People thinking they're going to make more than $12/13 per hour after the "free" spot is laughable. I've been work camping for a while now and this is the average pay for this industry. You'll find higher pay but it's in regions that are much higher in cost of living, groceries, gas, entertainment, ECT.
I have a friend who has stayed at Madison Arm several times and loves it there. In fact, he is on his way to Pole Bridge Montana right now and is stopping there so he and his wife can visit Yellowstone on his way home to Ohio. I told him to say hello to you and shared your UA-cam channel with him.
I've had to binge watch, catch up. Good to see y'all found a great summer gig. Good to see Sweetie and the pup. You guys are so great for keeping/loving her. Take care
Looks like an awesome place to work, excellent information provided. I see that the position has been filled, what about next year 2025? Any available positions?
They will definitely have available positions next year, but honestly I wouldn't recommend working there. The pay is very very low and the company is really disorganized. We thought the experience would be worth it there but unfortunately it wasn't.
Work there for 3 seasons. Great place to work and fish. He is right about the owner. She is the sweetest person you will ever meet and super nice to work for. So fortunate to have known her and her family. Wish her the best.
just out of curiosity, how did she come into the ownership of this campground? And what does this campground make per year vs expenses, i.e, $13 per hour workers? I would love to see the income statement on this business to see if $13/hr is a "fair" wage...
Hey David i have not falowed you guys in a bit but so glad to see you and rog are at this camp helping out i have all ways wanted to do this ,,,, this is a sweet deal .. for get the other people . that quit. just watch your back and the lady .. i would love to do this .. realy happy to see you helping out there hope you guys stay on keep us up to date on how its going ..looks like a beautful place
Thank you, David, for the great information. I wish we could zip up to the Madison Arm Resort, and join y’all. Such a beautiful place! I miss Roe. Best wishes to you both!
One working couple left on negative terms. This has the makings of an Elin Hildebrand novel! 😅 That is, if the setting is changed from Montana to Nantucket. Or a Mary Kay Andrews novel, with the setting down in the South. But seriously, this sounds like a dream opportunity for the active married couple with a positive, go-getter attitude. 😊
We just applied!!🤞🤞 You guys were a big inspiration to us when we first decided to start the full time rv lifestyle. It would be a pleasure to work alongside you this summer!
Love it!!! I haven't seen Sweetie's good-bye in soooo long! Brought a smile to my face. I would love to come out there and workcamp - looks like a great place. Just not in the cards.
Our daughter lives and works in West Yellowstone at one of those inns you referred to. This is her 4th year. She doesn’t drive, so she needs to be in town. This video is very accurate. Only thing I would add is that her boss drives those who want to go to Rexburg once a month for cheaper provisions.
Thank you for sharing, I’m a self employed handyman and retired general contractor. I enjoy doing most tasks. We’re not quite ready to start, we’re looking into work camp, camp host opportunities in the coming future. Maybe next year. I’d like to keep in touch. Thank you
My serotonin levels soar when I see you petting Sweetie. More, please. I would love to know what skin cream your boss is using! I’ll bet she’s fun to work for! You look like you’re in a great place - enjoy!
I was able to find some organics in West Yellowstone but the trip into the city is necessary once in a while. Bozeman now has a Whole Foods too as well as a great natural foods co-op (support local employee owned) and of course the mega warehouse grocery stores. I just returned from a 2 week trip to the area and think that next summer I will look for some kind of work camp job, maybe in the Yellowstone area. I'm currently doing a work camp job in Minnesota that gives free camping or even lodging or apartments and pays up to $21/hr, the catch is that it's an industrial job doing warehouse fullfillment (not bad but inside all day or night).
The verizon cell service is decent 4G and the T-mobile is excellent 5G. The fishing is amazing and most people have no trouble landing multiple rainbow and brown trout.
I really want to, and my husband would be interested too. We are 49 and 63. I can do light campground maintenance and housekeeping and I could do front desk, but I am handicapped. It affects my facial muscles (it's pretty much the same as someone that's had a stroke). My speech is affected but people usually understand what I'm saying. Do you know if that would be a problem?
Yes. I work as a camp host and the hardest part is dealing with the public. The second hardest part is dealing with co-work campers that play the camp Sheriff.
I love that camping spot, but I'm not able to work camp there this year. How is the cell service there for a remote worker with Verizon? The campsite and surrounding area look fantastic; I could easily stay there for a month or two.
For those of us who are new to work camping I could use some advice about how the taxes are because I just saw in a comment the other day that some employers include the campsite as part of the pay so tax wise how does that work and who should I get my taxes done by that understands diversity works
Very interested in such an amazing opportunity ❤ it’s just me and my rottie but I have a full time remote job m-f 7:30-430 est. would there be a part time position for evenings & weekends?
Your pay is $13/hour. Are federal and state taxes taken from your gross pay? Do you recieve a check, or bank auto deposit? Do you have a time clock/punch card, log onto a computer? At the end of year earning report, are the days you stayed at the campsite reported as pay/income? I have seen this previously as apartment on site manager. Recieved an hourly rate, taxes taken, and "free" on site apartment provided. And end of the 1040 pay report the base apartment rental rate was added as monthly income. Therefore, needed to pay unexpected income taxes.
We actually just hired a couple a few days ago, I updated the video to reflect that the positions are filled. Thank you for applying though and I hope you find an awesome workamping job!
Some people here committing need to realize the pay is probably equal to a 7 day week long stay at a number of nearby Campgrounds. Bonus, free full hookups. Some camping host jobs don't pay a salary just free stay with hookups. Here you got water side Campground in a great area taboot.
I'm a single retirey experienced in camp hosting. I'm looking for a winter park to work in this season. I'm available after October 31st. Hit me up if that fits your needs.
What is the work schedule? How many hours per day, and are those a constant schedule? Days off same for both people as the couple? Both paid hourly rate and each must work 40 hours or is that 20 hrs each person in a couple? We are FT in our 32 ft Tt in Henrys Lake CG in ID only about 25 min south of you right now. It could work out!
A big negative I've heard is that if you are a couple work camping, they want you to work different or overlapping schedules. So instead of having two or three days off to go exploring, as a couple, you are working every day. I didn't watch the complete video, maybe you addressed that. You say that your wife is off shopping on her own, so I'm thinking you are on duty and she is using her off time.
Thankfully we have Mondays and Tuesdays off together. It'd be crazy to not have the couples off on the same days when there's multiple couples working here.

I want to hear the drama about why the other couple left.
Same.
Probably because they don't pay enough $13 is peanuts
@@loretta2566 13 plus a free spot isn't bad for a single person with nothing better to do.

Grew up here!! Such a beautiful place.
I’m near retirement, I’m not interested in WORK camping, I’m interested in GETTING PAID camping
Thanks again!
My father camped there for two summers in the late 90's. It appears to be larger now. I remember as it being really nice. Great fishing.
Lot of great information. Thanks for sharing. Awwww Sweetie still has it! She still says BYE. lol That was so cute. Tell Roe hi for me!
Thanks Tammy! And yeah it's pretty hilarious how Sweetie has learned that "bye" basically means "speak" to her haha
@FateUnbound You are welcome. Yes, it is. She is so cute and smart. Give her hugs for me. 😁
Done! She loved them 😁
@@FateUnbound Awwww...Thanks so much!
Enjoyed this video. Hope you found good co-workers!
We did! They're excellent people and hard workers. We're all really glad they decided to work here.

Will a 35 foot 5th wheel fit there in the workcamping spot?
I believe so, that'd definitely towards the larger size but I think it could squeeze in there.
Great video and information.
My dream job! So Stuck in Vegas
We are getting close to becoming full time work campers. Is this campground big rig friendly. We are handy and carry tools.
What about solo?
Good luck. It's hard to find these kinds of jobs for single people. Most of them want couples.
What does MOAB represent?
Moab? The city right outside Arches National park.
It’s just so nice to see Sweetie doing well lol😂
Shigeko-san must be the nicest person I could tell from her name 😂 しげこさんのキャンプ場に是非とも一度は行ってみたいです!
How is the fishing? trout?
Yep, trout mostly in this lake. And the fishing is excellent, people have no trouble catching fish here
I can vouch for the fishing. Very good.
Hey David!! I have wanted to do this but I have a dog, do they allow that? I just started watching...
I saw your dog Sweetie at the end!!! ❤ [I might have spelled her name wrong]
Haha yep Sweetie, Juniper, and all our other pets are here with us. Dogs are no problem as long as they are well behaved and don't bark constantly.

I’m up by Glacier heading that way in a few days. Do they require couples?

13 dollars per hr. Is DISGRACEFUL 👎👎
