I just love the fact that you are grown up and still willing to take the time to act like a kid! This was a project after my own heart, even though it didn’t work. Give a little bit more time in the think box and I’m sure you can make it work! At least for something❤ thank you I needed that!
Luke, Coming from California, I literally love having my morning coffee and laughing my butt off viewing your videos on your adventures, expeditions, experimentations and treasure hunts! This one is funny as living hell, as usual. You are one unique cat dude! Keep doing what you do - our World is overdue for more people like you to give us happy times and funny experiences!
I'm not kidding my great grandfather drove a horse and carriage over some part of the frozen Chesapeake as a bet. He won the bet and thank goodness, or I would never have been born. I love the Pixie!
"Started with something that worked and spent all day making something that doesn't work at all." Dude, trust me, you learned more than you think you did.
You: Standing by a frozen river: Me: Sitting on my couch holding a cup of coffee. You : We ain’t scared to swim! Me: That’s right, not one bit! We can totally do this!
An old sketchy looking saw on salt water with AC voltage powering it- What could go wrong? My favorite part is after he goes out to sea he learns that it actually turns too! Love your enthusiasm!
You should have tried a paddle wheel made of ice skate blades....wait, how about hacksaw blades?! The mind boggles at the possibilities!!! Have a great weekend!!
When I was 12 years old, our neighbor gave me that exact same make skiff. I had incredible days fishing with it in our neighborhood lake outside Athens Georgia. Brought back great memories.
I’m gunna be very honest with you because it has such a look of the crab boat and you’re such a creative guy I’d love to watch you build it into a mine replica of the big one because of it’s shape I mean it’s almost a sign from the heavens and let’s be real you’re absolutely the guy to tackle the job! 100% love you man thank you for everything you do! I pray you see this and maybe give it some thoughts!
Back in the 40's they made a motor called a Scratcher for ice boats they used big chain gears , the rototiller would work if you made a transom bracket and a smaller 2 stroke motor , the tines would push you along !
One of those small ground tillers way work better? Or possibly just a wheel on the outboard rather than a prop, except youd have to mount it sideways....and then drill a heap of roofing screws into the tyre for some bite on the ice. I approve of this madness.....it gives me a visceral feeling of happiness deep in my loins, which I have girded appropriately. Edit: I should have watched the entire vid before I commented haha. What can I say....a man after my own heart. This madness is fantastic and I'm here for it all. It's been well over 35°c here in Australia...I will swap you that freezing weather in a second flat!
Your wife married a man with a little kids heart.. Absolutely Love these crazy ideas. If you could figure out how to get a ball that was super grippy to mount to the trolling motor.. Or something oval with teeth. Add steel runners to the bottom.. like iceskates
Im not done watching yet but that rototiller brought back memories. My neighbor had one real similar, i got it running for them years ago. The tines spun the same direction as the tires do to move forward. I took many "high speed" runs across our garden testing it out. Lol The tines spun at least twice as fast as the tires did 😂
You need a drive wheel similar to a front throwing lawn mower. Make it from a bunch of sprockets welded/bolted together. It would be wide enough (about 1ft wide) to get traction and heavy enough to stay on the ice without effort on your part. Get an electric motor that can drive it tho. I don't think the trolling motor will move it. A lawn mower engine would.
Circularlike saw good great size surface area. The second smaller circularsaw does not appear to work because too small surface area against the frozen water ice cut to slush.
I use Hockey Skates, 4 pairs under my Fish hut and it glides like a dream. (but no more than 2 inches of snow and hard ice) A Skate paddle paddle wheel might work with low rpm. Good luck with you RND
Power tools from the turn of the century is such an interesting sentence lol. For folks of a certain age, turn of the century in your mind has always meant the 1900s. When power tools like that didn't exist. Now it's a legit description denoting "long time ago" for 2000 cause we're nearly a 1/4 into this century.
I going to get on board with this, try using a chain from a chain saw, reverse the chain and use a bike sprocket. The guide teeth on the chain saw chain should maybe dig into the ice.🤷If one chain doesn't work try two sprocket bolted together with spacers and a second chain about like a river paddle boat.
Dude youre so cool and so smart! Im so impressed with your knowledge! I love all your little adventures. If you ever need an extra hand i wouldnt mind coming from texas to help you. You wouldnt have to pay me. I would go just to learn! Blessings
Way back in the 60's we had a summer place at the lake one of the neighbor kids had a similar boat about that size with a 18 hp Evinrude , we called it a flipper boat and it would fly down the lake.

Never let go being a kid and ul never feel old
I'm enjoying Luke's scientific endeavors. God bless Lindsey.
That was worth the 19min break in my day!!! LOL I was cringing so much with the saw blade!!! Keep these videos coming!!!

Thank you for watching!!
I can’t agree with you enough on that!!!!
Isn’t that the story of so many projects!
This is the best "For Science" channel I've found at least in a long time lol keep up the great work.
These guys are beasts. You see the Trash Wheel?
@@rubetube4727 I’m not actually sure.. I found this channel like a month or two ago
This is the only acceptable one frl
I love that the larger version of the Pixie is the "Econo-Dink" 😂
You: Standing by a frozen river:
Me: Sitting on my couch holding a cup of coffee.
You : We ain’t scared to swim!
Me: That’s right, not one bit! We can totally do this!
Ha ha ha ha!! Yep!!!
Never a dull video with Luke McFadden. 😂
An old sketchy looking saw on salt water with AC voltage powering it- What could go wrong? My favorite part is after he goes out to sea he learns that it actually turns too! Love your enthusiasm!
The fact that he thinks a rototiller is a snowblower is hilarious LOL
9:51 ....
Thanks for another great video! Big love from the west coast of Canada. Looking Forward to all your success this years crabbing and youtube season!
When the crabbing off season is in full swing, the child comes out in all of us. That was great. I loved every minute of that video
"I'm more interested in Danger!!" Ha ha ha ha a ha!!!!! I fricking love this guy!!!! 🤣😂🤣😂😂
This kid is crazy 😂 very innovative and talented but damn he has the kahoneys to do anything he puts his mind to.
Well done!
Lol, you can sure make me laugh dude. Awesome set up.I love the guy in the back working on his boat. He's watching you guys and thinking WTF lmao.
You should have tried a paddle wheel made of ice skate blades....wait, how about hacksaw blades?! The mind boggles at the possibilities!!! Have a great weekend!!
We need a Q&A video. First couple of questions. How did you meet the wife? How do have such a gem of a marina? How did you start fishing?
When I was 12 years old, our neighbor gave me that exact same make skiff. I had incredible days fishing with it in our neighborhood lake outside Athens Georgia. Brought back great memories.
Whatever you name the little boat it should be such a long name that it doesn't fit across the transom
Large middle schooler 😂😂😂
Science!!!! Even when you fail what you set out to achieve, you still end up learning something and ultimately winning!
That sky behind you is gorgeous!!! ❤
You are so much like my son! He does things like this all the time. I love you haven’t lost the kid in you!
"I'm about the size of a large middle schooler ..." Great line! 🤣
Love the big ass channel lock’s referred to as the hammer! 😂🤣😂
You have a great sense of humor!! Every tool is called a hammer!!
Turn it into a jetboat. Seat with a steering wheel upfront. Jetski motor with jetdrive out the back. That thing would fly!
I have not laughed that hard in a long time!! Damn I miss being young and crazy!! Thanks Luke!

The poster child of anti-OSHA.😂😂😂😂
Name it "Toad". Because that's probably the best way to get it from place to place on the water.
10 seconds in, absolutely sketchy and I love it!!
I enjoy this style of content that you make on, building stuff and testing it :D
Shoes for the boat. Skateboards. Ice skates. Skiing.
Use studed tires
YOUR IMAGINATION IS SECOND TO NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HILARIOUS
Use it at the crab stand to sell drinks. Maybe even stand it on it's end and add shelves for merchandise.
The fact that you had accomplice involved in this priceless…
Dud your freaking crazy that's why I watch you. Don't stop
Its not Sketchy if if it works. If you don't at least try you will never know 😊
Incredibly smart and stupid at the same time. I love it. Keep them coming. * side note... my nickname in high school was Big Nut.
Greatest UA-cam video ever… power tools, science minus Physics equals comedy genius 😎 No Band-Aids or LifeFlight… complete success
The little Dipper, seeing how that thing will dip off on ya 😂
Thank you for your contributions to science. The world is a better place because of your very important work.

If there was an OSHA equivalent for life in general, Luke would go bankrupt from all the fines. But I'm sure he'd say worth it, lol.
😂 it’s always fun watching what crazy ideas yall come up with!

Your an innovator, the divinci of the dirty dena
Y’all are crazy as hell but yall have a lot of fun.
You need a wide tooth gear at the end twice as wide as the blade you have on there and if you could modify runners for the bottom it might work
You need to try mounting a big shop fan on the back of it. Make a tiny airboat!
I'm here for all this sketch 😂😂😂
Circularlike saw good great size surface area. The second smaller circularsaw does not appear to work because too small surface area against the frozen water ice cut to slush.
You should find a little tire and wheel to put on that trolling motor and put a couple screws in it for traction👀
Dude thats awesome
But just pushinh with a oar might work just as efficiently
But woth it not being metal u might ckuff it up bad on ice
That is the perfect boat for blue cats.
It's what I call a BATH TUB
🛀
*THE BATH TUB*
EDIT: Paint it lime green like Lindsey's kayak and go kayaking with her
💚😊💚
little boat needs a name. how about the "adora-belle"
While I love watching your imagination in action, I just hope you survive through cold weather until the beginning of fishing and crab season!
A cooler sounds like a great idea for that little boat.
I use Hockey Skates, 4 pairs under my Fish hut and it glides like a dream. (but no more than 2 inches of snow and hard ice) A Skate paddle paddle wheel might work with low rpm. Good luck with you RND
You need a dado blade set on there for more traction!
Use a small tire with studs you can connect it right to the troll motor with some welding would work pretty good I think
Should have tried a piece of pipe on the trolling motor with some pieces of angle welded to it. Provide a larger footprint.
Mount a couple of leaf blowers on the back. It will work like jet engines
'one of the safer things I've seen in a while' :D :D😆
I going to get on board with this, try using a chain from a chain saw, reverse the chain and use a bike sprocket. The guide teeth on the chain saw chain should maybe dig into the ice.🤷If one chain doesn't work try two sprocket bolted together with spacers and a second chain about like a river paddle boat.
Four pounds of c-4, one rifle shot, then POW!!! Now, that's science.
Cold hands. Pockets inside. Rubs cold hands. Lighter. Gasoline. Sticks of wood. Burn. Heater.
It’s always an adventure when you’re doing sketchy shut with a circular saw.
Looks Ike a perfect candidate for a "crabbers wheelbarrow"
“I was born on thin ice” 😂😂😂 ELITE
I thought this was a video of some random guy at first... should've known it was you 😂
Here in Wisconsin we used to use motors just like that, freaking insane
How about a crab cleaning video? Everybody seems to clean them a different way.
Ice is too soft rite now, but that gear idea seemed to work, you should have added ice skates to the bottom
Fourth worker to help lift the thing onto the truck.
Spring is coming, then back to work. Just not fast enough!!!
This kind of ingenuity will get you talent scouted by Space X
You need one of those mud skipper motors. Just a 212 harbor freight motor and a 6’ drive shaft with a propeller on the end 😂
That's a baby bathtub.
This is a lot of bad ideas.. luckily you survived it😂
Dude youre so cool and so smart! Im so impressed with your knowledge! I love all your little adventures. If you ever need an extra hand i wouldnt mind coming from texas to help you. You wouldnt have to pay me. I would go just to learn! Blessings
Next season, use it for the boat back up challenge
Hey dude turn that into a jacuzzi tub for you new bride , I think that might be your best prospect for this tub !😅😂
You should Make/Put One those home-made Jet intake Engines on the Lil Weebs, Make it like a HOVER craft that would go in inches of water!
Way back in the 60's we had a summer place at the lake one of the neighbor kids had a similar boat about that size with a 18 hp Evinrude , we called it a flipper boat and it would fly down the lake.
U should build it into a replica of the southern girl!😂
I cant believe your iced up over there , I am across the bay in Cambridge and we dont have any ice
I thinking a leaf blower powered jet boat! Once the ice has melted.
try a sprocket on the trolling motor or a wheel with studs on it. pretty interesting though
Needs Lindsey reviews Luke's videos video. That would be entertaining.
