Great to see some appreciation for independent animated films. Independent films are sadly an unfairly overlooked part of film medium cause they can get easily overshadowed by more mainstream films from the Hollywood studio system.
I also love Finding Nemo as well and it’s amazing how well the water settings and animation still holds up very well 2 decades later. Although I do agree some parts of the animation can be dated. The fish characters still look great, but the humans…. yeah, you can tell Pixar still had a long way to go when creating and animating human characters. To paraphrase AniMat from his Classic Review of Madagascar: “I don’t know about you but if I was living in Sydney, Australia where the humans looked like THIS, I’d too want to escape into the ocean.”
Luckily they aren't in the movie much lol
@@RachelsReviews True. One good thing I’ll say is that at least it’s a slight step-up from the humans in Toy Story, but I think the film before Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc., had better looking human characters with Boo and the human children.
I guess the humans were good enough in all those films. Was never a real problem for me. The quality of the scripts will always win the day for me and I'd take this era of Pixar scripts over almost any of recent memory
Since Ratatouille has a critic as a character, i think this might as well be critics’ favorite animated movie.
It certainly makes for a natural fit lol
For me, I think the LEGO Movie’s one of the best movies and one of the best animated movies period.
It's a great one
