I loved being able to play as a cop and bust racers all the time, or be a racer running away from them in these super intense highly chaotic chases! To a Degree, NFS Heat provides a bit of the intense chases. However I feel Rivals does it much better- the game itself feels really arcadey and playful which is a feeling I love for NFS. If they were to make a NFS Rivals 2, and or make a new game inspired off of it- I'd mainly want them to take the mechanics with Pursuit and Racer tech, and also have the aggressive and chaotic A.I of the cops and racers. My Dream NFS game really is a mixture of NFS Heat's Graphics and World, Along with Rivals Police and Racer Mechanics, and Unbound's "Spider-Verse" animations/driving effects.. I was a hardcore OG MW fan, grew up with it, then I loved Carbon and didn't even know of any other NFS titles since I kept replaying and switching back and forth between MW and Carbon, and then my dad got me a 360 and I don't know how many times I replayed Rivals, it was one of the best games I've ever played, one of the few games I keep going back to and one of the few that live rent-free in my head.
From someone whom recently started playing rivals (2 days ago) this game is absolutely amazing; I love the fact you can be a cop I’ve been hunting online players all day. Iva already gotten the trophy for 50 racers hunted Almost entirely off of online people😂😂.
Loved this game, and I didn't even bother with the online stuff. Story mode was fun as was the races/chases and stuff to do. Soundtrack was pretty good too. One of the last games I played on PS3.
First game I ever 100% completed, met a random player and we decided to become friends to get the achievements that required a player friend. We got said achievements and never talked after that, not really friends just two people coming together to complete a common goal. This game is really fun.
I just love this game, it was my first nfs title and it was a blast. The feeling when you bank like 200,000 SP in one run was indescribable for me, as was when you couldn't make it. The cinematics when you weren't playing also blew me away, I just stood there watching the detail and beauty of the game. Overall this and burnout paradise were the games that brought me to racing titles and thank God were this 2.
I love the handling model of NFS Rivals. It was almost perfect and could've served as base for additions, like equipping and unequipping an acquired performance upgrade. The drift mechanics is really nice and almost as fast as gripping. Sadly this game did not have a drift vs grip slider for handling style. As well as all cars available to play with without exception for both racers and cops.
Rivals is my personal favorite. The feeling of speed is unmatched in any other racing game I've ever played. And the rush you get from pushing your luck to do just one more race before the cops close in is just so fun.
About that what you said that some people really didn't like Rivals, it's not even far from the worst, period. Rivals is a great game but also underrated, considering the fact that Rivals was released on the 8th generation of consoles. Again, the cops in this game are very deadly, because they're similar to Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted combined together but with new pursuit tech. The bugs and glitches might annoy people when playing this game, but it worked out as one hell of a fun experience. Playing as a Cop is so fun that you can bust Racers anytime as Rivals is set on an open-world setting of Hot Pursuit. The Risk vs. Reward was introduced here in this game, if you want to unlock cars, you need to earn more Speedpoints and complete every task. The more you complete your speedlist, the more you can unlock cars from sports to hyper. Graphics-wise, the scenery is just gorgeous. You've got the snowy mountains like in Eagle Crest Road, the forest just like in Big Timber Pass, the desert area is like Silver Creek and Three Points Road, and the beach area like in Mission Beach. Every area in Rivals is just spot on. And also the soundtrack in this game fucking slaps. Sure it didn't have metal music like Decadence, but it has hard EDM tracks that can make you press your Turbo whenever the beat drops whenever you are participating for an intense race with the cops involved.
This was the first modern Need for Speed I played after 10 years of hearing nothing about the franchise, and I loved it, I don't know why people complain so much about this game cuz is definitely better than other NFS, cops are insanely hard, the handling was pretty decent though it was still B2D, the map and graphics are at another level like, I can't believe that this game came out in 2013 cuz it still keeps up very well for the time, and has probably the best progression in the entire franchise. Is literally Hot Pursuit but with an active open world and they did a great job that sadly no one really appreciated as it should
Same and I thought the cops in Heat were hard but in Rivals are just crazy. Personally for me the damage ruins the game but it would be easy if it was like in Most Wanted 2005
@LuchezaRStoineV I wonder if we consider rivals the hardest cops simply because of the fact that they have weapons to use against us. If they didn’t have any pursuit tech, would they still be as effective is the question.
@@iiTsFaded_ the weapons are cool but EA made them too powerful 1 hit and your car has critical damage. I think this is the reason they made the cops not that hard in Heat because people complained about Rivals. It's still hard in Heat with the 3 repairs only at a game I also hated this when I first played the game but when you get a faster car you can easily escape without even using the repair shops.
@LuchezaRStoineV yeah if they shortened the level cap on some of the weapons I feel they would be more balanced, like level 5 shockwave legitimately sends your vehicle into the ocean if you’re on the coast being chased
Bro it be so hard working them cops, love the vid brudda, definitely the most underrated need for speed there is, my fave personally. Getting to heat level 8- 10, is almost impossible to “get away” from cops, but u can get some serious SP by doing the “repair shop strat”
Rivals and MW2012 are the two reasons I want to dig out my PS3 and see if I can fire it back up. They were such great games, and were up there with my favorites despite how much everyone else seems to have hated them.
This has to be one of the best NFS games out there. The action in the game makes a automatic 10/10 and still really fun to just drive around without being chased by the cops.
EA destroyed Criterion with MW 2012 imo. Initially they was halfway making a loyal MW game and EA wanted to rush them into make a Burnout clone just because they needed a new NFS title built using the Frostbite engine. Joining to NFS franchise is the worst decision that both Alex Ward and Fiona Perry made in their whole career. If they didn't make that bad decision, the Burnout franchise would be still alive. Plus am I the only one who didn't face any glitches or bugs in this game except that short time freezing issue ?
I started playing the game 4 days ago and finished it yesterday, I played the whole game in single player and it was amazing because the cops actually gave me a huge run for my money. I literally lost all my speedpoints as a racer at least 12 times because I took 1 wrong turn away from a repair station or a hideout. The graphics are also really good for the time it came out.
For me that was my childhood i'm now 16 and i have it since i was 7 and i have it on ps3 and 4 and i'm still playing it sometimes And that was my first or second nfs game the first when this is second was the mw 2012
I first started playing this game around early 2014 when my dad got me a ps3 as a gift while I had a cold this was the game which was still new that came with it I’ve done pretty much everything you can plus on the cop side of the game I’ve done everything unlocked and upgraded every car plus the free dlc one: 1 to the max completed every race time trial hot pursuit etc you name it I’ve done it at this point I’ve even recently/yesterday completed the final event the grand tour with every single car from the beginning to end I’ve even completed that event in 8 minutes 57 seconds which I got very lucky getting that epic time I love this game idk if it will be remastered 10 years later soon but only time will tell.💖💖
This was one of my favorite games as a kid, i played it so much and ranked up alot, but one day a problem occurred where the game would freeze and then crash at the menu/loading screen. After a good week of trying to fix this problem to no avail, i gave up on the game. A little later i deleted it. Years later here i am, going through my old games, and i say to myself, hey maybe i should try one more time, and whataya know, it freakin works! So anyways, im coming out of retirement to make some more memories with this wonderful game!
Rivals comes from an era where developers prioritized fun. I'd say we were spoilt at the time and criticized this game for being marginally better than those before it, but in hindsight, NFS has only gone downhill since this game. Whilst Hot Pursuit gets all the praise, this game got bashed for not being enough of an improvement. Side by side, you could argue now that this is the better game of the two and Heat etc, whilst having customization, never really achieved the intensity of the racing that this or Hot Pursuit offered. Even the always online features are the norm now. I'd say a remaster of this game is warranted, but it would take a bit of work because at 60fps, the physics do break.
I got this on the 360, played it and was OBSESSED with lamborghinis, very disappointing to me when I stuck on the ferrari 484 italia. On the xbox one however Im now rank 21 on both sides and my main car is the Lamborghini aventador on the racers side wkth lvl 4 ESF and Shockwave. On the cop side I havent picked a main but loved drkving the Mclaren F1. This is still my favorite NFS, ive played underground 2, the run, hot pursuit, but it doesnt come close to all the memories ive had driving the 484 around while learning new methods to escape the cops... the cops are easy, i mean theyre hard in certain circumstances but they cant hold up in trafficless enviorments, Imo the racers are the challenge because theyve killed ,e on multiple occasions while i sat on the side of the road. Eitehr way, i miss you NFS rivals from the weapons to the cars, you will always be the best
Nfs rivals for me has the best cops in an nfs games it was literally soo hard to escape them at heat lvl 10 they would literally bring out Hennessy's and the Koenigsegg's plus the inclusion of weopens, this game made my heart pump like crazy when I was trying to bank my money in the garage and accidentally ingage in a high heat lvl chase...
I was looking for this type of video because I can’t stand the rivals slander anymore and I find it one of the most memorable titles imo of the franchise
Loved it. Was my first NFS game since Carbon and released on my birthday, so I might be biased. That being said, it was mad fun whenever the 30 fps lock wasn't annoying. Doesn't beat MW2005 but comes close. VERY close. Satisfyingly close.
I'm glad there's still people that like this game, it IS very over looked honestly, playing this again make me wish there was more NFS with this level of car to car combat.
Rivals is my favorite NFS of all time. The open world was good. The car list was good. The racer/cop careers were good. And my god the pursuits were INTENSE. Plus the graphics still hold up to this day. Definitely the NFS that gave me the most chills and joy to play.
Maaan.. Such a great game. Cops, the sense of speed, (lots of jank), weapons, everything's great. I'm glad you mentioned OverWatch as well. Was such a cute app. I'll never forget calling helicopters from my phone, and working for exclusive things there. Sadly, it's unavailable currently. :(( Also, a tip. If you use turbo, learn to use it as frequently as you can. You can take corners with it easily, if you brake early enough. Combine this with common nitro usage, and I had an average speed of about 310 km/h with a decent car (Fully upgraded Audi R8) Nice video!
Once I earned 700,000sp, barely alive, inches away from the repair shop, then a bunch of cops literally spawn in front of me with there tech gear 😂😂 been 6 years since last touched it
Having grown up with Hot Pursuit 2010, I've always loved this game from the start. The sheer movie like adrenaline you get from it is unmatched. Never have I ever felt my heartbeat harder than after just barely escaping a squad of Veyrons and Venoms
The first game I ever played on PS4 right after it launched, and my first nfs. A decade ago, wow time flies! Never really played the game through, I guess I'll have to revisit.
loved this game overall. the physics and gameplay were much better than the 2012 installment. only complaint was lack of true free roam in racer mode (as anytime you would come across a police vehicle, it would automatically start the pursuit) and the horrible 30fps cap
This is probably my favorite/most played game of all time (180 hours, all achievements, everything there is available to do done). It was my first PS4 game, and it is sooooo nostalgic for me. Now I have an actually decent pc, so I'm trying to get my friend group to play it together, since it is available in game pass. I'm so excited to share my childhood to my friends!!!
11 years after release and i´ve come back to complete this game from 0 100 each year for 4 years straight.its crazy how much i enjoy and 11 year old game as much if not more than modern day titles like heat or unbound
Glad you’re having fun! If you’re on Xbox One, the game has crashing issues because when you start, it’s trying to put you into an online lobby. For some reason, that causes the crashes. So, to fix it, you just have to open the game with your internet off, and then you can go to the game’s settings and set the game to single player. After that, it won’t crash when you start it.
I'm not much of a racing game guy, but I did play and love that first MW on ps1 back in the day. I was working at best buy back when the ps4 released and was able to get free codes for all EA game that were available for ps4 at launch or available shortly after. Rivals was one of those and I enjoyed it a lot. Ended up putting around 120 hours into it. It wont happen but I wish they'd release a performance patch or something for ps5 and get that fps to 60.
I used to play this game on my old Xbox 360 I grinder the one interceptor had hundreds of millions of sp and had all the cars including the konnisegg except the dang Maserati. I just got the game on my pc again and now have all the cars again except the Maserati. Glad to see people enjoy this game.
I played it for the first time this year myself. It was also my first need for speed because I liked the idea of playing a cop or criminal. I was actually quite shocked to hear that this was the most hated in the franchise, because I really liked the high risk reward gameplay and the smooth transition's between events and just free roaming. I tried NFS unbound and it just made me want to play rivals again lol.
I love most nfs titles, this one included, my only complaint is as im fairly new to rivals if i go into a not unlocked area my car starts buggin and i cant move unless i restart, but other than that its a great game!
Multiplayer is so fun, having a friend as a cop and you as a racer is the best. I love that you can upgrade your vehicles, but i do wish that the costamize feature wouldve gone more in depth. Plus this game has the best soundtracks ever, but the map itself is kinda small and after 10 hours of gameplay you have basically seen and been on every single road.
i loved this game when it was new. coming home and playing online with family and friends from school. the game was very fast paced in my opinion too, especially racing when cops were chasing you. to me this game gave me the same feeling 2005 mw gave me back when i was a little kid
the feeling of driving is unmatched, the music isn't my cup of tea so i turn it off and put on my adrenalin pumping playlist and i get shivers as im in a Hennessy venom sliding around corners, trying to stop group of racers. or in a Pagani Huayra, seeing the aero flaps moving around as im moving through traffic, barely dodging other racers and roadblocks. both NFS hot pursuit and rivals are games i played at release back on my ps3 when i was a kid, and now with time I've gotten a new appreciation for the cars (the Huayra is my favorite car of all time just for the aero flaps that are constantly moving in game).
Ok hear me out, the first NFS game I got familiar with was the mobile version of Hot Pursuit BUT for console it was NFSMW12 and for that I loved the game it was just really fun in my min. On the other hand I’m playing rivals while watching this video so personally this game is awesome so much adrenaline.
Grand Tour is such an underrated final event in the history of NFS games. I always like world sprints. My favorite thing to do was get to heat 10 before starting the event for the maximum challenge possible.
@@iiTsFaded_ Absolutely amazing, it shows all the places of the game, first the forest, then the snowy land, the desert highway, all the contents are there.

From someone whom recently started playing rivals (2 days ago) this game is absolutely amazing; I love the fact you can be a cop I’ve been hunting online players all day.
Iva already gotten the trophy for 50 racers hunted Almost entirely off of online people😂😂.
I love it cause most of them are super low levels with slower cars so it's an easy bust lmao
yeah i grew up on this game when i was a kid and still today play it and it is easily one of the best games that nfs has
@@eshanadatia9419playing right now, last time I played was on 2015 in december...
i played for 2 hours and i was having absolute fun.
When I was younger, I woke up at 5 am every morning to play it and I completed the story. The music while driving was one of the best parts to.
The handling in NFS RIVALS is way more intuitive and fun unlike in NFS 2015 and Unbound.
@@purwantiallan5089don’t even get me started on grip builds in 2015, COMPLETE JOKE. They understeeered so much.
game is underrated
Criminally underrated
@@iiTsFaded_fr not gonna lie
This was my first NFS game, and it was amazing. Such great mechanics, graphics, driving, and a solid story idea! The cutscenes are so sick! :D
Rivals is my personal favorite. The feeling of speed is unmatched in any other racing game I've ever played. And the rush you get from pushing your luck to do just one more race before the cops close in is just so fun.
Though the game still have bugs like noclip out of map, but still the best game.
Can you listen the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club songs like "Singing, Dreaming, Now" in NFS RIVALS?
@@purwantiallan5089 What do you even freaking mean bro? Like I'm so confused on what you said. Make it fucking clear.
I absolutely loved it on my PS4 for multiple years. My first NFS game too.
most underrated nfs besides the run
Shift titles as well!
If the GRAND TOUR pursuit didn’t make you have an adrenaline rush I don’t know what will 😂😂
feels like their attempt at the race at the end of the nfs movie
This was the first modern Need for Speed I played after 10 years of hearing nothing about the franchise, and I loved it, I don't know why people complain so much about this game cuz is definitely better than other NFS, cops are insanely hard, the handling was pretty decent though it was still B2D, the map and graphics are at another level like, I can't believe that this game came out in 2013 cuz it still keeps up very well for the time, and has probably the best progression in the entire franchise. Is literally Hot Pursuit but with an active open world and they did a great job that sadly no one really appreciated as it should
i love rivals, it kept me entertained and it was stressful
Definitely the most heart pumping nfs game!
I love rivals because it was my childhood game, I still love it to this day
I love this game this is probably my most played nfs game
But if you closed your eyes
Does it almost feel like nothing changes at all?
When i first played this game, I thought it was one of the hardest games ever
Cops on this game were way too difficult but I think that’s what made it fun
Need for Speed Rivals is my favourite❤
It's one of mine too!
Driving in the snowy mountain at night is a amazing experience in this game.💙🌌
MW12 and rivals are some of my favorite games. I also like HP10 & the run a lot too. (Played both Wii, 360 and HP remastered)
Same here, didn’t have very many bugs if at all
I started playing the game 4 days ago and finished it yesterday, I played the whole game in single player and it was amazing because the cops actually gave me a huge run for my money. I literally lost all my speedpoints as a racer at least 12 times because I took 1 wrong turn away from a repair station or a hideout. The graphics are also really good for the time it came out.
Great vid Man!
For me that was my childhood i'm now 16 and i have it since i was 7 and i have it on ps3 and 4 and i'm still playing it sometimes
And that was my first or second nfs game the first when this is second was the mw 2012
Rivals is my all-time favourite game, i been playing this since its release and i still enjoy it to the fullest.
I admit after 9 years I have returned to the game since I finally bought my own xbox and this game is still so good and underrated
So anyways, im coming out of retirement to make some more memories with this wonderful game!
we love you Kyle ❤
Nothing like getting hit with an ESF and being pushed off the map -_-
I was looking for this type of video because I can’t stand the rivals slander anymore and I find it one of the most memorable titles imo of the franchise
I played this back in ps3 and hell the graphics are so over the top for it's time. The police are no joke here I tell you that.
Loved it. Was my first NFS game since Carbon and released on my birthday, so I might be biased. That being said, it was mad fun whenever the 30 fps lock wasn't annoying. Doesn't beat MW2005 but comes close. VERY close. Satisfyingly close.
Just bought it with all dlc for 2.99 on psn figured I'd see what it was about
The last nfs i played. Hands down a great game. I loved the car selection and the options to escape and catch criminals.
I'm glad there's still people that like this game, it IS very over looked honestly, playing this again make me wish there was more NFS with this level of car to car combat.
I hope we get another game like this again, we didn't know what we had back in 2013 :(
Rivals is my favorite NFS of all time. The open world was good. The car list was good. The racer/cop careers were good. And my god the pursuits were INTENSE. Plus the graphics still hold up to this day. Definitely the NFS that gave me the most chills and joy to play.
I played this alot online and had a blast. Not as bad as people say i feel.
Also, a tip. If you use turbo, learn to use it as frequently as you can. You can take corners with it easily, if you brake early enough. Combine this with common nitro usage, and I had an average speed of about 310 km/h with a decent car (Fully upgraded Audi R8)
Nice video!
The sense of speed with the fully leveled up turbo is much better in this game than in hot pursuit imo, man did we take rivals for granted
nfs rivals is my favorite game
need for Speed Rivals has the best quality❤❤
Once I earned 700,000sp, barely alive, inches away from the repair shop, then a bunch of cops literally spawn in front of me with there tech gear 😂😂
been 6 years since last touched it
RIP. once cops busted me with one million sp. i had an aventador and those idiots sent three veyrons and a koenigsegg one:1 after me
One of the best in the series, brutal cops and high speed chases
Literally what I want in a need for speed game
Having grown up with Hot Pursuit 2010, I've always loved this game from the start. The sheer movie like adrenaline you get from it is unmatched.
Never have I ever felt my heartbeat harder than after just barely escaping a squad of Veyrons and Venoms
I honestly LOVE this game. Definitely my Top 5 from Need for Speed
This is currently on sale for $.99 from EA
For me, it's 1,99.
The first game I ever played on PS4 right after it launched, and my first nfs. A decade ago, wow time flies! Never really played the game through, I guess I'll have to revisit.
Loved this game, I got it on Xbox one and PS4.
loved this game overall. the physics and gameplay were much better than the 2012 installment. only complaint was lack of true free roam in racer mode (as anytime you would come across a police vehicle, it would automatically start the pursuit) and the horrible 30fps cap
I’ve played every need for speed since underground, but rivals will always be my favorite
I came back to this game after getting 3070. This game is insaneeee
I love this map too..
honestly most wanted 2012 and the older one are both great games
I just got this game today and i did enjoy it but their were some crashes i got when booting up the game but its still fun to play.
Thanks for the tip
I will be sure to do that@@iiTsFaded_
I missed being able to manually change gears.
I liked playing as the cop those weapons are the best
I'm not much of a racing game guy, but I did play and love that first MW on ps1 back in the day. I was working at best buy back when the ps4 released and was able to get free codes for all EA game that were available for ps4 at launch or available shortly after. Rivals was one of those and I enjoyed it a lot. Ended up putting around 120 hours into it. It wont happen but I wish they'd release a performance patch or something for ps5 and get that fps to 60.
so much frustration with this game's pursuit system
felt
I love most nfs titles, this one included, my only complaint is as im fairly new to rivals if i go into a not unlocked area my car starts buggin and i cant move unless i restart, but other than that its a great game!
this is a masterpiece. i hayed it when it came out, but a few years later, this shines like a diamond
this brang back so much memories man i used to just spend countless hours driving around
Hot Pursuit, Rivals, and Most Wanted 2012 were my childhood games, they are still games I go back to today and enjoy.
14 year old me loved it and replaying it last year, i loved it all over. Def the most underrated nfs
My Experience With the game summerized in one word frustration.
This game is so underated in my opinion. It is a great game.
the feeling of driving is unmatched, the music isn't my cup of tea so i turn it off and put on my adrenalin pumping playlist and i get shivers as im in a Hennessy venom sliding around corners, trying to stop group of racers. or in a Pagani Huayra, seeing the aero flaps moving around as im moving through traffic, barely dodging other racers and roadblocks.
both NFS hot pursuit and rivals are games i played at release back on my ps3 when i was a kid, and now with time I've gotten a new appreciation for the cars (the Huayra is my favorite car of all time just for the aero flaps that are constantly moving in game).
This was my first need for speed game and I still love it to this day
I finished this game about 5 months ago and it was definitely hard, the cops were brutal and especially the last race was very fun.
Nice video. This game really defined my childhood. wish i could play it for the first time again
As a person who was raised on titles like Underground 1 and 2, the first Most Wanted and Carbon, Need For Speed Rivals was an incredibly fun experience for me and in my opnion, one of the best nfs games in the series. I have fond memories of this game.
i love this game and it was my fav game
this game is amazing it represents the nfs franchise
