I think anyone who wants to play Hitman as a proper VR game will inevitably be disappointed, no matter how much work is put into it by IO or XR. It's best viewed as a fun (and on PSVR 1 and PC, free!) extra feature that just lets you mess around a bit and immerse yourself in maps that'll always function better on a flat screen. It's purely additive, not a substitute for the real game. ...so why XR thought they should sell it as a standalone game, let alone on hardware that seems to be incapable of handling the full WoA experience, is beyond me. It's like giving someone who's new to the franchise the Deluxe Pack.
Everyone remember that this is running on a mobile processor on Android on an actually affordable VR headset. If you want top tier performance, use the appropriate hardware. For what it is, I love it, and I appreciate that IO decided to invest the resources required to make it exist. I hope that they continue to show interest in VR as the hardware capabilities further develop, whether it's with Hitman or the James Bond stuff that they are pouring resources into now. Thank you for taking the time to create this content Volvomodus!
Publishers need to get it in their heads that the only way a VR game will be a critical and commercial success is if it's designed for VR from the beginning. Turning flatscreen games into VR just doesn’t have pretty results
Granted I still have my standards set pretty low but based on the reveal of IOI's version it's literally night and day xD...really hope IOI actually took all the criticism to heart with the new version
I understand from a money perspective that IOI wants to milk their work to the fullest and get into as many markets as possible. Xbox, PS, PSVR, Steam, Epic and now Quest, the game is already done, so to adapt it to Quest is an easy port. I've left several tickets about VR on IOI's web page, and some of the complaints I left, has been improved in the Quest standalone version. But what is lacking is their beta and release version testing, they do not test the PC VR port enough and didn't test this one either. Seeing that chandelier shot you did, I don't think I could pull that off on PC VR, the guns shake way too much and there's no stabilization. It doesn't feel like a VR game, the small changes they did to the inventory and the watch with the map still doesn't help make it better. Even that mod that adds more uses for syringes and stuff in VR, should have been default in the game. And there's no freelancer VR support, which could have made the game really fun.

It looks better, but it still feels extremely jarring.

props to u that reloaded version of game is so bad
😲😲😲😲
I want VR SO BAD!! 😭😭😭🤣
Honestly, the graphics are very bad. The original game is much much better.
I don't feel VR games in general will be in the gaming market.
Not in general, perhaps, but Arkham Shadow really defies all expectations for a VR game. So I wouldn't give my hopes up completely 😉
look at batman, now look at this.
look at metro, now look at this.
even if you don't care about graphics, it's just straight ugly
The graphics look so bad
