Yup... the "Trust Me Bro" warranty is real... .I ordered the crop top sweatshirt and matching sweatpants in Large for my SIL for Xmas... back in May... When she got them for Christmas, even though they were both marked large, she said the top fit like a medium and the pants fit like XL.. Even though it had been MONTHS since I'd received the sweats, when I contacted LTT support, even though it took a couple days to get a response, they immediately took care of it.. A couple of emails later, she has a replacement top and pants on the way, at ZERO charge to me.. perfect support from a great company.

PS Keep in mind that black coating on the shaft WILL SCRATCH.... so no points if you complain about that.. ;) But yeah, the bit holder in the first one was dead wrong... someone in QC must have missed it.. the two I got were perfect out of the box..

@@htr5372 I think they tried a bunch of different alternatives but didn't want to make the shaft out of anything different than the silver shaft drivers so that means a coating and all the coatings they tried all scratched to the silver eventually... BTW... these screwdrivers are actually going for upwards of $200 on eBay?!?!??!??!? Holy crap...

I'm glad LTT Store support offered a replacement; it seems they're honoring the spirit of Linus' statements about warranty, at least!

I wonder what caused the initial issue. If it was broken and transport or if it was just a manufacturing issue. Good to see it wasn't a universal design flaw.

I am very disappointed in my as well. The bits coming in carboard box without a holder alone make this, not a premium product. I cheap one that I got years ago on Amazon came with a bit holder for the extra bits.

Ask yourself if you really need a ratcheting screwdriver that can't do more things than a normal screwdriver can.

@@barnett25 project farm didn't use the right megapro, so I understand why you think that those advantages are true. Had he used the like for like megapro, I doubt you'd be so quick to tout the advantages. Only reason the magnetic force is stronger is due to the shorter, non standard bits which isn't a pro to me. Also, made in north America vs China is the largest pro in my book. Shame that ltt moved their production to China buy still charges a premium price for this.

    • @-opus
      @-opus Рік тому +1

@@barnett25 The shorter (I assume proprietary bits?) are definitely not a positive, being shorter and being non-standard are both negatives in this instance. I assume the other traits are improvements, although I doubt modified knurling is much of a big deal, unless the megapro knurling is ridiculously bad. The reversed dial could just lead to confusion, if it is opposite to basically every other ratcheting tool that has ever existed. I am not sure why they would have implemented that change. Magnetic strength is always a benefit, as long as it is not over top (cases and other components are often metal, you do not want your screwdriver attracted to them). Lower back drag is a good thing, I am unaware of whether that is a known issue with the megapro one(s) not rebranded as ltt though?

    • @-opus
      @-opus Рік тому

@@htr5372 Grip tape is a weird suggestion, knurling would be somewhat difficult without a lathe, but it is nothing to get excited about either. No doubt a bit of grip would be handy if you are just spinning the shaft by hand, but obviously you could also just use a normal screwdriver and umm... turn it. I have a variety of screwdrivers, but when working on a pc, my be quiet #2 phillips is the first choice due its long shaft. A ratcheting bulky multi-bit screwdriver for pcs is just marketing in my opinion.

@@Okurka. Your point about tight spaces is fair, although none of my standard fixed-shaft screwdrivers are much smaller, otherwise they’d be unnecessarily uncomfortable to use. But think about putting together IKEA furniture for example, you often have to hold things in position with one hand while you drive the screw with the other, and it’s way easier when you don’t have to continually reposition your hand every quarter turn or whatever to get enough leverage to drive it.
But honestly my favorite thing about it is how insanely strong the magnet is, no screw is coming off that tip until it’s driven.
