Yes, unfulfilled dreams. My husband and I are almost 70, and we thought by now he would be retired and we would be traveling the country in a motorhome. But he is still working. We have decided to thank God for the provision of his job. And because of that income, we can afford to take our kids and grandkids on an annual vacation with us. What a blessing! Thank you, Melissa, for the encouragement.

Hi Voula. I had to take a minute & tell you that I so appreciate you being open in what you said. And your advice about finding joy & meditating was so helpful! Thank you for mentioning those. Through the years I've had 3 nervous breakdowns & been hospitalized for them. So I really feel for you so much. So many women have plates that are so full, & like Melissa & the other gal said, even though we may not know the person in front of us in the checkout line, they may have something going on worse than us. Meditating on the good things & the joy in my life helps me too. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Oh thank you! My body is pretty sun damaged. My mom's was too. I would bet anything that she had some skin cancers, but she never had it checked,. My brother has had two melanomas so it makes me wonder. So I think the spots seem to run in our family. I do think the Retin A and the Obagi Blender have helped with the sun damage on my face. When I was younger I had acne that left scars and some pitting like an orange peel on my face, especially in the hollows of my cheeks, and I know for sure they have enormously helped with that. I can barely see the scars anymore. But thank you so much! Be safe and take care. Love, Melissa

@Profitt Thank you for the really nice compliment. It's hard to know about things. My mom had bad and aging skin. She had bad jowls and sagging and lots of wrinkles. I don't know about my dad, as I never saw him in old age. My mom had a really confident attitude, though, which made her look younger. She looked a lot like Doris Day. But I started getting those spots early and it's always been a source of embarrassment for me. But again, thank you and I hope this weekend is a really good one for you. xox, Melissa

You look GORGEOUS!! Your skin glows! I JUST turned 67 and I was doing GREAT until I was attacked by a bunch of health "junk" that aged me & my skin 5-10 YEARS in less than 2 years. The doctors of course just ignore it all. I eat very clean but SLEEP is my problem. Since I have had the problems I have trouble sleeping & I think that is part of it. BUT I know you have health issues too, and see how well you have managed it and are doing so well, it lets me see that I just need to find what works for me and I can overcome it and look & feel good too. Melissa you are so right about finding joy in small things. I have always said that that's my greatest gift. And here's another tip I found. When you feel happy in those moments say it out loud. I can be sitting alone or in company and when I feel that joy i say ' Oh I'm happy'. Happiness is not a constant. It's brief moments interspersed with other stuff. When you acknowledge it, the brain lays it down like an affirmation and it trains it to notice those moments so they don't slip by. I am happy watching your video!! X

Hi Melissa....this video spoke to me personally on so many levels. You are such an inspiration to me. I am 63 years old and I never stop trying to keep myself young and most of all, healthy. I wish that I would have stayed with one skincare regiment my whole life but I was always looking for something I've never tried, never giving anything a chance and I do regret that. Also, you will love the derma roller on your skin I have a Dr. Pen and it's great, a little more invasive and effective than the manual.
I also agree with your ending. Life has many ups and downs so we always have to be grateful for the simple things that we tend to take for granted. I am a hairstylist as I've told you but I am also a writer for a local magazine and I wrote a story once about the reprieves we get in life. The small moments when things are going well and we could breathe again. As a two time cancer survivor I know this very well. At the end of my story I write, I believe these reprieves were the moments that saved me and they can save us all if we have the courage to let them. God bless you and thank you for this very touching video.

    • @Melissa55

Oh my gosh, that is wonderful that you write. You are a creative person and I love that, and you sure have gone through so much. I hope your health is going ok now. I really like the thought of the reprieves. Those small moments. One year my son and his family had to live with us during the winter for a couple of months. My youngest grandson would come say goodnight to me and he had on these little Cars house shoes. Those little shoes always got to me for some reason and it made all the worry just so worth it. Thank you for this. Love, Melissa

Everything you said was wonderful, everything! The last part hit me like a ton of bricks. Wow. How did you know that I’ve become a bitter 69 year old woman. Married for 50 years, my husband and I both so deeply feel the things you brought up. Disappointment about his career and choices we made together; losing his job six years ago - the impact that had on us, especially him, was and is, devastating. We went from having lots of money down to almost nothing. That was the catalyst that has put us where we are today. Also, waiting on a windfall that we’ve been fighting for for six years has almost ruined us. Every year we think it’s going to happen and every year nothing happens. Every year we get older and every year we both are let down more and more. It’s the hardest thing to face in our entire marriage and we have faced some things that most normal people never think about. I need strength to face the fact that our situation is not going to change. I need the strength to help my husband accept it. Thank you for your comments. I will count my blessings and I will do it everyday. Thank you.

Thanks for your comment Kathy. My husband and I have had similar disappointments in our lives the last 7-8 years going from lots of money to little and we also faced challenges many people don't think about. It's been a struggle but counting our blessings and staying grateful has helped us both enormously. And although I didn't use to believe it, little miracles do truly happen when you least expect it.

You have great beauty habits. I think the best thing is finding what's the best for your skin. I keep using different products. I just have to stop & use what I have. Maybe I'll find out what's the best for me. Your so right not to worry when your trying to sleep. My Mother said my Father would tell her all that was bother him when they were in bed. She'd get so mad because he'd unload his problems & then sleep like a baby. My Mother would be awake the rest of the night. She was a worrier. I was for many years. One day I just decided to stop worrying about everything. I still worry but not to a crazy extent. I think laughter is another good beauty habit. Having a porch to sit on must be wonderful. Seeing your Grandchildren is another wonderful thing to keep you young. Love you, Lucy
