I thought I would share my recent encounter with a total idiot on eBay...
We all have to deal with these people when selling online, but this chap really takes the biscuit... so I thought it worthy of a video..
Sit back and enjoy... -

Wait until he finds the iron doesn’t work😂
PMSL!! 😆😂
Baaaahaaaa🤣🤣🤣
Or the car doesn't run ...
Absolutely excellent
I want to return this iron! When I plug it in and fill it with water, steeam comes out the bottom!
I sold a postcard to someone in France some years ago. He gave me a neg feedback because he didn't like the price he paid for it. And it was auction. People should not bid what they don't want to pay but he really wanted this card. Some people are unbelievable.
That is ridiculous and if that was the reason he stated it should have been removed for you.
Propablay to late but did eBay remove the negative
This is hilarious, I almost feel sorry for that guy being so stupid lol. It must be so hard for him just living a normal day to day life. He probably thought Jurassic Park was a documentary. Remember it is impossible to win an argument with an idiot. Thanks for the video :)
I Agree " Arguing with an idiot, is like playing chess with a Pigeon.
Never argue with an idiot.
They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
It's the reason I always rally to take warning labels off of products...weed out the idiots...
In one of his messages he referred to his kids. Stupid chap but maybe not quite stupid enough to get laid.
He must be one of Boris' advisors!
This is gold.
How do people like this function on a day to day basis!
It is difficult....
It is very tiring for me.......💩💩💩
I sell a bit of camera equipment on eBay.
I once had a question asking if I had used that camera to take the pictures of it on the listing.
,😂🤣😂
Lmao
Advanced alien civilization.
How do these people get themselves dressed in the morning ffs 🤦♂️😂
They don't, these are the ones we generally see in the corner shop in their nightwear, it's because they can't the hang of buttons or zips!!!!
I wonder how they survive! How do they manage to make a cup of tea in the morning without blowing the whole house up...
Onesies
It is not easy......😟😟😟
You handled this very well. I honestly don’t know if I could have remained as calm as you did.
Dealing with complete idiots is a challenge. Lol
Lol, it makes you wonder how somebody like that manages to even set up an account to purchase something.
Well it is rather difficult,innit.....💩💩💩
It's cheered me up no end . What a numpty.
Common sense is not that common.
t2p Apparently so :)
It's like the guy who tried to return a frozen pizza claiming no toppings, only to realise it was upside down.
Pmsl yes I remember that!!
Exactly 😂😂😂👍
Agreed
hahaha so true
I saw a TikTok last week where a girl COOKED the pizza upside down! Needless to say, the mess she made will have taught her a lifelong lesson.....we can hope! LOL
He then spent eight months trying to figure out how to tell the difference between the houses, hotels, and the dice. Oh wait silly me, I should have finished that sentence with !!!
perhaps the buyer is Diane Abbot!!!!
I sell old toys on auction, and I would say one out of five request to cancel after the auction claiming they missed something or another. More like they get carried away then crap them selves when it comes to paying.
And for some reason people don't trust items that have been re-listed
You can give ALL the required info in your listing... but if I've learned one thing, it's that so many people in this world just DON'T read things properly!
I bet he would complain he could,nt do the tiger jigsaw puzzle he bought ....turned out to be a box of Kellogg's Frosties !!
I once emailed an eBay seller saying they had sent the wrong silicone cover for a Xbox controller saying the buttons were on the wrong side and it wouldn't fit. It was then that my then 9 year old told me it was inside out and did in fact fit like a glove.
😂 One word springs to mind.... THICK!
Extremely so!
I guessed it was that straight away. This problem could have been solved with much less correspondence, asking for a photo of the 'tear' in first reply. X
hilarious i'm just surprise how this guy was able to figure out on how to make his kids
😂
He had no trouble understanding the split between his wife's legs!
His condom "ripped in half" perhaps?
I know this is a VERY old video but I just recently found your UA-cam and have watched some videos so I assume that is how this video got put up into my "suggested videos" from UA-cam. I am certainly thankful to have watched it as I laughed so hard.
I have had some run ins on eBay very similar to yours here. Now I can laugh about them, but not at the times they were happening. I was having to deal with them.
I subscribed now so am looking forward to more great content. I have been loving the videos I have watched so far.
Have a wonderful weekend!!
Hi Nick, your headache is my giggle!! Thanks for cheering me up during the lockdown 😀💕🦋🌈
lol that’s like sending a pack of polo mints back because they have a hole in them!!🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Brilliant! - the idiocy of some people never fails to amaze me.
You are a good honest seller , and keep it up I wish there more like you .
I laughed so hard at this
You've been more patient than I would have been, I would long ago have asked him to return it and given him his money back, yeah I would have been out of pocket, but life is too short!
I've only been selling on eBay a few months, not big numbers yet and I've already had my first genius. Sent 2 pairs of novelty socks, person messaged claiming only one had been received.
I was positive both were sent, so asked them to open the packaging and they would find one pair underneath the other. Wouldn't you know it, they miraculously found the second pair right under the first pair. I mean they were different style socks in see through packaging, so even if you turned the packaging upside down, you'd see the second pair straight away.
Don't get me wrong, I can be a little less than observant at times, but surely you'd actually check the packaging (not just the mailing bag) before sending a message to a seller. My gut feeling was they were trying it on hoping to get a free pair, but I actually hope that's the case, it's less scary than thinking people out there are actually this gormless.
Thanks Nic & Andrea, your kind people and it's shameless how eBay treated you. I have sold for years but now afraid to sell anything there of any real value because eBay only protects the buyer NOT the sellers. eBay won’t last like this!
😂😂😂 Hope the negative feedback has been removed
Can you please make a video of you tearing a Monopoly board in half, leaving a perfectly straight edge, you must have a very clever technique? Can you do the same thing with a telephone directory?
"Nancy"-funny-luv your expressions
Very funny, I sold some computer parts to a chap, he contacted me to say I had sent the wrong items, he claimed I had sent him some Yoghurts. A few messages went between the seller and myself. Finally I realised what was going on, have you opened the box yet I asked? no he said because I dont want Yoghurts. Despite several more messages with him refusing to open the box, eventually he opened the box to find computer parts. I had used a box obtained from somewhere that had previously contained Yoghurts, like many Ebay sellers I recycled boxes for larger items. All this despite having his name and address and my sender details on the box, verdict an idiot.
I had the same problem with a retailer (not on ebay) that I had to return a few items to! When they didn't refund me, I called to ask what the problem was. Turned out they couldn't figure out that a customer might recycle a box and thought they had been sent a water filter (I had used a waterfilter box)!
Learn to turn boxes inside out, so it doesn't display something which is NOT in the box! Cut along seam, re-tape and plain box on the outside! Ta Da, problem solved!
Haha this is funny!! Perfect example Nic - Get these now again myself!!
I had a buyer complain because an Ikea picture frame I sold her was "completely unusable" because the plexiglass front wasn't even transparent and had black print all over it. It was the protective cellophane cover.
They walk among us, had similar issues myself, stay safe
I don't think the buses go where this man lives......
Loved the vid, high five for the patience!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
proper numpty for sure
This is so entertaining brilliant stuff. This is better than tv
Can't believe some people.. Sorry Nic can't stop laughing.!
Thankyou ever so much for the video.! 🙂 ❤️
Not fair he has to reply,Hilarious great for cold afternoon. My son was on floor in tears
Hi Nic i've had a couple of idiots just like this on ebay, and it gets to the point where they can ruin your whole day because they make you feel so angry with their sheer stupidity.
Baz P After years of putting up with it I am much better at not letting get to me these days...
But this one was quite a special case as I felt personally offended with the stupid accusations...
cleanest rip in a board i have ever seen. i have had similar in the past and i have been too afraid of negative feedback so just give in to them. so good advice with your replies to him.
Andrew Hyslop I don't cave in immediately to buyers - depending on the complaint and the circumstances, I only take people seriously if they open a case, there are far too many people who happily fire off complaining emails, hoping to get money off or refunds, knowing that many sellers will refund as a matter of course rather than risk a case being opened.
Funny and sad at the same time! This is the third video I've watched of Nic's and I will say....you all have earned another sub in me! These niche videos with crazy buyers are nothing short of gold! Lol
just had the exact same thing with a scrabble game , trying to explain this to the customer is painful ,
Oh yes good old Scrabble! It's all fun and games... until somebody loses an I - Get it? Lol 😂
A few weeks ago I had someone send me a bunch of messages about a shirt I'd listed. Usually if someone is sending lots of messages before waiting for a response, it ends up a time-waster. They wanted additional measurements, wanted money off, kept saying they didn't know where to find things and needed instructions, etc...
My impulse was to be pretty curt or ignore them but I managed to wring out a decent customer service approach and turned out the guy was in his 70s and was pretty new to eBay, trying to save some money on items he really wanted but couldn't afford elsewhere. Gave me a different perspective on that conversation, so I'm glad I handled it the way I did.
I'm not so sure how I would have handled someone being as dense as yours though, and then refusing to accept they're wrong when they've been corrected!
I really feel for you having dealt with idiots before, well done for getting through it and hope ebay will remove the feedback.
This happens to me all of the time!
Buyers always threaten to leave me negative feedback if I don’t give them a full refund on an item that has been clearly described in depth within the description of the item that the buyer couldn’t be bothered to read !!! 😡
If they threaten you with negative you can call ebay and they will remove and feedback they give - it is against ebay policy
Nic & Andrea Hills I have phoned eBay numerous times and they have banned the majority of the buyers. I usually have the odd brain dead buyer that claims they haven’t received a package they signed for!? 🙄
@@owencook2332 On rare occasions 'signatures' do not represent the receipt by the Buyer for a variety of reasons... but, this is fairly rare.
Whenever I think of board games, I always think of them being ripped in half! Lol!
I truly understand how you feel. We have to control our emotions because of ignorance too. The new designs may mean he's an older person who is only familiar with the older version. Change is hard for some people that's why the older version sell today. Not just for collectors, but due to familiarity. Great job on how you handled that situation. Thanks for posting the video. Your helping other resellers become more aware. EBay will remove that review, only if you were given low star rating. My negative review comment was left up, because the buyers gave me 5 stars. EBay stated that the buyer was happy with the transaction, despite the negative review. OH WELL! 😬
I am yet to contact eBay to try to get the negative feedback removed - I hope they are understanding...
LMAO- That buyer was crazy and still didnt understand how the game board was made even after you showed them a video. The other board that their friend had, probably wasnt even the same manufacturer. We had a Monopoly game long long time ago (1960's) and only folded once down the middle, but also it was in a much bigger box back then.
I know this video is many years old, but enjoy watching what you have to go through with some buyers on Ebay.
Thanks for the video and Take care
Brilliant suff keep them coming
I worked in retail many years, and the customer is not always right.
Well said!
10 out of 10 Nic ,for keeping your cool,it was like a script from Monty Python .never stopped laughing ha ha better than tv !!!!!
Bill Mccabe I am glad it tickled your fancy :)
Rumour has it the kids had to let him win otherwise he'd throw all his toys out the pram
Wow this video gave me flashbacks to when I worked on a helpline. We had to deal with people like that on quite a regular basis, one of the best was telling a customer our web address and they asked me how do you spell dot ....
LOL
I'me crying with laughter.wow, you do get some! :)
Thanks for video.
Omg. How on earth did he not see it as a manufactured split. Why on earth do these people reproduce 🤦♂️
I agree with you.
... because they don't understand where children come from ... ?
"This money isn't real" "You may fool others, but not me" LOL
Very entertaining! I'm now subscribed.
Ha LOL! That is a classic but thanks for sharing it!
***** I thought people would enjoy that one :)
Not many things make me laugh at the moment. BUT that was funny. Keep up the good work nick .👍
Wow! I just sat here shaking my head in disbelief throughout this video! You handled it perfectly, Nic. Sure hope EBAY will remove that negative feedback, as you clearly do NOT deserve it! I'm so sorry this happened to you but thanks for sharing it with the rest of us.
Lisa... :)
MowiesMom It happens..... unfortunately, after many years of internet trading I realise that no matter how hard you try, you will deal with people like this.
It has happened before and will happen again, I must remember to make videos about this sort of thing, people seem to have enjoyed the story :)
Nuts. You are a business man and very good too. Sorry but this story had me in stitches.
Also had this probelm with a board game - customer caved in when I demanded a return (called their bluff) they claimed ok!!
Yes I have had plenty especially Jon Bonjour
How thick has this buyer got to be?? He also has the vote.... scary!!
It reminds me of the twister game I bought from china.
All i got was the mat and spinner lol. Guess thats all i need.
Thanks for the laugh this was hilarious 😂😂😂
I was laughing through the whole video you had me crying 😭
Possibly a little too much lead in the paint on his toys when he was a kid.
You should have apologised and sent him a monopoly £10 note refund.
Haaaa...that would have been rich!
Your a brave man for selling on there. It's full of pillocks and it seems to be getting worse. I've been on there since 2004 even the scammers seem to be getting more elaborate. I've been ripped off a few times.
why didnt you ask for a photo when he first contacted you.
cos he just got angry and jumped down the guys throat, I mean, how dare he say something he sold could be faulty.
Lol 😂 there is some real fools in this world. This made me laugh don't think I would have keeped as cool as you. I'd have offered to come and rip the other half.
Love the videos and because of these vids I've started reselling as well.
Great work nik
Uuuuuhhhh? ? ?
(
LOLOL
(There is some real fools) ? ? ?
(Keeped as cool) ? ? ?
Don't tell me..... It's folded to get in the box, the split one that folds around...can't wait for this!! 🤣 I knew it lol it's unbelievable, shame about the negative feedback tho 😊
Thanks for this informative video Nic, i am going through something as well, with someone who bought an item of mine and claims they bought it out of confusion and wants me to refund immediately and on top of that pay return shipping due to this "confusion" they had 😑 this is my last year on ebay too many scammers
Haha what a first class numpty.the world is full of them.i used to work with a guy who is probably related to this guy.one time we had red cola in our drink machine & he refused to drink it because he thought it was normal cola that had gone off.the best one was one lunchtime he looked in his sandwich at the filling & said not corned beef again.when asked why don't you ask your girlfriend to give you something different he replied she doesn't make my sandwiches I do.
Rob Steele ha ha - very funny :)
the old jokes are the best eh?
Your story keeps getting in the way of some great adverts!!
Yes my thoughts exactly UA-cam are pissing me off now they are literally every 30 seconds
This is the equivalent of buying a jigsaw puzzle, and complaining that it came in pieces.
Reminds me I was driving in a residential street and a cyclist came out from a side road so I had to break sharply. He hurled abuse at me.
I took him to the broken double white lines on the road he had just left and said this means you do not cross these unless safe to do so .
His reply was “Oh! sorry I wondered what they were for, thanks ever so.”
Seems Nic you had his brother or him as a customer.
Hmmm...I'm not convinced, it does look a lot like you ripped the board up so it would fit in that box...
haha, truly unbelievable! Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it, and its good that you can have a sense of humour about this sort of thing. I've had some pretty stupid buyers myself, but I have to admit to never having one this bad! I hope you get the neg sorted pretty quick with team of ebay.
***** Not sure yet how eBay will respond, I may film the phone conversation too LOL, that might make interesting viewing...
We all suffer from this sort of thing when selling online... but this one really stood out and I thought it was worth sharing...
Too be honest, I thought the same thing the first time I seen a board game like that. As a child raised in the 80s boards only folded in half back then.
Sometimes you feel some people are not worth the air space. Someone I know had an issue with a dress who said it arrived damaged then found the person on there social media photos wearing it to a wedding so when they tried to claim a refund case this was used as evidence by seller and eBay saw sense and voted in sellers favour. Remember do your own research if problems arise before contacting the buyer. Or just tell them that’s what your doing first.
The uk trading laws are slightly different when selling second hand for trade and private sellers something eBay does not always reflect in its refund policy.
Omg... Where was this customer located??? This was just to FUNNY... Im goingvto forward this video to all my friends
omfg I wouldn't have been able to breathe with laughter lolol
Did eBay remove the negative feedback? Bet the didn’t! Always on the buyers side. No protection for sellers
PMSL. Funniest thing I've seen for a long time.
There’s idiots in ALL walks of life. I put a portable basketball hoop together for a customer, and got called last night that the poll holding it up was installed incorrect and on a slant. I get there, and sure enough it was crooked, because it was brought out to the street that’s on a hill.😂😂😎
I’ve had two issues with a seller and a buyer on eBay spent £120 for a sealed halo McFarlane figure that was extremely rare it may aswell not of come sealed and then when I messaged them about it they said it was a factory error and not too be picky but it was clearly taped back up from the seal of the cardboard it held the figure in poorly then gave me a bad review calling me a scammer yet I spent £120 for the item that should’ve been sealed and I wouldn’t care if it was £20 but I’ll gladly be picky for spending that much, I then also had a buyer buy two daleks from me took 4 days so eBay cancelled the buy someone bought them the day later and the first seller finally got back to me asking when can I get another again and can I pay cheaper since he had no money and I’m gob smart by some people that think they can just treat you like this
Love it what are they like in real life
lol...You are a very patient man....
You can't legislate for stupid. Here the first thing we ask for from customers is a picture to explain the problem. Usually the problem can be explained and rectified almost immediately. Saves multiple emails, confusion and assumptions on both sides causing frustration.
The number of times a customer has complained about a "feature" of the item that is entirely part of the design, or not read the instructions, fitted it incorrectly, ordered the wrong size, or tried to stuff the item in the wrong place (ooer!).
A picture just clears things up straight away and you can see the customers problem (or non-problem).
Then you get the ones that raise a problem in eBay without even contacting us. or issue negative feedback because they're not feeling well today (nothing to do with the product sold).
I am so glad he shopped with you and not me though I do have several customers I will willingly pass on to you free of charge
The old board games came uncut like that lol
Did you ever think he was getting mixed up with the older type board?
some people ...
At 6 minutes I laughed at 11.50 I wet myself a bit, hahahahahahahaa😂
What a complete tool, I have the same version and I had that since I was 8 and I've never once complained about the split in the board as I know as a child that it's meant to be like that so it's easily foldable! This guy was blatantly out to scam you Nic as he purely the one in the wrong, as soon as I saw his pictures he sent you I burst out laughing, I've worked in retail before and used to get people make silly complaints just to get a refund or free items or discount! These people are damn right pathetic! Good on you Nic keep up the good work of your brilliant eBay selling!
I have to disagree with you. The buyer wasn’t trying to scam him.
The buyer is obviously a moron. He can even use proper grammar in his messages.
I had this same sort of problem when I bought a controller for a wii. I felt really embarrassed afterwards knowing I made a mistake by not setting it up properly and I feel lucky that the seller didn't give me negative feedback thinking I was trying to scam them
I want my money back for these faulty socks they both have holes in the top !
reminds me of someone who will argue long after they have been proven wrong because they just can't stand to lose an argument.
