you are standing in your bare feet, do you feel you feet pressing on the floor? If so, do you call that "awareness"? It's like that to me, I don't "feel for it" or "quiet my thoughts and body so as to catch the drift of it", when I'm in what I call "peri-AF" I have a flutter sensation under my chest that feels almost like a gas bubble moving from one side to another except that it's a very specific sensation. EVERY time I've gone into AF I've had that sensation first. Not only that, I can feel the transition, and I can 'bear down' and artificially raising my BP which (for me) ALWAYS helps avoid any kind of rhythm issue. Anyway, these are not subtle sensations for me, if I get peri-AF it will stop me in my tracks.
lol, as a hyperalert, I agree. To me, it's very intense and uncomfortable when my blood pressure rises, but doctors have told me you can't feel that shit. Yeah, most definitely can. Same with some other things, but don't want to tread into too much detail. Basically doctors have been wrong a lot (Especially first line doctors) and every new doctor I see, repeats the same old song where I have to let them be wrong a few times before they start realising I can actually tell what's happening inside of my body.
I've been more nearsighted than bats since I was a teenager. Over time this causes the edges of the retina to stretch where they attach to the elongated (nearsighted) eyeball. About 20 years ago I started to see white at the edges of my vision in the dark when I looked far to each side. Went to optometrist for the full dilated exam.. He says I'm fine. I'm still worried so he makes an appointment to check again in a few months. He again says I'm fine, but I'm still seeing the flashes. He sends me to the retina specialist. Retinal specialist looks and takes nice photos of my retinas. We have a nice chat. He tells me about the tissue paper stretching which is normal for the extremely near sighted. He said the stretched section of the retina is what makes the white bright areas and that most bat people don't have enough peripheral motion to be able to see them. I do. If you are tuned into yourself this will continue to happen over time. All medicals come in degrees of education, experience and astuteness.
Since watching this video a couple weeks ago I have been using this supplement. I have seen a big difference in reduction of eye floaters. Thank you for this video!
I used to have terrible floaters a few years back. Then I became obsessed with making kale chips in my dehydrator and I swear my floaters just vanished for a long time. Lately I have noticed some coming back and I realized that I do not eat greens hardly ever anymore. So back on the kale train it is! That is my anecdotal evidence, at least. 😅
I've noticed some mild floaters in the past 6 months - which honestly kind of freaked me out but also less than I thought it would because my mother has just gotten a macular hole dealt with and she has had pretty significant floaters for at least a couple of decades. And, I attribute it somewhat to stress of the pandemic, politics, working from home and staring at a monitor for 8 hours a day, etc. I think I'll seek out a local eye doc and ask them about this, and for the objective imaging of any floaters for a baseline. Glad I stayed up and found this.
I was going to add try to find a Doctor Who practices good nutrition himself and recommends it for his patients. cutting sugar carbs and seed oils cures so many problems, and I’ve noticed that my floaters have stopped and are receding. I can only see them when I’m driving and only 1 eye. It’s easy to try diet change. My T2D has reversed.
I was hooked on to mobile screen for 7 to 8 hours everyday. I just developed one floater in my left eye. Its not the only reason but I feel dry eyes which is caused by screen exposure for long time, is certainly one reason.
I used to have eye floaters but I used USP castor oil on my face, because it clears my skin well. I eventually ended up using a few drops on my eye lashes and eye brows ( not putting it directly in my eyes, just rubbing my eye lash portion with a small drop before bed). I have noticed a great difference in their fullness. I also noticed I reduced the eye floaters I had down to none. I have been using castor oil 2-3 times a week, and sometimes I skip a week. But I've used it for over a couple of years. I used to have about 4 or 5 floaters in my eye.
@gothicqui Yes, but not a lot. I put a drop on my index finger, and I rubbed my two index fingers together. Next I rubbed each of my index fingers on each eyelid. Sometimes, I don't rub it on my eyelids. I put my index fingers in front of my eyes, close enough so that when I blink, my eyelashes sweep onto my index fingers, and it will get on my eyelashes that way. Afterwards, I rub my eyelashes side to side without touching my eyelids. I've always done this before bed.
Oh I'm delighted to hear about the eyebrows! My friend threaded the tops of my eyebrows away once against my wishes and I have tried to get them back im going to try this too. It's very sticky right? Does it ever get in your eye? I find I can't use facial cream at all because it usually ends up somehow in my eyes even if I stay well away from the area. And stings the heck out of my eyes.
@@Padraigpyes all creams and oils will drift and end up in the eyes. That's why we need eye creams (contrary to the current trend) it creates a barrier between the face cream and your eye while hydrating the under eye area. Eye creams are made with eye safe ingredients generally speaking. You'll want an eye cream that is safe for the eyelid, then it won't sting.
Thank you! My floaters (mainly PVD related) are pretty bad. I do find that eating pineapple (based on that study a couple years back) has been working for me, I notice a fair reduction in floater symptoms with steady pineapple diet, and can see floater increase when stopping pineapple. This exact formula (to the 0.1mg) is known as Vitrocap-N in Europe. I think it helps but don't expect miracles. Mainly I notice that I don't think about as much about my floaters as I did in the past... and thats the best thing that could happen.
It's excellent that he gave a warning about high-doses of supplements negatively affecting health, I had to learn this one the hard way a decade ago or so unfortunately.
It might be useful to others to explain how exactly you found this out ' the hard way' . Especially considering this comment section seems to be full of people self-medicating.
Interesting, I took bromelain tablets and saw floater improvements as I did when I started eating pineapple. Bromelain is found in pineapples and can digest proteins, specifically collagens. When I stopped taking these products I found my condition worsened and the onset of PVD developed with more floaters. I'm going back to these treatments which should hopefully help eliminate these new floaters.
My eye doctor and doctors in a hospital ER told me my floaters were the result of a torn retinae (not a detached retinae). The tear was repaired with laser surgery. But the floaters, relatively smaller and not as many, are still there.
Went through same thing. The tear can bleed into the vitreous, and the debris from the tear (blood) can get “stuck” in the vitreous. It often slowly clears over 2-3 months. If it does not, they can zap some of it out with a laser.
I've been using Bromelain for my eye floaters and have achieved moderate success. Bromelain comes from pineapples and is used commercially as a meat tenderizer. You could either eat a lot of pineapple or take a Bromelain supplement.
@@Sahrah3201 Yes. My floaters are mostly gone now. It's been 8 months. I still have tiny ones, but the really big ones have disappeared. My vision is so much clearer.

Thank you for taking the time to make and share your videos. I have watched several over the past year and a half as I have had seven procedures on my eyes. Each time it seems as though a new problem arises. After cataract surgery on both eyes I had to have my lenses replaced with bigger ones because my pupils are large and I was seeing the outer edge of my lenses. After replacement I ended up with astigmatisms and scar tissue in both eyes. After procedures to have my astigmatisms corrected I had laser surgery to take care of the scar tissue which gave me floaters, dense floaters. I also still have an astigmatism in my right eye. What I thought was going to be a simple cataract surgery has turned into problem after problem. It was suggested that I have the surgery to remove the floaters but I am so afraid that that will go bad as well. This video gave me a little hope that there may eventually be an alternative to surgery for floaters. Thank you!
I, for starters, don't really follow youtubers and try not to rely on news I hear about on social media. However, there is some great content on here and, for some reason, Dr. Allen is one of those professionals that instill confidence in me. I watched an earlier video on pineapple and the reason I can't follow that treatment is because I have sensitive gums and the consumption of acid fruit makes it a lot worse. But I'm definitely going to give vitamins a try!
Hello, hope you're doing well. Would you please tell me that does this formula(pineapple L-lysine,grape seed extract) worked for you and Are the Eye floaters completely gone or not?
Thank you for this. I'll be discussing it with my ophthamologist and my retinal specialist. My floaters are so bad I'm starting to have trouble functioning. I'm so myopic, that surgery is entirely off the table unless I have a retinal detachment, and laser intervention is off the table for the same reason. I'm 40 years old, and had my first PVD event at 27, and my second almost a year later to the day. I would happily give 20 years off my life to get these damn things gone...
As I've commented previously, I'm 60 and a couple of months ago had flashing and floaters in my right eye. I heard that Pineapple may help, so I've been trying that. I also take a Lutein supplement. Additionally, I take a multivitamin, eat an egg everyday, and many everyday foods are fortified with vitamins. The flashing and floaters have reduced greatly. This subject is very interesting to me. Eyesight is very important, and I believe there is much people can, and should do, to look after it! I would say that, at 60, my (corrected!) eyesight is pretty good! Long may it stay that way!
@sonia thompson Well, let's put it this way, eating delicious pineapple can't possibly do any harm, and it contributes to a healthy and varied diet! ... I would advise caution about believing everything you read. I judge information by the source it comes from. I live in the UK, and if I'm looking for medical information (for example), if it comes from the NHS then it's probably reliable. One thing is certain, eyesight is important, and people should take great care of it! If you're concerned, you should always consult an expert.

My floaters had gone way out of control and were actually really bothering me. I would see movement in my peripheral vision and it would turn out to be large floaters. I was already taking vitamin C and omega 3 supplements so I started eating canned Pineapple every day until I discovered that the canning process destroys the Bromelain enzyme so I started taking Bromelain supplements instead, about 1500mg per day and within a few weeks my floaters are pretty much gone.
While the floaters never completely went away, they are still very mild compared to how they were. I'm still talking 1500 mg of Bromelain. 1000mg in the morning and a 500mg as I go to bed. I do wonder if I should up the dose a further 500mg at bedtime but I haven't yet.
I used to have eye floaters all the time, but ever since I moved out of Phoenix to the Midwest I haven't had one. It's been 2 years with no medical intervention.
My mother had floaters appear after cataract surgery. She had a procedure to remove them done and is doing better now. I'm not convinced this is at a state where I feel her getting the procedure done wasn't worth it.
Had cataract surgery in 2014 & I never had floaters until right AFTER I had a YAG procedure in 2022. It was done on my left eye after I asked my Opthalmologist if there was anything other than prescription glasses that would help me read street signs more clearly from a distance. She suggested the YAG procedure & did it in her office that day. I wish I’d never had it done! It didn’t help my distance vision at all & I’ve had floaters ever since. She said I might have them temporarily but that they usually go away or become unnoticeable within 6 weeks or so. Mine have never gone away and they drive me crazy. I have to blink & blink to move them out of the way so I can see clearly. I hate to think a doctor would do such a procedure just for the money, but I can’t help but what am I supposed to think?

Haha me too! I have had one in my right eye since I can remember but I only notice it like once a week for a few minutes. I always enjoy playing with it when it shows. :D
Mine went away with consuming at least 1000mg of vitamin C daily. There was another treatment that i tried that consists of putting a compress with coconut oil over my eyes for 10 minutes and oddly enough it helped keep them away for a bit
I just had my annual diabetic exam with the ophthalmologist. I do have diabetic retinopathy unfortunately but the doctor is calling it mild. He said nothing needs to be done at this time and return in a year. When I was first diagnosed several years ago the doctor called the retinopathy moderate. So it appears that I have experienced some healing and improvement etc. I thought someone here might be interested in knowing what is possible if you start taking the diabetes very seriously. When I was first diagnosed and started learning about it almost everything I came across said that existing damage can't be reversed and the focus should be on preventing it from getting worse. That's it. Good luck
@@wocket42 I've read Dr Bernstein's book diabetes solution. He's for a very low carb diet. He got type ONE diabetes at 11 and is now 88. He's controversial because he doesn't agree with the American diabetes association and their diet advice. He basically lives on ANIMAL protein with vegetables. He doesn't eat grains or fruit. Many diabetics say that just aren't able and willing to live that way. Even if it's proven to work for keeping the blood sugar levels under good control and preventing complications etc. He's even still active here on UA-cam at 88! Good luck. Are you diabetic? Have you developed any eye problems?
Dr. Bernstein is awesome, I recommend his book to all type 1's I meet. You can't trust your average doctor or the "official" institutions, your average doctor doesn't know about nutrition or prevention(unless he researched it on his own) and those institutions don't care about health, most of their funding comes from processed foods manufacturers.
@@Gengh13 Part of the problem for me was while even though I became aware of him a long time ago I didn't think I had to be that strict because my diagnosis was type TWO. They had me under the impression that as long as I took the pills and ate "healthy" and exercised and controlled my weight I should be fine for many years to come. Well I developed a floater and finally got a referral to the ophthalmologist and learned that I had developed retinopathy. They say it's to be expected because after about 20 years around 80% or so will have developed some retinopathy. My ability to make insulin went so low that a few years ago my endocrinologist changed my diagnosis to type 1. I'm on the Medtronic insulin pump with the CGM now. Once you have that CGM you can really see how things work for you in real time. I trusted that the doctors were providing me with proper treatment but looking back now they weren't. If I knew then what I know now. During the quarantine I spent a lot of time online just to keep my mind occupied. I saw many diabetics almost bragging about their "I can eat whatever I want" lifestyle. Then they would show their CGM graphs with the rollercoaster 🎢 blood sugar. In most cases when I attempted to talk some sense into them and recommended Dr Bernstein they would reject it outright. They want no part of it. That's no way to live etc. But for me the fear of blindness is enough for me to accept that I shouldn't even try to "eat just like everyone else". I know this is long but if it has a positive influence on even one person then it's worth it. Always think about the long term effects of what you are doing because being told you need to start getting injections in your eyes is far more unappealing than following a strict diet and managing the diabetes as well as possible. Thee end. Good luck to everyone
I had an acute appearance of a very high amount of eye floaters in my right eye and I started searching in internet about it, i came across a video on youtube that was examining some studies and one of those studies was about pineapple, I stared reading the comments and many were talking of having a positive effect when they started consuming it. At the point when I started eating pineapple it was more than 3 weeks that I had the symptoms and it was so bad that their movements when I walked was a massive disruption that caused me dizziness and headache. I started to observe positive results after 2-3 weeks of eating a quarter of pineapple everyday. The quantity started to diminish and today after 3-4 month I do not normally observe them, only at small amounts when the sun is hitting my face. I wanted to share because it is a natural way and it helped me a lot, but you should also keep in mind that I am not a doctor and this is only my personal experience, and you should seek professional help.
Floaters worse after cataract surgery as well as sensitivity to light which I did not have before surgery. I always feel like I am looking through a gel substance around my eyes. Had a PVD incident a few months after surgery also.
I have been taking this for 3 months. I did notice that I didn't notice the floaters while taking it, I stopped taking it for 3 week and noticed I started noticing the floats again.
My Retina doctor put me on Xiidra (for my dry eyes which aggravated my floaters) and let me tell you; it actually lessened the floaters from being so pervasive. I still have 3 more months until I can expect some improvement.
Its good to know that research being done on eye floaters to help people. Viewers are interested in these vitamins in order to prevent these floaters from happen or to remove them. Thanks Doctor for sharing, and explaining.
Sounds like I should just try grape seed extract for several months. Getting that alone is cheaper and I already get plenty of the other ingredients via other sources.
My retinal specialist suggested I take it. He said take it 6 months and let him know if I improved. I have only been taking it a month and thus far I am not seeing a dramatic difference
Hey Dr. Allen! I'm absolutely grateful to you for continuously providing quality informative videos on eye-related medical issues that are bothersome to patients and local doctors here don't even discuss about it.Thanks for this video too, But.... I have a question, do these latest researches on floaters help those who have Visual Snow Syndrome? Will any treatment/cure for floaters be applicable to the floaters caused by Visual Snow too?
Hey thank you so much! To answer your question - I don't have any information or research to support the vitamins studied would help with visual snow syndrome. From what I know of visual snow syndrome, I doubt that any treatment for vitreous floaters will help - as vitreous floaters are internal to the eyeball and visual snow is a neurological condition. It doesn't mean that a supplement or diet or lifestyle changes cant help with VS - but I just doubt any treatment for eye floaters specifically would help with VS.
@@DoctorEyeHealth Thanks a lot for replying doctor! I was also thinking the same, because actual floaters are collagen fibres floating inside the eye-ball and VSS is neurological. I'm glad I got clarity regarding this, so I can now try some other lifestyle & diet changes rather than particularly sticking to any kinda supplement for eye-floaters.
@@DoctorEyeHealth agreed, theres so much we still dont know about diets and how they impact us positively or negatively but as many people say the eyes is one of the first places where your body tells you there's something wrong going on with you
I got floaters in one eye yrs ago from a puppy I was babysitting who scratched one eye. That improved over the yrs. Yet, I noticed when I changed my multi vitamin due to them deciding to add corn starch etc., the floaters returned. While searching for a new multivitamin I brought Lutein 10mg separate as had been in it. The floaters improved a lot with only an occasional appearance. So I make sure the right dose of Lutein is taken daily in a multi or aside one.
Thanks for sharing! Yes, most studies show 10-20mg of lutein is needed to get a significant improvement in macular pigment and changes to visual function.
Dr. Allen, thank you for the interesting and hopeful info. Any reduction would be welcomed, a lot of times it's like looking through a fog. I tried laser, but after a few sessions pressure became problematic. It certainly is worth a try, do wish the study group was larger. Thanks again for taking the time to present this info, much appreciated. Thank You !!
About 12 years ago I had really bad floaters, my eye specialist performed a vitrectomy, the vitrectomy caused a cataract to form but we thought that would happen, so a year later I had cataract surgery. Two years later we repeated the performance in the other eye. It is fantastic - 12 years with no problems and absolutely clear vision - a bonus was that I could see colours more clearly and whites were no longer yellow. During recovery you see this weird but beautifully coloured bubble in your eye - I loved it. In fact I was really pleased when he said the time had come to do the other eye!
I had floaters. Went to a retina specialist. He informed me they are the result of the vitreous humor ( the substance inside the eyeball) changing from a gel like substance to a liquid ( a natural process of aging). He also said that the floaters are proteins released as a result of this change. He also said they will stop once that gel has totally changed to liquid. He gave no treatment.
I have just started using this supplement. I haven't not yet finished 1 month of using this supplement to reach to any judgement. I will use it for at least 5-6 months and then see if I perceive any fewer floaters that I use to in the past. I have vitreous detachment (PVD) in my eyes and can currently see a pretty well-defined Weiss ring floater.
This study is very interesting and intriguing to hear that there are studies out there trying to find better treatment alternatives for floaters. I am thankful my floaters arent severe or have caused problems with my vision overall. I would like to see more studied be done with this vitamin and long term effects over the course of years and what would happen if a person stopped taking them what would happen.
My eyes got really bad out of nowhere.. tons of floaters and a blurry film like substance over my vision and they can't seem to figure out what exactly. I can't live this way. 😭😭
I completely get you. Same with me. Now, after 4 years of being told to tough it out, and 6 months of useless vitamins, I'm going to try Red Light Therapy. While there many studies affirming improved eye health with RLT, none study floaters specifically. However, in researching RLT devices, I was pleasantly surprised to read dozens of testimonials saying it absolutely helped their floaters. If this doesn't work, then it's surgery for me, I'm afraid.
Great video! I'm 78 and experienced sudden symptoms of light shooting around the periphery of my right eye's vision in the mid-2000's (Houston, TX). I immediately called my ophthalmologist and he diagnosed me with PVD, and said I may experience the same in the left eye within about 6 months. He said it's not uncommon. I did eventually experience the same symptoms in my left eye after a year, and he gave me the same diagnosis. My vision has remained quite good. I do wear glasses, but my prescription has not changed in over a decade. I do have floaters, and my right eye has a large, noticeable floater that became apparent after the PVD diagnosis. It has remained to this day, and is quite annoying. I will see my ophthalmologist here in NY in February, and I will ask her about this floater, and also this supplement. Thank you!
I was suspecting it for longer, but recently found out I'm hyper sensitive to MSG. Since I'm leaving that out I think my eyesight got better. I'll see how it turns out in the future
you mean ''e621'' food flavor enhancement ? how weird... got the same problems, do you experience nausea and headache very fast when taking this s**t ? got floaters here as well !
I already take a Lutein and Zeanithan , and take zinc too. I used eyecdrops daily as prescribed by my opthalmologist for dry eyes. I have noticed a reduction in floaters in the 6 months I have followed this regime.
Floater question: I've had irritating floaters for 20 years or so. (As a faculty spouse at a college of optometry, I got a lot of good care. At one point a vitrectomy was mentioned and rejected.) A few little squiggly black ones I just get used to. Most irritating is a translucent blob. What is the difference? Is it the location within the eye? I had cateract surgery earlier this year, and I mentioned the floaters to my surgeon, but they too saw no need for any action, "unless it interferes with daily life." I really hate that blob! Lol
Same here! I’ve had floaters for about 30 years and had cataract surgery about a year and a half ago. Afterwards the left eye had a translucent blob of something. The doctor said it would probably dissolve itself. My left eye used to be my good eye, but now not so much.
I didn’t have eye floaters until one day I suddenly had a large black swirl in my eye with flashes of light on the periphery. Since I had a previous retinal tear without symptoms, I was concerned. I saw my ophthalmologist and was diagnosed with vitreous detachment and eventually the symptoms would disappear. She is following me as on occasion the retina can be affected. Two weeks later, I don’t have the floater, which was quite a large ribbon making it difficult to read. Only rare flashes now. Anyone concerned should really seek help from eye doctors to prevent loss of vision. Two friends are legally blind, one from diabetic retinopathy, the other who was prescribed a medication by his PCP which was contraindicated due to his glaucoma.
lysine is also good to help prevent cold sores and to make them go away faster. it can also lessen the severity of the cold sores. note: it does not help to prevent from getting the virus, at least i don’t think it does. it helps to prevent the cold sores after a person already has the virus though.
My wife use to get cold sores pretty often and her Dr. use to give her a "small Pox" shot & she was good for a year without getting any more. Then small pox was declared to be non existent in America and the shot was hard to come by.
@@chuckredd9131 What?? You're kidding I hope. The routine small pox vaccine was halted in 1972. I've never had one, or a cold sore. Cold sores of the mouth/lips are caused by the herpes virus (which has never been vaccinated for).
I'm taking a bromaline supplement for my plentiful floaters , based on your video from a couple years ago about eating pineapple to reduce floaters. I'm not sure how much to take, so I'm taking 2 pills a day. Since I don't like pineapple, I figured to try the supplement. So far no improvement but it's only been a month, i'll keep taking it and hopefully it helps, I'm not expecting it to, but if it does then great!
@@AbdullahAbdelFattah it's useless shit. It's also extracted not from the pineapple itself, but from the leaves. So it's not the same as eating pineapples. Overall all of these are useless methods that don't work
Never taken this supplement, but long ago I took something called nutrasilver for other significant issues, they told me it had a side effect of removing floaters. Forgetting all about that side effect, one day I noticed the floaters normally in my eyes weren't there. Sadly it only lasted as long as I used the product which I had stopped for other reasons. I've always wondered what was it in Nutrasilver that caused such a positive effect.
I don't think the guy who had the company has been in business for years, but maybe if you try to Google nutrasilver you may find out. But yes it was a liquid, but it's been so long ago, I don't remember much about it. Good Luck
What are your thoughts on these vitamins? Have you tried them? Or are you waiting for more research?
Hope You Talk More About This
Would floaters from a pvd benefit also?
I read it would help the pvd floaters so I’m trying them.
Is there something that contains them all?
One thing I’d like to see is independent studies of the various components in this supplement. Even assuming that the results hold up, it is possible that the benefits are due to only one or two components in this vitamin cocktail, and the other components may be useless or even detrimental to the effect. Given that this is fairly expensive supplement, removing unnecessary components would be one way to reduce costs.
YES please more eye floaters video. Everyone that has this condition knows how awful it is.
Struggling with it too :(

But please stop posting about supplements. It's bad science. Vitrectomy and laser are the only valid treatments.
Wow! Thanks for sharing your experience here. I hope it continues to go well for you.
Which was the supplement name? And plz tell me generic name,, or ingredients

The anxiety is worst, it kicks in and makes all symptoms 100x worse
What kind of anxiety do you guys have? Is it health anxiety ( hypochondriac) type stuff like worrying about your heart, and physical aspects?
We need treatments! My floaters are driving me crazy, they interfere with my work.
the treatment is to fly out to one of the top rated doctors who will perform a Vitrectomy and pray you don't lose your vision.

This is big. I certainly hope they go forward with this study and making it more fleshed out. While niche, I'm glad there are a few people who are actively working on cracking the code to this issue once and for all. @@christinerobinson9372 I'll try that!! Is tofu ok to,eat?

I think your VERY RIGHT!!!
Makes sense since I've heard that keto works for this symptom.
Dr Berg and intermittent fasting, keto, being helpful in floater reduction and eye improvement.
That worked for me too, along with quite a few other conditions I had. I switched my diet to Keto, eliminated carbs from my diet.

Does it have to be fresh citrus juice, or will concentrated do..?

This makes perfect sense. I didn’t understand what eye floaters were made of until the video. After a deeply traumatic event, I aged physically quite a bit. I ended up with such severe floaters that I was having trouble seeing in bright sunlight. These floaters seemed to have cleared up, back to a normal level after 6 months or so.

Still trying to survive with eye floaters too..

I have started using them from last month, trust me it has reduced the visibility of floaters, they are still present but they do not interfere with my vision anymore.
Mega doses of mag glycinate (best absorbed form) will help arrhythmia. Most allopathic doctors clueless about this.
lol, as a hyperalert, I agree.

@Lisa ann aaaah, that kinda makes sense. My diet has been irresponsibly carb heavy for about a year. Now.... am I gonna do something about it. 😳
I was going to add try to find a Doctor Who practices good nutrition himself and recommends it for his patients. cutting sugar carbs and seed oils cures so many problems, and I’ve noticed that my floaters have stopped and are receding.
This is really interesting… did you rub the castor oil on the eyelid… or just the eyelash area?
@gothicqui Yes, but not a lot. I put a drop on my index finger, and I rubbed my two index fingers together. Next I rubbed each of my index fingers on each eyelid. Sometimes, I don't rub it on my eyelids. I put my index fingers in front of my eyes, close enough so that when I blink, my eyelashes sweep onto my index fingers, and it will get on my eyelashes that way. Afterwards, I rub my eyelashes side to side without touching my eyelids. I've always done this before bed.
@Therealbrock_make sure the castor oil is hexane free and organic

They duped you and took your money to perform a risky procedure for no good reason.

She suggested the YAG

Best diet for your eyes: Low/Zero carbs.

@@DoctorEyeHealth Thanks a lot for replying doctor! I was also thinking the same, because actual floaters are collagen fibres floating inside the eye-ball and VSS is neurological. @@haqsach4147 It clearly indicates that there's no issue in your eyes, those floaters are just one of the symptoms of VSS.
I’ve made peace with mine.
why you watching this video if you truly have?
How are you doing? Has it improved?
I have just started using this supplement. I haven't not yet finished 1 month of using this supplement to reach to any judgement. I will use it for at least 5-6 months and then see if I perceive any fewer floaters that I use to in the past. I have vitreous detachment (PVD) in my eyes and can currently see a pretty well-defined Weiss ring floater.
Woah! Best of luck to you! Please keep us updated on your experiences!
Plz update after you over this supplement
What s happind friend
It's only beginning. All the best is ahead
This is really helpful i have a xlinked juvenile retiinacitis and i have a bad floater surrounding my eyes. I hope you have a cure to my illness

I have a floater in my left eye. It's annoying, but not debilitating. I'd like to keep track of further developments.
Thank you!
I had the same at the age of 28. Hate the big floater, but thinking about it less helps seeing it less.
Thank you. Every little bit could help. I just got a new floater this weekend. Appointment is to be scheduled soon.
Best of luck! Hope everything goes well for you.
I tried the vitreous supplement for months. No change whatsoever. I’m disappointed. My eye doctor told me it’s about 50/50.
Thanks for sharing your experience here, Rebecca.
What 50/50 i want kwon thanks
Did Bromelain pills also do nothing for you? Did you ever try going sugar free for a month?
I like the notes you put into your descriptions.
Thanks! They can take up quite a bit of time, so I'm glad you appreciate it.
The amounts of Zinc, Vitamin C and Lysine are almost homeopathic per pill, so it's certainly the other stuff that does something.
There is a lot more research needed in this area. Not many eye surgeons want to operate to remove floaters because of potential risks.
Pero realmente puede ocurrir algo grave?
I will try it. See what happens
lysine is also good to help prevent cold sores and to make them go away faster. it can also lessen the severity of the cold sores.
note: it does not help to prevent from getting the virus, at least i don’t think it does. it helps to prevent the cold sores after a person already has the virus though.
interesting! I did not know that
My wife use to get cold sores pretty often and her Dr. use to give her a "small Pox" shot & she was good for a year without getting any more.
It really helps clear up genital herpes too. And it helped me heal fast from shingles too.
been taking bromelain tablets 500mg for 3 months and they are much less noticeable and thinner will report back after 1 year
Thanks! 👍🏽👍🏽
Well either way, I hope it works for you and the floaters improve!
@@DoctorEyeHealth thank you good sir. I don't wanna have to get a vitrectomy eventually.
@@ryanshaffer8692 update?
@@ryanshaffer8692 After two months, tell us about your condition?
@@AbdullahAbdelFattah it's useless shit. It's also extracted not from the pineapple itself, but from the leaves. So it's not the same as eating pineapples. Overall all of these are useless methods that don't work
I'm only 28 and got eye floaters start a month ago and it was so scary I'd never heard of them.
Welcome to the family? lol Hope the videos helped ease your mind or help you better understand what's going on.
What was the nutrasilver for? Im interested in knowing more because i suffer these eye floaters.
is nutrasilver some kind of drinkable silver?
I don't think the guy who had the company has been in business for years, but maybe if you try to Google nutrasilver you may find out. But yes it was a liquid, but it's been so long ago, I don't remember much about it. Good Luck
