Having this bench seat from day1.. i have done 2k kms rides with ease👍🏼 It came out along with the launch of interceptor in 2018.. but not sure why many ppl dont know..
Woah! 2018? It was not even listed on the Indian website back then! Else we would have loved to get this seat back then! This is a good seat in my opinion.
PS: This seat alone is why i will buy this bike. I been looking for a bike that has a pure 100% horizontal flat bench seat, and this is the only one. Not even Triumph has this, there closest seat goes up slightly in the back. Now, There is ONLY one other 2 wheel vehicle with a pure flat seat, and thats the BMW CE04 scooter. So i legitly was going to buy the BMWCE04 , but now that i seen this video, i have to get the royal enfield. Maybe a few years later when the CE04 gets an upgrade to longer range battery and more higher top speed, then i will also get the BMW. But im i the only one who will ONLY wants a bike with a 100% pure flat seat? Its crazy how theres ONLY 2 two wheel vehicles who have the ONLY seat i like . 👍✌️

I own an interceptor my self with the stock seat and even though the seat is flat aesthetically the pillion doesn’t have enough support. A lot of my pillion riders have complained to me about the feeling of “falling off the bike” due to the seat. Great bike but yeah an Achilles heel for sure

Hey thank you so much for watching the video! Btw there is another seat that RE has launched and that is called the 'Deluxe Touring Seat'. Slightly more expensive than any seat that RE has produced for the 650 Twins. I personally didn't like the design of it but that also is an option should you want to consider it. :) I hope this helps and you get to make an informed decision/ purchase.
I bought the Bench Seat today without wasting any time and it looks dope and it feels same as the gt premium touring one. Plus, it's more comfortable for the pillion than the Premium touring one. And I also checked the Dual Deluxe one, doesn't look good(my opinion) but from the looks it surely would be more comfortable . Btw thanks for such helpful and underrated content.❤
can you make a video on the new indicators that you have installed...looks much much more good than the old setup. maybe a round tail light that follows next.
This seat has been available for a long time now, at the very least since the first revision of the available colour schemes for the 650 twins. I have it too. It is very comfortable. Much more than that stock one. I mostly use a the single GT seat, though. The newest addition to RE's catalogue is actually the deluxe touring seat which costs 1k more than this. Have you seen it? Much broader than any other 650 seat and has the 3D mesh as well as dual density foam. I don't like how it looks, though I have no doubt it must be comfortable.
I only came to know about this seat accidentally as I mentioned in the video. And yes, I did notice the gangsta seat that is The Deluxe Touring Seat. Slightly expensive and made with bums wide enough to support all kinds of bottoms. And the reason why I didn't go for it is because it looks out of the place, meaning it doesn't look like a part of the bike. Yes it is very comfortable but it's a soar sight, and looks very different, in my opinion, it looks like a seat made for cruisers and has been made available for Cafe Racers. Kinda like Trypophobia. (Don't Google Search that! You were warned!)
@@SrinivasGanesh Yeah, that seat does not look good to me. From an aesthetic point of view, a seat should fit within the top rails of the chassis. Any extension beyond that looks out of place. At least it looks better than the custom sofa seats you see on many Interceptors. Does that trigger your trypophobia? Haha! That's so weird! One would expect to see at least _some_ holes in an irregular pattern to get triggered.
You can get this brown one and get a black seat cover for it. Or there is a leather spray that is specifically designed to colour leather products, you can try that too.

Great video going over the bench seat! I just purchased the bench seat and got the delivery! The only question I have is how you wash your bike with the bench seat on or do you take the seat off when washing your bike? Since the seat is not meant to get it wet. Thanks!

I want to avoid direct water contact from the battery and the electricals which are located right under the seat.
Lots of time and skill used in making this review, well done. How is the seat for a pillion? I bought a custom seat built on the factory base as my partner likes to ride pillion, but the foam is too soft and sags quickly leading to the discomfort you describe so well…

I got to know about the deluxe touring only after buying the signature bench so I haven’t tried it. Sure it might feel very good, but to me it didn’t LOOK very good. :(
The stock seat for interceptor seems quite low profile to me, but I bought the original touring seat that had the mesh inside but looked identical to the stock seat, it’s much more comfortable than the stock and has served me well for almost 3 years… but I have leather grips and leather tank pads which are tobacco brown in color, and if I add a brown seat cover the seat will become a bit fatter which I don’t want, this color is perfect, I just wanted to know if this is lower or higher profile than the stock interceptor seat, as I have never used a GT seat.

I have not, the bench seat is so comfortable in my opinion that I never had the need to buy a fourth seat. Plus deluxe touring seat is a little on the expensive side. Bench seat look amazing!

Yes using the NGK spark plugs. But not the wires that come with it. For some reason those wires were, in the words of the technician, “leaking electricity” so I’m using the oem cables only.
Is the seating position for this seat higher or lower than the premium touring seat? I have a Continental GT 650 and have both the interceptor style premium touring seat (which I find to be too thick/tall) and the standard GT650 seat which I find to be a good height but not so comfortable. I’m around 1.92m tall and find the thicker seats force me to lean over more on the GT.
Interesting question. I'll do a comparison short video. I believe this seat should be slightly higher. Since GT 650 touring seat is scooped at the rider section, making it a tad bit lower for the rider. This one is flat throughout.
Bought an interceptor on 20th of July 2023. First thing, I hate the seat. It’s so soft. More than 100kms if I do it pains my buttocks. Previously I was touring in a R15 without getting butt numb.

Yes they are good for pillion, but you need to have a pillion back rest. Which I have not installed, due to me riding solo.

That comes standard on all the Royal Enfield motorcycles. Though it is branded as a grab rail to help the rider put their motorcycle on centre stand.

This is branded as interceptor signature bench seat. Not for GT650, although it can be used in either motorcycles. :)

But these spark plugs are more efficient and maintenance free.

it is pretty decent, but like all seats, you do need to take breaks. Else no matter the seat, you will fee numbness.
