Great job guys! Big job. The cat was supervising your work Aaron. Lol I guarantee you guys built a better boat floor than they did from the factory. You can now enjoy it and feel confident in the structural integrity of your boat.
FishbumpTV has been around for years. Joe has stepped up his game and his videos are high quality. A little lengthy and repetitious. His work is what you would expect from a professional. He does break down projects into episodes so that he can show the process and steps in their entirety. While it is important to have enough fiberglass resin on hand, keep in mind that Vinyl Ester Resin has a shelf life of about 3 months so do not go overboard thinking you may be able to use the extra on a project that may come down the road much later on.
I love watching your channel and how well you both work together! There’s a channel called “Born again Boating”. You may have heard of it. It takes older boats and restores them to today’s standards! Your love for each other shows in every episode and the respect for each other is amazing! Blessings to you both and your families!!
Please be carefule. Some of those chemicals are quite toxic. Im sure your aware of that. Your my favorite on youtube. Love your vids. Im almost 80 and your escapades remind me of better times. Keep up the great work
The stitched biaxial cloth (1708) can be easily wetted out by applying a generous amount of resin to the back side and then apply correct side out to the area. The resin will naturally want to flow upward to the surface of the cloth. You won't have to roll it much and the wet-out will be pretty much perfect.
I enjoy watching you two and work together so well. When your done it will be built better than most other remaining Bayliner's. I like the beef barbeque too. Bayliner went to foam stringers I believe before they stopped making the larger boats. The biggest Bayliner makes now is a 22" and I think all of what they offer now are made in Mexico.
For me when I use mat fiberglass to get it into corners and to wrap around something I peel the layers and separate it makes it form around stuff a little easier not saying it’s the right way or only way it’s just how I have had good luck with it
My trick when getting fiberglass to wrap tightly around a corner is to cover the wetted glass with thin plastic sheeting (like 0.7 mil drop cloth) and pull the plastic tight around the corner . . . but don't tell anybody 🤣
MEKP is no joke. One splash is your eyes and it’s big trouble. I hate safety glasses like the next person but, I don’t mess around with that stuff. Glasses on before the lid comes off

Easier to restore the old and lot more satisfaction. Anyone can go buy new.....and have nothing. But restoring old with friends and family, memories forever!
38:46 nothing says back yard mechanic like repurposed car parts packaging for garage “dinner”. Or the opposite…using pizza boxes for an automotive or painting application 💕 🔧
Thanks for the videos on the boat restoration and for the discount code to Fiberglass Warehouse. Is there a time limit to use the discount? I may not be buying glassing supplies until about a year from now.
Boats are expensive to own and operate. It's much easier to take if you convert dollars into marine units. On a single engine boat, 1 marine unit is $1000.00. For a twin engine boat, 1 marine unit is $2000.00. Now it's way easier 😅
I think when you’re done it’s going to be better than Bayliner built it due to better materials and taking more time to do it right. Good ‘glass work is very time consuming and labor intensive. One thing though… The masks you’re using might not be the best for protection. When cutting and sanding ‘glass you should wear a 3M full face shield with P-100 particle filters. For working with resin same face shield and fume respirator cartridges with P95 filters added. Gloves should be chemical resistant when working with resin. Full face shield also is great eye protection. Fiberglass dust is VERY BAD for your lungs but like asbestos the bad effects don’t show up for decades. Epoxy resin can provoke a very strong allergic reaction if you’re overexposed to it. That can stay with you over time….good luck with the project I’m sure it will be better than new!
OMG counting all those drops, that's insane. why didn't you just do 20 drops in clear cup, mark it with a sharpee or tape and go from there. 80 drops, 4 containers - 200 drops, 10 containers. remember smarter not harder.

It’s lighter than the BBC! The coosa is also substantially lighter than the previous plywood that the transom and stringers were constructed with- that was BEFORE it was soaked with water and rotted 🫣🥹😂

When mixing the stuff to join pieces together also add some chopped fiberglass fibers as well as the silica. Makes the joint twice as strong.
Good job guy's happy boating.
You guys ROCK!!!
Vinyl Ester resin is really good to work with, except for the fumes. 🤪 It has good adhesion strength and you should see longer working time.
