It's a tragedy that she can't sing like this anymore after her throat surgery. It's a blessing that she recorded a lot of songs for all of us to enjoy. Julie is an international treasure.
You should listen to Julie and Raven-Symone's recording of 'Your Crowning Glory' for the PRINCESS DIARIES 2 soundtrack. Julie may no longer be able to hit high notes, but she still sounds fantastic!
I absolutely LOVE Julie Andrews' version of Edelweiss.
INOLBIDABLE!!!
It's Julie that fills my heart with the sound of music... straight from heaven this woman came
I am totally amazed that Ms Andrews can still sing these songs SO beautifully 30 years after the original movie and score was released. She is a remarkable and very blessed talent!
Her voice is... I can't find a word to describe her amazing, beautiful voice! But even that warm and sweet and happy way she did and still do everything, with her whole heart! I just love her! Thank you, Julie!!
She sings with her heart and soul♥️🤩♥️
I’m so glad we can still hear her sing most beautiful song and Julie is as beautiful today as ever, just love her❤️
Does anyone else agree that even though she can't sing like that now, she's still really good
J.A. still sounds great in my book.
I loved her and that beautiful voice. She just could do everything!!! She’s now 83 and I still think she’s the most beautiful lady living!!!! May, 2019
She's now an astounding 84! (November 2019)
Julie will be 88 on October 1st. 2023! What an amazing icon and a very dear fun talented caring beauty!!
Our Queen from England!! Love you Jules!! ❤❤❤❤❤
I met Ms.Andrews in 1987 on the back parking of Fox Theater in St.Louis,MO.I waited in line to speak with her,and I welcomed her to St.Louis, and told her I think she has guts and I like people who have guts.I shook her hand while expressing this to her,and she smiled.I think Ms.Andrews IS One Genuine,Caring.Loving,Decent,Honest Human Being.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
These beautiful selections were recorded for Julie's Philips album, "Broadway: The Music Of Richard Rodgers", with brilliant backing by maestro Ian Fraser and the London Musicians Orchestra.
I remember Christmas was sitting with my mum watching and listening to the sound of music. Her favourite film. My favourite film. Now passed away (my mum that is) , hearing Julie always brings me to tears. What a wonderful, unsurpassable voice.
It is a thing of joy to watch Julie Andrews sing these songs. Her heart and soul is so present and bring the listener into the song. I stand in complete awe.

at 5:38 it suddenly modulates its key from C# to D without anticipation which she had to lead it and she did it perfectly. how??she's a genius
I'm not a music major so I didn't even notice. You have a very good ear!
In the documentary "Julie" from 1972 (okay a lot earlier than this) she is discussing songs as a pianist tries out music in different keys at the behest of arranger Nelson Riddle. She switches effortlessly from one key to another. She truly had perfect pitch or whatever music theorists want to call it.
She has perfect pitch.
I was thinking the exact same thing! I heard that, and I gasped, hoping that she could handle it (of course she can), and she did! It was incredible!! Of course, she has perfect pitch so it isn't a huge thing for her, but wow. She does it when she sings in concert as well. Amazes me every time!
Chris, switching keys in terms of arrangements and just trying the piece out doesn't require perfect pitch. She was however a truly gifted and wonderful musician.
Julie is a creative genius! I love her & I miss her but deeply gratified for everything she's done! World class legend that she is! Julie I dunno what the word would do without you!
Love Julie Andrews, beautiful vocal like no others.
I love Julie Andrews so much. God bless and stay safe
Makes me cry to hear her most beautiful "gift", as she always refers to it, that was taken from her. My heart breaks for hers....and I pray for God to completely restore her vocal gift. Whatever His reasons for having allowed Julie to lose a portion of her gift, I believe something good will come of it. And it could result in a medical breakthrough that will correct and reverse the damage done...Julie is part of the organization that is researching for this restoration for not only herself but for the many millions of people that have lost their voices. If she hadn't lost her voice, then this organization, which I believe is probably doing a lot of good, would not have been formed. So, perhaps God allowed Julie's tragedy in order to ultimately create a blessing for her and many millions of others who suffer along with her. I do pray for the success of this organization and for all people, especially for my friend and for Julie Andrews to receive complete and perfect and speedy healing of their vocal instruments. In Jesus' Name. :)
I didn't realise the recording of this album had been filmed till now, it's the first time I've seen this! I love the way she laughs at the end & flexes her back :-D No wonder she misses the singing sometimes.
Wonderful singing, Julie! Wonderful, wonderful!
I love you JulieAndrews. You've always made me cry the beautufulest
I just love Julie Andrews. She's the most beautiful lady alive. Such a shame she lost her singing voice. She is the best.
Ms. Schiller, I too deeply regret that Dame Julie is no longer able to sing like she used to due to the botched throat surgery she had back in the late 90s, but even if she hadn't had that surgery to start with, she might still not be able to sing like she used to because she's now in her eighties. (Julie was born Oct. 1, 1935 in Walton, England, UK.)
I'm only fifty one .. but back in the 80s I used to sing this song to my beautiful daughter
Wonderful!👸🎤🎧👍👏

Mieux encore que la version de 1965 ! Délicatesse, charme et puissance. Et quelle diction derrière les modulations de la voix !
You're making me cry... :(

And I'll sing once more.... this CD was her last recording before she lost her voice.
Latisha Collins she actually did one other album on the Philips label about the same time which featured a Camelot medley :-)
Simon Ramsay I wasn't sure of the chronology. For some reason, I thought the Lerner album came out first.
Wow ! 👏👏👏👍👍👍
my funeral song 50 years from now.
Julie is the reason why i sing proper english
6:58 on, has the same motif when the helicopter arrives at Jurrasic Park Island in the movie.
