This looks great. Appears to fix slop of the MOE and having to lock the CTR. Will definitely be trying one of these out.
Don’t do it same slop mechanism has enough tension to stop rattle when shaken but not enough tension to effect lockup movement

Just got one in OD Green two days ago for a build for my youngest son. Absolutely love this stock. A great blend of function, strength and looks. I will without a doubt be buying one in black for myself. Good job Magpul.

Looks like a winner! What made you guys decide against the top horizontal sling slots on this stock? It even looks like there are vestiges of them in those dimples. Are they not used as much anymore?
Likely strength and sealing the system more, if you aren’t using QDs but you buy a magpul stock than What are you even doing???
The dimples are for accessory mounting (as shown) which means these should mount SC irregular GBRS and Larue risers out of the box which is a huge win, accessories like those are much of what’s made the CTR last so long

I like having the option of the sling cut out top side like the sl. Qd is always great, but I've grown to prefer the sl placement, tight, quiet, don't have to rely on qd. I run alot of lunar concept slings and just grown to love that old placement. It's all good tho. I'll still nab a few of these. They look real nice
It looks a bit similar to the Hera CCS stock. I have 2 of them,and they have zero wiggle. Magpul should just start making a rifle,like Geissele did. The rifle would constantly be on backorded.
More like the ARK defense/ECS stock same adjustment same qd point same rolling curve butt pad design
@TheIntellectualSlacker cool, I've never heard of the stock you mentioned. I've only bought, Magpul, Hera,Strike industries, and Mission first Tactical AR stocks. Only 4 different stocks for the 33 ARs ive built and Cerakoted to date for customers.
I needed a stock so I have one on the way. I have the CTR & the MOE already. I will let you guys know which works best for me.

damn as much as i love my Hera CCS for aesthetics... this one wins with the ease of adjust ability
If you already have a Magpul CTR stock or similar stock, i worldnt buy this. Snd most ARs don't have enough drop in the stock that you need a cheek riser. If you need s check riser that tells me your scope is probably mounted too high.

My one thing is why did you guys remove the horizontal slots.. iykyk that’s the best spot to run your sling if you already have a Qd up front.

Mil spec and CAR style stocks have a tendency to break the shear pin when you mortar them. VLTOR improved them and most stocks have adapted similar designs but occasionally people haven't heard about them and they'll release a stock with a weak pin

Finally! Forget all the other features and improvements, I'm just happy that you guys finally put a rotation-limited QD socket on one of your stocks for once... it's absurd that all your other stock's QDs are free spinning. A non-anti rotation QD cup is utterly useless.

It doesn't look like the LaRue RISR will fit on this one like it does the CTR. That's too bad cause that's the main reason I run a CTR.

I have the moe sl and i cant see why this would be better. The moe sl has qd sling in the perfect spot, no slop, and is light.
“Better” butt pad and I think it’s stronger, not that carbine stocks haven’t been more than strong enough since 20 years ago, compared to the SL this can mount cheek accessories which are becoming more popular for…. ”reasons”
It’s also gonna adjust better than the SL did (in my experience at least) as the SL was tight to move during adjustment but this thing promises not to be

Yes, stronger, better butt pad, better cheek weld, better retention system with just a single latch, fits tighter on the tube because of this, mounts CTR cheek risers, has all the features of the CTR but aftermarket butt pads, get one when they’re back in stock

@@Mrcalifornia97 any milspec buffer tube, and the stocks shown on it are made for milspec buffer tubes so I’d say yes, truth is 99.99% of buffer tubes out there today are milspec, nobody make’s commercial spec stuff that I know of so chances are you’ll be good with any buffer tube

Man I just bought extended butt pads for my CTRs to give them the rounded foot of the SL stocks. Ha. And of course these are out of stock in FDE. Oh well.

Magpul stocks have always been stronger, especially this one, but I’d agree with previous stocks from magpul you either got wobble, wobble with a side of second latch to fix wobble, or tight a heck but that tightness stays with adjustment, meanwhile BCM stocks have a good balance of tight but loose during adjustment, however I still get mustache hairs painfully ripped from my face by BCM stocks all the time so they aren’t perfect
Fair… but my bcm gunfighter has zero wobble, can’t snag in anything, is over built , and stronger than just about anything out there…I have them on every AR and AK. I’ll pick

@@jaredlostetter265 you definitely don’t need this for anything, it’s not gonna serve you any better than a BCM, that said it is supposedly way stronger and unlike BCM stocks which collapse under impact (by design) magpul stocks don’t do this, and while I obviously haven’t tested the DT I’d bet it’s a tighter fit than the bcm, but possibly not enough so to stop stealing my mustache hairs
Anyway if you like the cheek weld on a bcm gunfighter than I’d say just stick to that as it probably gonna be a lot different feeling than the magpul
@@MatthewC176 the recently released BCM "mod 2" stocks are a bit longer cheek piece than the old models, which might help with the front edge tugging on facial hair

Could y’all just tighten the specs of the CTR stock?
This solution is much better, allows smooth adjustment and tight locking with one latch, I had an SL on a Geissele Anodized DDC buffer tube (maybe that color/process made it thicker?) and the SL stock was super tight during adjustment, that’s poor design compared to this, this is the way, no reason to update an old stock when you have a new better design that doesn’t lack any features (besides additional butt pads for now at least)
Is the enhanced stock pad compatible with this?
Doubt it, gonna need to ask/wait on them for new butt pads, hopefully they will come, along with a full line of DT stocks (compact and storage)
Does it leave enough room for water to drain out of the buffer tube?

Yup, that’s how evolution works? They haven’t built a *real* new carbine stock in a while and this is it, improved via design, not improved because they purposely built the older stuff worse

Does not work as advertised I was going to buy ANOTHER sl because it’s arguably the best magpul stock lockup wise stable sturdy no wobble or rattle but still adjusts smoothly this thing is nowhere near I’m actually sad it looks great but I have all kinds of slop on a mil spec tube I actually tried it on multiple thinking maybe that one was just out of spec and I got the same thing across multiple brands mil spec carbine reciever extensions has movement left right up and down but the dt mechanism doesn’t let it rattle when shaken that’s IT AND LUCKY me I ordered it on sale and apparently sale items cannot be returned 😅

Does anyone here have a Magpul enhanced buffer tube? When you bought it did it have cosmetic imperfections (I read that several people had that issue.) Do you like the buffer tube? Did it reduce any wobble and has it attracted any positive lady attention? Thanks

So basically it's an MOE stock with a stronger spring 🙃
No, has an all new system that hugs around the buffer tube rail when the locking pin goes up, that way it’s loose during adjustment and tight when in a position, probably the best design I’ve seen yet for a locking system, the stock it’s self is similar to an MOE/CTR but with less sling loops and a new proprietary butt pad so we’ll have to wait for magpul to make an extended one, I’m hoping we get a line based on this stock that includes a storage and compact version as we’ve seen with the SL line but for the most part it’s a super strong MOE with a simple but effective wobble free lock up

I have the moe and ctr. What’s the difference really?
Better locking system then both, you get the tightness of the SL line with the smooth adjustment of the MOE/CTR as well as their butt pad and cheek accessories while having strength greater than both
