  • Listen up-you may not grow $400 worth of tomatoes this year but you will EASILY grow $400 worth of herbs-even in a small container.
ONE herb plant can grow 1-2 pounds of fresh herbs in a season. At the grocery, you will pay $2.50 for .5 oz of organic fresh herbs.
So when you harvest 2 pounds of fresh herbs-thats about 64 packages, which is about $150 worth of herbs.
Plant 3-5 herbs and that’s about $450+ in value.
    Not exaggerating.

I don’t think people understand the upcharge in a grocery store. If you buy an ounce of fresh cut herbs in those lil plastic pouches it’s about 4-5 bucks. So crazy.

And you can use the herbs for medicinal use! You can dry the herbs and store them for use as well which means you’ll end up with way more than you need and therefore could earn a small profit by selling what you don’t need or you could help out your community buy passing it on….a fantastic way to get back to the old days when you could ask a neighbour to swap you an egg for some herbs ect

Very impressive. Is that a custom steel tub? I’d like a large raised garden but unsure what options are available in that scale.

Not if you go to a place like Produce junction. That's about $10 you have in oregano.

Amazing how many folks call others liars. If you don’t understand how someone can grow lots of plants or veg or whatever, fine, but keep the cries of “liar” to yourself.

I don't see such accusations, they may have been removed? However, her "pitch" is a "little off the plate." She could have mentioned, "I grew 1kg of oregano for the cost of..." What she implied was she grew $400 worth of oregano... if we were to buy it at the store. What she had was 1kg of herbs that may go to waste. But that is how things are, there are great sacrifices for what little we actually consume.

Don't. She was already caught lying about stuff. She can't be trusted when she claims what she says is supported by science and science says otherwise

Your school system ever teach you horticulture and how to begin the germination process for a seed?
