First! Yeah buddy! I wish you'd do more Rush. They are UNMATCHED in music ability and they have 40+ years of music. Plus, they are great, humble dudes! Great reaction!
Sadly, the Drummer Neil Peart has passed away within the last year from brain cancer. You were listening to the original version from the 80's. If you want to see his level of expertise, watch the video of his solo from 2015 in Germany. It runs for nearly 15 minutes of pure perfection and at a skill that will not be matched anytime soon. As always, stay happy healthy and safe. Enjoy.
I would argue Daney Carey, but you cant argue the influence Niel had on him. So im goin with you man. Its like comparing Michael to kobe or lebron. Neither would be there without Michael.
A modern-day warrior Mean, mean stride Today's Tom Sawyer Mean, mean pride Though his mind is not for rent Don't put him down as arrogant His reserve, a quiet defense Riding out the day's events The river What you say about his company Is what you say about society Catch the mist Catch the myth Catch the mystery Catch the drift The world is, the world is Love and life are deep Maybe as his skies are wide Today's Tom Sawyer, he gets high on you And the space he invades, he gets by on you No, his mind is not for rent To any god or government Always hopeful, yet discontent He knows changes aren't permanent But change is And what you say about his company Is what you say about society Catch the witness Catch the wit Catch the spirit Catch the spit The world is, the world is Love and life are deep Maybe as his eyes are wide Exit the warrior Today's Tom Sawyer He gets high on you And the energy you trade He gets right on to The friction of the day...
The drummer Neil Peart just died recently sadly :( he was also their lyricist! Great reaction, was super fun watching you remember this song. I'm Canadian (Rush is a Canadian band) and I grew up near where they are from.....they are legendary around here. If you wanna check out another cool music vid by them I would recommend Limelight! Shout out to you!
If you haven't seen it yet, check out Beyond the Lighted Stage. It's an autobiographical documentary on the life and long career of Rush up to their next to last album. All of the outtakes are worth watching, too!
Hello. In Brazil this song was used as the opening theme for the series "MacGyver" in the 1980s ... more sugertion? "Xanadu", "Red Barchetta" and "Freewill", all live from "Exit: Stage Left"!
This album among some other great albums in beginning 80's were recorded @ Le Studio in Morin-Heights up North of Montreal. 30 minutes drive away from where I live, look at this link en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Studio
Geddy’s, Neal’s and Alex’s musicianship clearly demonstrated that they are and were elite master level technicians. They didn’t set the bar. They were and are the bar.
6:02 He said "wide" not "ride" like you were saying lmao. "eyes are wide" it kinda sounds like he's saying "skies are wide" because he singing quick but it's "wide"
RUSH. Neal Peart DRUMMER passed away January 2020 brain cancer RIP. Geddy Lee bassist, keyboard, Taurus pedals. Alex Lifeson Guitars. Album moving pictures 1980. We are same age. I'll be 54 in November.
I know this is an old upload so im crossing fingers you read this but being a producer yourself and a bit of an old soul like myself, you should look into the history of the studio this video is in. Its the actual studio. Not just a set made to look like a studio. Its famous in and of itsself. Music produced there have sold about 300 million copies around the world. Its called "Le Studio" in Quebec Canada. Opened in 1974. Its in a remote mountain area. Watch the group April Wine "I like to Rock" music video shot in the same room. to see very similar views in the studio. Some of the clips you are seeing in this vid are actual live takes you are also hearing. Its not just a studio looking set. Fascinating history came out of that place. Ive seen pictures of 1 of those old massive analog soundboards in that studio. The type where only a handful were ever made of their size and complexity. The list of albums and groups that recorded there is huge and spans many genre's. I read somewhere that they were 1 of the 1st studios that was open to any genre. Its 1 of those studios that should be a historic landmark. Unfortunately it ended up vacant and was burned down by arson in 2017. The "I Like to Rock" video by April Wine shows some of the exterior and grounds. Look into it. The studio itsself is a legend along with many of the groups that recorded there. I hope you look into it my friend. Thanks for what you do. Keep it up.
Uncle Mike, can you react a song Loosing It by Rush for me ?. I believe a lot of peoples impressed to Ben Mink, an additional electric violin player in this song.
Question: 🤔 "What do Drum Machines want to be when they grow up?" Answer: 🥁 Neil Peart aka The Professor 😔 RIP 🥺 No 50th Anniversary Tour 🐰 #ENRGYZRBunny
And back then you didn't know you were trying to emulate what would be the best drummer to ever play. RIP Neal Pert

I would argue Daney Carey, but you cant argue the influence Niel had on him. So im goin with you man. Its like comparing Michael to kobe or lebron. Neither would be there without Michael.

Filmed during their recording session at Le Studio near Montreal.
RUSH-FREEWILL
Obligatory.
Yup, that's "The Professor", Neil Peart....Tom Sawer was off of the Moving Pictures album back in '81 😉
Loved watching your reaction to this. I couldn't stop smiling, you look like a toddler on Christmas morning getting all excited. Great reaction!
Sawyer - Official Video
Most under-appreciated band of all time, in terms of mainstream media recognition
It's hard watching this video at the end now, when the camera zooms in on an empty drum kit.
Love Rush, great reaction :) your awesome Mike.
A modern-day warrior
Mean, mean stride
Today's Tom Sawyer
Mean, mean pride
Though his mind is not for rent
Don't put him down as arrogant
His reserve, a quiet defense
Riding out the day's events
The river
What you say about his company
Is what you say about society
Catch the mist
Catch the myth
Catch the mystery
Catch the drift
The world is, the world is
Love and life are deep
Maybe as his skies are wide
Today's Tom Sawyer, he gets high on you
And the space he invades, he gets by on you
No, his mind is not for rent
To any god or government
Always hopeful, yet discontent
He knows changes aren't permanent
But change is
And what you say about his company
Is what you say about society
Catch the witness
Catch the wit
Catch the spirit
Catch the spit
The world is, the world is
Love and life are deep
Maybe as his eyes are wide
Exit the warrior
Today's Tom Sawyer
He gets high on you
And the energy you trade
He gets right on to
The friction of the day...

Rush being cut off by a Disney commercial.......this world needs to wake up soon or we will be living an a woke utopia before we know it.
Down vote for grunting during the song.
Somewhat entertaining,
...but needs work. A lot of work.
Sorry.
Incredible musicians but Geddy Lee's voice sounds like a house cat getting sodomized against its will.
