John, thank you so much for your courage. Thank you for sharing your journey and allowing us to take it with you. I have stage 4 emphysema. I'm 56 years old. I wish I had the courage to fight back as hard as you do. I admire you greatly, you're an inspiration. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Good air and peace to you, always.
Thank you so much for your very kind words, Mec. Sincerely appreciated. It has been my privilege to share my journey with people such as you: my extended UA-cam family, my kindred spirits; and it isn't over yet - not by a long shot. It isn't an easy journey but then it could be far worse, or at least that's what I keep telling myself; and so should you. Yes, we have our crosses to bear, some heavier crosses than others of our ilk; but I remain thankful that I can still see and hear, talk and walk, think and look after myself, and so much more that so many can no longer do - those whose very life's are dependent on others. Maybe that is what the future holds for us, but who can tell; certainly not I; so I simply chose to live my life one day at a time, and damn the legations. Best wishes, my friend; bye for now, and adieu. 🙂👍👌🖖
I didn't know there were stages, I've got bronchiectasis and bulmae lung and the emphysema, 32%. 44 yrs old. I asked how long (reply) let's look at helping the best we can. (You don't know!)
Folks, Honestly, with all the hundreds of ways the human being can be killed, it's amazing we live past 1 or 2 years old! Just live. As for you Mr. John Hampton, God Bless You Sir, you are awesome! Thanks for the video! :)
Im in the emphysema boat, didnt even want to know what stage Im in. so I understand that. I am trying to just be greatful for everyday God gives me. That was a great video John. You are very open and honest with every word that you spoke. You are very encouraging to someone like myself. God Bless you and Thank you for being so true about it.
I agree with you the docs can't tell you it ALL depends how quickly or slowly your lungs get and how bad they get I've had copd since 1999 and yes I'm at stage 4 now but I'm still going and intend to keep going for a while yet like you I have not or would not ask the doc how long I have left one I wouldn't want to know and two like we said they can't tell you take care
We all so proud of you John ..you are such inspiration to us all ..keep your hobbies and interests going .. your garden is so beautiful .. bout time we took a shopping trip aswell 💕
Thank you so much, Trudy. Very much appreciate your very kind words. 🤗 Hobbies and interests: 👍 Gardens: 👍👌Well, we plan to go shopping tomorrow, as a matter of fact; so I'll record what I can. 🙂👍👌💕
John - all the best to you from a fellow sufferer (COPD) here in Spain. Thanks for the video - I totally agree with what you say. I keep busy with the garden and many other interests and I don't know how I would manage without them. Good luck!
Hi, Carl. Thank you. All the best to you too. You are welcome. Yes, it's better to keep busy with interests rather than sit around watching the world pass you by and waiting to die; no excuses. Sure, it's hard at times, and breathless episodes will throw a spanner in the works at times; but a little break and a session on the nebuliser will usually put us right and off we go again. Good luck to you too, best wishes, and hasta la vista. 🙂👍👌
John - Yes, there are days when energy levels are just too low and I have to abandon a plan or two but usually I manage to use up all my energy doing things I like to do and that keeps me feeling positive. Thanks again and a g'day to you!
My Grandma had it for around 20 years before passing from heart failure due to it. If you quit smoking and do what you need to do , then you can live awhile with it.
My mother had emphysema but died from heart failure as well. True. If one does as you say plus a little exercise, good nutrition, keep the mind busy and remain positive in the face of our adversity, then, yes, we can live longer. 🙂👍
it's six months (for everything). if you can't pay your bill, they will give you another six months. Just found your channel, subscribed. Thanks for sharing this experience.
Thank you, Martin. Absolutely; there is no answer as to when we sufferers will kick the bucket. And if there was one (answer) I wouldn't want to hear it. Let sleeping dogs lay, so to speak. Cheers. 🙂👍🖖
I also have copd and I don’t even think about how long I have left , I used to be a miner and I was amazed just how many strong fit and healthy men went down hill when the mines closed, ..
I actually tell Doctors that I don't want to hear dates. I'll do everything I can to beat them. I don't believe in it. As a nurse, I used to care for terminal patients back in the 80s. I saw people who doctors gave a few months live for several years and patients who just gave up and died much sooner than they should have. When it was their time, most of them gave some indication but, the ones who beat the dates were the ones who didn't live by them.
I have emphysema also but i think if you stop smoking and take your treatments on a regular basis you can keep it at bay for a long time . I dont want to know any time i have because i plan on living long but always taking care of my emphysema and heath over all . . You give yourself more time taking care of yourself and enjoy life. I wish you all the best my friend and god bless you . Stay safe ...marie
I have it at age 23 I heard from hospital 12_18,months without treatment, months ago mentally I've prepared for it just going to miss my family when I've gone, scared to leave them
Hey my friend , very good video. The dr. told my husband he wouldn't live 2 yrs.. He had stage 4 cancer and he died 5 yrs. later. You can't sit around and wait to die. Have a good breathing day. Glinda~

Hello friend. We all have a God-shaped void, that we try to fill with counterfeits that only Jesus Christ can fill.. he wants a relationship and fellowship with us. Only once we realize we're lost can we be saved by trusting and the life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
