I always tell my students that they should film their training sessions. When we do this, it helps us identify mistakes that we didn't notice during the training. While reviewing this video, I noticed there were multiple occasions when my puppy wasn't sitting all the way down before I rewarded him. With this knowledge, I'll be able to fix this issue. Remember, champions study game footage!

Can’t believe that we are able to learn this for free. You’re such a good human being. Thank you so much.

Wow, Nate!!! This is one of my favorite videos yet. Guess who is going to be using this regimen as a warm up in Rusty's sessions. Great tune up for older dogs as well as essential introduction to movements for young pups.
For anyone new to training watching this tape, do NOT feel intimidated by the speed of the movements. What I do is, I will watch the video several times, write down the sequence of the program, practice that either without the dog initially and/or then go through it in slow motion (relative to handler and dog). THEN I will pick up speed.
There is so much valuable information in this short video suitable not just for the beginning training of a pup but any dog you have who you want to develop better response, increase their motivation, and/or increase the strength of your bond.
Rusty enjoys his current flow sessions but this video reminded me of the many exercises you have taught I have let slip through the cracks. Bringing them back in will increase accuracy, speed and motivation.
    Thanks, again, Nate!

Thanks, Sylvia! It's always a pleasure to receive such detailed feedback from you, and your advice for new trainers is spot on. You’re right about the speed of the movements; they can seem intimidating at first. But, as you've beautifully demonstrated, taking it step by step and gradually increasing the speed allows us to fully tap into the potential of the dog we’re training. Your method of watching the video multiple times, jotting down the sequence, and then practicing at a pace that's comfortable for both handler and dog before picking up speed is invaluable. Thank you again and I'm looking forward to our training session tomorrow. :)

Nate the dog thesaurus is back!!! 👍👍
This fella has helped change my training game Ten fold. All my dogs are now off leash and getting the exercise they need.
This channel and Miracle K9 are the only ones you need to fully train your dog yourself.
Watch nates 'everything you need to know' video a few times and Crack on!

Good day young man. You make it look easy but your skills and knowledge is second to none. I love seeing the progress of a green pup. The evolution from first day of training to now is amazing. Please keep showing this pup love your videos. Informative, inspirational and gives us confidence with your step-by-step methodology.

I’ve subscribed and will be using your system for our new gsd pup coming before Thanksgiving. Watching these vids multiple times to get it down!! Thank you!
Question: are you luring with the dog’s regular food or treat? If the former, any quick recommendations? Raw, home cooked, kibble? Thanks again, Nate!

  • @yordankahristova972
    @yordankahristova972 5 місяців тому +1

I would like to understand since we let them work for every bite and we should keep short training sessions does that mean that we don’t feed/train on specific times throughout the day? The vet says feed three times a day but after a five minutes of training i still have kibble in my pouch and my dog already has lost interest. Should I give her the remaining in her bowl??

    • @NateSchoemer

I start as soon as the puppy is comfortable in their new environment. I started Maverick (dog in this video) at 8.5 weeks of age. 😄

Going back to the first lesson, what about a dog that is not food or toy driven? I tried to start our now eight-year-old GSD when he was 10 weeks old and I tried every treat and any other food item i could think of, and to this day this dog still does not want treats or even dog food. He eats just enough to survive. About the only thing he got excited about was swimming, which doesn’t work well for training lol.
