I have that book, 5th Edition! Mind, I've never toured in Europe (yet!). But am gratified to see that your spectacular routes are readily referenced. I've only dipped into this video and must move on but will definitely get back to it. Thanks.
There is a big difference between camping and bivaking... Also in switserland you can bivak ( one night ) from 22u till 07 in the morning .. I was hiking there for 20 days . Never sleep on a camping... I must say bivaking is only alloyd 500 meters from a road .... Nice movie !
I've just completed viewing of the entire video now! Amazing to say the Least, Well done and Thank you Bart Wesdorp.. You mite want to think about coming over to New Zealand and doing the same.. Something for you to think about anyway!! Give me a yell if your keen Thanks again :-)
Thanks! At the time of year I was there most of the minimal/'hiking'/scenic campings were closing or closed, leaving only the really large and boring campings. I found two small ones that were okay and still open but I stayed in hostels and hotels too. In June most of the remote campings up the mountains will be open so I'd suggest looking into those. Camping in the wild is forbidden in Switzerland and pretty hard to do undetected. Wasn't worth the trouble for me.Maybe someone else has tried?
Okay! I finally completed my viewing of the entire video! Well done, thank you. I see the video's October 2013 publication date; I would like to know during which month(s) / time of the year did you do these rides?
+Sean Coleman Awesome, I always wonder if anyone ever views the entire thing besides me ;) I have a new set coming up from a trip to Bolivia. I went here at mid / end of September I think, way past the season. This is probably why the roads are pretty empty. Sadly, most of the rider meeting spots were as well, and it certainly was nice to have good cold-weather gear because it did get cold sometimes. Still nice enough during the sunny periods though. If those kind of things suit you, that particular time is perfect. If not, a few weeks earlier is probably better
Thanks for your comment, Gili. The camera is an old Contour HD 1080p which is obsolete now. Contour still makes good cameras, and they don't have the Gopro's fisheye effect. It only has a 135 degree angle which is a bit more natural.
looks like it would be a good road to ride when the leaves have turned, but a bit boring otherwise the question is how long before I'd get bored riding this at a boring speed

Fantastic! I rode on most of these roads a couple of years ago. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing and enabled me to see lots of nice places...... and beautiful views....
Fabulous trip, beautiful scenery and one of the nicest bike videos.
The helmet cam is a great way to keep those memories, thanks for sharing them!

I love the horns on those Swiss buses. I wonder if they play 'Dixie' as well.
Thank you!
Great ride. Quite dizzying round those curves. I'd say that was better quality than a Gopro, you don't get the pixellation you get with one of those.

Nice video! I am doing the same thing in June. How were the campings? Did you stealth camp?
😂 Jednostavno ali neverovatno
nice video, but why bother with the audio from the camera, it's just full of wind-noise.
question: why are you so annoying?
Brud i konie 🤣 gdzie Ja tam z nimi będę chciał gadać 🤣🤣🤣
