The way PK ended with Habs is sad, I used to love this player but the 2 last years were not great. PK was sticking on his game instead of going with the game plan from the coach, relation was bad and the captain Max Pacioretty was acting with no leadership, it was for sure a future fail for the team. Instead of adapting his game to the situation PK decided to stick to the way he use to play all the time and it was the end for sure because by doing this you become a selfish player and teammates hate that, then all the game suffer. I am not telling PK was fully responsible of this, this guy was ahead of new style and rest of the team was not ready for that. Whatever PK did outside of the game was simply great and I have a big admiration for that despite the fact I use to disagree with his behavior on the ice for at leas the last year with Habs.

Im not much of a hockey fan and Im from Ottawa, but you can see the impact hes had on and off the ice. Hes inspired a ton of kids not only to pursue hockey as a dream, but hes done a lot to impact both children and adults to keep their dreams of whatever they pursue alive. Hes also done a lot for racism in Canada and Quebec. Its not a topic often talked about, but something about your favourite Hockey teams best player being a person of colour makes people impact how they see and interact with the rest of us people of colour. His impact will be felt for years and years in ways hell have never even realized. I think I speak for Montreal, Quebec and all of Canada when we say thank you. An amazing hockey player, but an even better human being.
Quebec had people of color who became superstars since at least the 40s-50s lol One good exemple was Jackie Robinson before he went for the LA Dodgers and became the 2nd black man to play in MLB. Willie O'Ree who played in Québec city in the 50s and end up the first black man to play in the NHL with the Boston Bruins.
Also, let's not forget about Herbert Carnegie who technically should've have been the first Black man to play in the NHL since he was invited by the New York Rangers in 1948. (10 years before Willie O'ree) but decline the offer since he was earning more money playing in Québec plus he was not victims of racisms. Just because of that he spend his whole career playing in Québec League.
@@VinceLocRS PK Subban might not have the same impact on today's youth as those heroes, but he will still have positively impacted a generation of young fans. It's important to keep that tradition going.
@@sadassadas8946 Oh for sure, Subban will be remember for a longtime in Montréal. But when we talk about longterm influence... I doubt cuz the new generation tend to not dig into their local history. For exemple, all the people I named...Their local legacy have been lost by the new generation for a long time. As a society, Québec young generation should dig into it... In a time where the skin Color was a major issue accross North America... Here in Québec it was just a skin pigment and were seen equal to us french-Canadians... This is someting to be celebrating... But people tend to forget and instead of digging into the history of where they live, people will generalizes their story with others story and forget each community have his own story and it deserves to be known by the new generation.
@@VinceLocRS I have a bit of a different outlook on racism in Quebec. Its not exactly been "Just a skin pigment". Quebec has bans on headscarfs for public servents which was passed and still remains a law since 2019. Quebec has a REALLY long way to go. You referenced Jackie Robinson......and glossed over the fact that he was sent to Montreal to play specifically to see if he could handle the racism that was dished out on a bigger stage..... I think youre mistaking these leaps by people of colour joining and playing in Montreal as because they played there, everything is okay.....it wasnt and still isnt. We as a country have taken a lot of steps forward since then for sure, but its far from perfect still..... I dont mean to turn any of this political, nor take this post away from the spotlight of PK, but I think its extremely important to understand, Quebec has a lot of work to do. Racism is just a differentiation between skin pigments. There will be a influx of all kids growing up who will pursue hockey as a sport because of PK. And those kids might go on to inspire others until its not a surprise to see a brown, asian, hispanic or any other race, playing at a high level in the NHL. You dont always have to remember the spark when the light generated from that spark continues to shine and light up brighter and brighter. Its nice to remember the sparks, but its also important to learn and keep growing. Just in 2014 Boston fans took to twitter and the N-word was trending in the Boston area after PK scored a goal. Even Montreal fans have resorted to racism regarding their own player when he didnt perform.....Theres a lot of work to do. Thankfully PK was extremely impactful and hopefully helps spark future growth and change in Quebec, Montreal and Canada. Again, apologies for taking away from the post and though I do agree with your underlying statement of remembering the heros of the past, its also important to stay grounded in the reality of the current world we live in. Its not all sunshines and rainbows. I think youre painting a bit of a happier picture than reality would suggest with all due respect. It wasn't perfect in the past, it wasnt when PK was playing and it isnt now.
Seeing Carey and P.K triple low made me think of this quote "I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you actually left them." Thanks for the feels gentleman, thanks P.K.
Michele Therrien cut his wings and nearly stifled his career. PK’s brand ruffled the rest of the non-charismatic feathers of the Habs organization he loved so much. At least he was traded for the most dominant D-man at the time. But hey, he’s being honored for a reason. Fans know what’s up. Class act by the CH
I spent my share of time in the hospital as a kid (not complaining, these kids he's helping have it much harder than I did and I'm sure they're dealing with it with exemplary courage.) I remember that one time we received a signed cardboard cutout of Patrick Roy and I still remember how awesome we all thought it was and how much it cheered us up. I don't know if people realize how much good athletes and public figures can do for kids like that. Merci infiniment PK!

Je l'aime beaucoup pour les enfants. Quel homme.il vaut toute le club a lui seul. Bravo
Love PK just wish he was still playing! Respect!
Retired too soon.
@@kreed82 agreed
It brought tears to my eyes

Seeing Carey and P.K triple low made me think of this quote "I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you actually left them." Thanks for the feels gentleman, thanks P.K.

Markov needs a ceremony too! Imagine him and Subban together!
Bro this made me cry fr
Super classy, and well spoken. Gotta love what PK
So awesome to see ok and Cary together
Class by the Molson family and class by PK Subban in his humble speech!
PK is a great humanitarian. He was also a very good hockey player!
P.K. is a good man we need more people like him in this world.
Seeing Price come out to do the handshake was awesome
I remember PK in the playoffs in his first games 😀😀😀😀. Thank you PK for the thrills. What a style!!! Love the coat.
❤❤❤❤❤PK will always be in my heart love him 💜 ❤
God I loved seeing Subban play in Montreal
NHL has, and will always do the best tributes of the 4 major NA sports.
Love You P.K always have always will !!! Great human being period Glad to see You in Montreal again Brother!!!!!@
Thank you M. Subban for everything you do for the childrens !
Hadn't cry like this since the cup run.
Hero! Long live PK
man that moment between price and subban at the end was priceless
See what you did there
technically, it was not priceless.
@@raider61x exactly what i was saying. Technically it was pricefull
Always liked PK subban as a player for who he is as a person too. Thank you for all the years you've played and happy retirement 🏒❤
I Love that Guy! Keep on keeping on P.K! Montreal (my favourite team of all time) very class act to honour him that way!
Brings Back Memories. Price + Subban Good times in Montreal.
End of an Era....with Price aahhh lala...THANK YOU Guys for ELECTRIFYING my teenage years I'll never forget !!!
He is a man who gave his word to support the hospital and even when he left he continued to support the hoapital. His incredible and great sporting accomplishments will always be second to what he contributed to the Hospital..He gave his word and kept his word!
Brother was looking sharp!!! congratulations PK keep on helping those kids 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I remember 13 y/o me crying when he was traded (Webs became one of my favs too) Thanks PK!
Cheers to P.K.! He was a good player on the ice but was and is a great man off it. Glad the Habs fans gave him a nice reception....but I really didn't expect anything less. 🍻👏
Absolutely love this guy! Looking so handsome!
Since PK left the Habs, it was that time I barely watch the Habs. Lately, I start to watch but I always end up closing the TV after 10 mins.
PK Respect!!
Exactly! i could watch the habs even when we were losing because Subban would never give up, the passion was always there. Still mad about that exchange, what a shame
@PeachRap it was amazing to watch him play. The fact that he help the children hospital that made us love him even more!
Reminds me of the good old days :')
A great news story, loyalty walking on two feet..so unique these days
Much respect to Montreal from a life Leaf fan.
Legit almost had me in tears when they did the triple low 5 five one last time.
The triple low 5 hit hard :( I'll miss those guys
Miss you P.K. you were & are amazing!!
Absolute 🐐farewell pk hope you live an amazing life
still my favorite player
This is just pure wholesomeness 😂❤
PK is the kind of player everyone appreciates no matter which team you cheer for.
Kind of player they are only appreciating now it's too late.
he could give anonymously without seeking praise like others did instead he seeks praise for exaggerated salary anyway most overrated on ice ever
Love love love from Stockholm,Sweden!!♥️🇸🇪
Go PK!
Go Habs Go!!👊🏼👊🏼
Un vrai gentleman PK. Merci d'honorer Montréal jusqu'à la toute fin, on va s'en souvenir !

We always love you PK ❤️
la fin d'une epoque...merci Subban pour rendre les enfants heureux malgre que tu etais parti a nashville.
PK was always a favorite of mine. While his heart belonged in Montreal, I am thankful y’all loaned him to New Jersey for a bit. It was cool to see him play. What a great guy!
