I think Ren garners such respect from other muscians not simply because he is extremely talented, but because he is truly independant and is free to explore his creativity and talent. Record companies stifle true talent these days becaue they want more of them same that sells. They get scared if an artist wants to stray from the formula that made them a success. In many ways Ren losing the Sony deal was a blessing in disguise.
Great reaction, If you haven't seen the interview Ren did with "The Charismatic Voice" Watch it from 46.50 into to the vid, Ren goes into detail regarding production. He spends hours on one track editing, because of is ADHD, he loves doing it. Ren says his biggest off hand compliment, was a producer refused to believe the the Busking vids were live. The whole vid is a great insight. 😊
Dude, as you were speaking about fostering a positive attitude I thought of a Ren video to recommend. If you haven't already, check out Ren's one million subscriber video. Its not music, just Ren explaining what success means to him. But in 5 minutes you get such a clear idea of who he is. Spoiler: turns out... he's a great guy!
Catching up on comments today and I've seen this mentioned a few times, so I will add it to the list and may even look at doing it in the next couple of weeks
@@oldmanmetaldude idk if it would work into things the way you have your UA-cam schedule planned out, BUT There's an old song, from 13-14 years ago (recorded about 7-8 years ago) that shows the 1mil subs message isn't new ideas for Ren, he's had at least some of the seeds of it his entire adult life (tho his extreme illness undoubtedly refined some of it), AND the song is the 1st part of another series of songs people will be requesting the newer ones for, the Love Music series (4 songs). 2 thru 4 are mostly just fun, joyous, flexing romps thru his lyrical genius and rapping skills, and but Love Music 1 gets skimmed over a lot because it's not as cheeky as the other 3, but it's a joyful early autobiographical track that meshes EXTREMELY well with last year's 1 mil subs message.
Ren doesn't just play a song... you can tell that he lives it, every time. He just puts SO much heart in everything that he does. So much space in his music for showing love for others. And when he collaborates he always deliberately makes space for those around him shine. With Ren, you don't always know what you're gonna get - but you know it will always be raw and honest. I just discovered your channel. In the 15 months or so I've literally watched hundreds of Ren video reactions. As a non-musician myself, I enjoyed the insight you brought to this reaction. Thanks.
Dynamic (organically) is exactly why Ren sounds so special for me. Also love hearing a musician react and comment on his musicianship cuz i know nothing except what my ears like. And they love Ren’s music.
Dude the fact these are EDM tracks! 🤯 stripped down to simple beauty. Ren does all the production, everything! And these are actually five songs!! Just yeah.. 🤯
Probably got it from busking and his time with the Big Push, but his transitions are impeccable. So clean and flawless, you wouldn’t think he just moved into a different song.
As an older person who'd given up on popular music I must compliment Ren on opening my ears to all of the grand music put there that's not playing on commercial channels. I am now enjoying my musical journey of discovery. Being open to new stuff helps keeps one alive.
It was recorded in his apartment in Calgary, Canada where he is still receiving medical treatment. He did all the sound production on this. The 5 Fred Again songs are : Jungle ; Delilah (Pull Me Out Of This) ; leavemealone ; Clara (The Night is Dark); Angie (I've Been Lost). Ren connected very very strongly with the last song in particular. A few months ago he saw Fred Again in concert in LA. Ren broke down when he heard the refrain "I've been lost for a while" being repeated over and over. He said "That describes the last 10 years of my life"

I don’t know the original songs, but I am here for anything Ren does and this was beautiful. The artistry to take EDM tracks and make a mashup so emotional is incredible. Ren has music in his soul and pours so much soul into music and every performance 🖤🐰🕳️
Nice reaction Old dude, I am old guy to 68 and Ren has the amazing ability to feel his emotion so much, He is THE ARTIST of our time !! He brings the same out of people from around the world. I would like to blame REN for unity and respect for others I have never meet. I look for everything I can find from this man. He has my respect and love . ANd he put this song together quick in comparison from 5 of Fred Again's songs. Thank you for shearing the same feelings we all have
I think early on said to someone "these waters run wide and deep, but it won't be long before you realise not only do you love to swim, but the ocean is your natural habitat." Those words came back to me during hope your reaction.
It doesnt matter how old you are, your appreciation for Rens music is great and certainly not weird! Noone can deny the fact that you know what you are talking about. Most people don't play instruments, which is why we like watching people like you, that do. You give us another side to Rens songs that we may not necessarily understand! We need you and your knowledge. Its good to share and we are great listeners. Thank you again!!! 🫶🏼
The Fred Again originals are full EDM beats. Someone made a compilation of the originals mashed up at the same points Ren used them and it's astonishing how different they are. Some of the FA songs used are Ain't No Love in the Jungle and Angie is you wanted to check them out. Most of Ren's production, mixing, etc, is all done by him. Occasionally he gets someone else to mix/master tracks but (especially for live stuff like this) it's all him.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful reactions to Ren's music!🙏 You have beautiful eyes and to see them sparkling with inspiration from Ren's talent is awesome!🤩 My warmest welcome to the Ren rabbit hole 😍🔥 Subbed to follow your journey❤️
I think one of his talents is to be able to express true emotions through music in a way that is so understandable to many of us. He wears his heart on his sleeve and lets us all see so much which is rare. So glad you are here for this😊

Watching you start taking a deep dive into Ren’s work is such a joy… the making of a Renegade! 😁 Ren about to rip the tears out of our faces again. 🥹 This was shot in his Calgary apartment where he has been for over a year to receive alternative medical treatments for the ravages of untreated Lyme Disease. So, he is especially feeling those last lyrics. Ren is a raver at heart it seems, and this is such beautiful tribute to Fredagain. 💔❤️🩹❤️
Ren does all his own production. 😊 In one of his interviews, I think with The Charismatic Voice (on UA-cam), he described some of his setups. He's a HUGE sound nerd.

Ren does all of his production in house. He has learned all of his instruments from YT along with training his voice from one of his many reactors. Pure organic. HIs Dad gave him a guitar at age 11 and the magic developed from there. Loved your reaction keep it up.
Loving your reactions! I think you’d enjoy Ren’s 1M subscriber video and also Eden. Both really give an insight into his philosophy and how he sees music and the world. Looking forward to more from you! 💜
He does it all. Everything himself. And he's self taught. How he did that while sick, I do not know. I've am ill with similar and he makes me feel totally inadequate for doing almost nothing with my life. He's incredible.

Ren did an interview with The Charismatic Voice where he talked about his mixing and sound production. You're right, all done himself. That interview is totally worth the watch. The Interview he did with Black Pegasus, Ren brought out Sam, his cinematographer for some of his most notable videos. Very cool to see them talk about their development of their art.

This song is my absolute favorite of Ren’s. I love every other one but this one speaks to my heart. I admire Ren and I’m so proud of him. Thank you for your great reaction
Great reaction 👌 I really struggled to hold myself together first few times I heard the end 😊 I just take comfort now in the fact Ren has made it trough his battles 😎
Thank you for your very thoughtful reaction. Ren was at a Fred Again concert and apparently the I've been lost words over and over at that gig really got to him too. Believe Fred was going through some crap at the time Freds partner i understand was going through health issues while he was away on tour. The way he has mashed up 5 songs and made it his own version is unique and special. Recorded at the apartment he is staying in Calgary near the medical centre he is getting treatment at to help with his Lymes disease. Please take time to see video short of typical day in Rens life showing what he is going through all done in a fun way even though in reality not a fun way to get through your day some of it. Enjoyed your reaction 🎶🧡🔥👩🦰
Please check out the money game trilogy but make sure part 2 is the lyric video. This young man really is a once in a lifetime artist and I love how he brings so many people together.
From what I understand and have heard from some reviews with Ren, he does most of his own mixing and producing and he is extremely meticulous. If you look at the “Hi Ren” video where he’s using the one mic pinned to the robe, because he was turning his head back and forth for each “character” the levels would drop when he turned away from the mic, he explained that he literally had to through the entire song and adjust the levels for almost every word to even out the sound.
glad you mentioned Devin Townsend - He's my favourite artist beside Ren, I fell down the DT rabbit hole only a couple of years ago, and didnt think it would be topped, especially by someone doing hip hop, beat poetry and Sting covers, but here we are!
Note him holding his leg still right at the end....I think from the many videos I've watched he uses it a bit like a metronome when he can't use his head bob :)
You have to check out an artist suggested to us Renegades by Ren called Dirt Miller. His song Kansas City is so different and good as well as his Guitar Symphony 🔥
Interesting reaction. Thank you and subscribed. Ren seems to be able kill everything he does. How many times have I said 'That's my fave Ren song, only to find the next one he releases is even better - he's amazing.
Devin Townsend is a good comparison actually, both with the creativity and their humble attitude. I really appreciate hearing your thoughts around this song, thank you 🤩
Hey brother, Check out Fred Again’s NPR Tiny Desk performance. Not necessarily for a reaction (30min long) but I think you’d dig it. I’m not into EDM really but that performance is something different. He learned a bunch of instruments specifically for that performance. It’s pretty incredible. Really good vibe too.
The only song of Rens i didnt vibe with straight away was Animal Flow, but at the same time, i loved and appreciated the one-take video. Then the more i listened to it, the more i loved it. Then he released the accoustic version and 🤯. Good luck finding a track you dont like 😂
Bro yo get the mindset so well, artists create unique things that aren't always appreciated straight away but they create because that's who they are, money is nice but it is not the driver for true artists
I think Ren garners such respect from other muscians not simply because he is extremely talented, but because he is truly independant and is free to explore his creativity and talent. Record companies stifle true talent these days becaue they want more of them same that sells. They get scared if an artist wants to stray from the formula that made them a success. This song is my absolute favorite of Ren’s. I love every other one but this one speaks to my heart. I admire Ren and I’m so proud of him. Thank you for your great reaction
Great reaction 👌
I really struggled to hold myself together first few times I heard the end 😊 I just take comfort now in the fact Ren has made it trough his battles 😎
Great reaction!❤
Please do:
Chalked out lines (LIVE)- Ren and Chinchilla
How to be me (LIVE)- Ren and Chinchilla
Enjoyed your reaction
🎶🧡🔥👩🦰
I think it has 4 or 5 Fred again songs in this. And you can’t tell, that’s a sign of how good this is.
He went and saw Fred Again while he was taking a break from treatment in L.A. where he also did is acoustic version of Murder.
Subscribed! You know music and you appreciate Ren. Great reaction.👍💕🦇
Beautiful reaction; I love your self-reflection at the end. ❤
Chalk Outlines REN x Chinchilla
Please check out the money game trilogy but make sure part 2 is the lyric video. This young man really is a once in a lifetime artist and I love how he brings so many people together.
From what I understand and have heard from some reviews with Ren, he does most of his own mixing and producing and he is extremely meticulous. If you look at the “Hi Ren” video where he’s using the one mic pinned to the robe, because he was turning his head back and forth for each “character” the levels would drop when he turned away from the mic, he explained that he literally had to through the entire song and adjust the levels for almost every word to even out the sound.
I like your videos on Ren. Can’t say I have watched the other ones yet but keep up the good work mate
glad you mentioned Devin Townsend - He's my favourite artist beside Ren, I fell down the DT rabbit hole only a couple of years ago, and didnt think it would be topped, especially by someone doing hip hop, beat poetry and Sting covers, but here we are!
I agree with you and Ren Kurt Vonnegut who said, “we are to help each other through whatever this is.” ❤️❤️❤️
Your reactions and insights are top tier and I agree that everything Ren does also is top tier. Love following your journey!
Great Reaction love the emotion on this performance!!
I enjoy your reactions to Ren very much; thank you!
Note him holding his leg still right at the end....I think from the many videos I've watched he uses it a bit like a metronome when he can't use his head bob :)
Nerve damage makes his leg hurt a lot. He lifts it sometimes to reduce the pain.
You know what they say . . One mans garbage is anothers treasure. ❤
Devin Townsend is a good comparison actually, both with the creativity and their humble attitude. I really appreciate hearing your thoughts around this song, thank you 🤩
I think thats one of the reasons I appreciate Ren's art as much as I am
Hey brother, Check out Fred Again’s NPR Tiny Desk performance. Not necessarily for a reaction (30min long) but I think you’d dig it. I’m not into EDM really but that performance is something different. He learned a bunch of instruments specifically for that performance. It’s pretty incredible. Really good vibe too.
Next please. Ren, BACK ON 74/MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE retake. 🙏 Best regards from Norway 🇳🇴
Please ramble away 😂 I’m here for it ❤
The only song of Rens i didnt vibe with straight away was Animal Flow, but at the same time, i loved and appreciated the one-take video. Then the more i listened to it, the more i loved it. Then he released the accoustic version and 🤯. Good luck finding a track you dont like 😂
Love the rambling, love from an old chick❤
Super reaction. I’m always waiting for the next step in your journey. See you next time!!
Bro yo get the mindset so well, artists create unique things that aren't always appreciated straight away but they create because that's who they are, money is nice but it is not the driver for true artists
