Hi, great advice thanks, I have exactly the problem you have just described break releases no power beeps in reverse but won't go motor runs when wired separately so probably control box fault its a Sterling scooter thanks

I have an envoy 8. The 6th green light is only. Checked every item you have suggested. The batteries have 27.8 v the brake is working, the motor is working, it charged. But does not show the 27.8v. the lever shows balanced OMS. It looks to me like a wiring a fault or the computer. Have you any ideas?
This looks remarkably like the problem I have on my wife's TGA Vita. Only difference is it does seem to try to move occasionally , but stops.
Any idea where the control box is on the vita?
Very informative video. I have a shop rider Mayfair which I have a problem with. When power is applied but ignition off it emits a constant tone. When ignition on it is quite, power meter shows full power but no movement. Have no maintenance guide so working on experience lol 😆 . Think it may be electro brake or control box. Thanks Tom 👍
Odd you should not be able to get any noise if you have switched the ignition off. Could be water damage. Check ignition switch
Hi tom coverd my scooter with a car cover has there is no place for it except outside .it has power works then stop leave it works then stops again .i have a kymco midi i dont know if its got damp plus i dont know where the reset button is i got it from fb dealer that had hid the bad reviews .its starts juddering but sometimes works .can you .

Very good videos Thanks. I have a Rascal 245 that used to run and then stop, I would switch the key back and forth and it would run again for a while then stop. It got worse then stopped altogether . Now what? The batteries are newer and are connected fine. Any advice ? Thanks. Doug
This scooter has split wiring looms. One at the base of the tiller under the gaiter and one underneath at the rear check these connections and clean.
I have a similar fault on my shop rider but it’s intermittent break works and it will drive then it will stop and I get the beeps about 1 sec intervals . Iv checked voltage to the break when this happens and when I operate the paddle there is no voltage to the break . I can turn the key on and off a few times then power comes back and it will drive . Any thoughts on this please
I have two questions for you. I have an EV Rider Scooter that looks like oil has leaked out from somewhere. I haven't seen anyone talk about lubricating these things. Do they need to be lubricated? That might make a good video. Second question, this same scooter says that it is out of power when the battery is fully charged. It starts OK but within five minutes the indicator lights drop down to red. Why? Thanks in advance for any insight that you can provide. I wish you lived in the US.
The only part of the scooter that has oil is in the transaxle and they are maintenance free. So if oil is leaking then there’s a problem. most likely a faulty bearing on the drive shaft. If the power drops rapidly then check the batteries/charger and the electric brake it could be stuck. Hope this helps

I have a gogo pride scooter how do I reset it I tried to do different things but it won't start and also does those scooters require water cause one day I was charging it and the towel I had it set on was damp when I went to put the battery on the scooter
Hey Tom, My mother has a M1 Portal 4-Wheel Mobility Scooter and the battery is not making good contact. Are you familiar with that unit?
Hi I would check the internal battery connections. Also check to see if there are any stones or gravel under the battery box preventing it from making a good contact Check all connections mate. Check for black contacts etc
How are you connecting the cables to the battery so as to test your two units.?
I have a special battery tester that has clamps to fit to the terminals

HI Tom, I have a jazzy 1122 with new batteries... I got 12.5v going into the controller box but I don't have 12volts coming out to each motor only 2.4 volts only the left wheel bearly moves. I would like to know if I should check anything else before purchasing a new controller. Thanks!
If you only have 12v going to the control box then you have wired the batteries wrong should be 24v plus

Hallo we have e a shoprider . Probleem is wen you go forward is oké break free . Wait thans hear no klick go Bach en only beep the break .come not free. Wen Youp go forward break come free thans back it is oké. Is de probleem thans in de module wat kost de module

Andrew mcbride if there was no reversing tone then in would of checked the throttle pot first.
hi tom i have aold strider st1 small boot scooter watched all your vidos tested everything getting 9 on the flash codes just not getting anything from the CTE control box i belive it got wet i have left it for two weeks now and still not working cant feel the relay in the control box comeing on if i sent it to you could you test it or repair it or supply another one cheers steve

Hello, I got a faulty S-DRIVE PG drives D51259. 02 (70) corroded contacts, it is from a Pride 4 wheeler Beaufort 13, is that repearable?
tried with a D51446.06 (140) and it works 24-volt contacts are bigger and the unit has too much height.

Have a Lynx-4 scooter with a bad controller, can the controller be repaired or need to purchase another one?
Depending on what the problem is if it’s water damage then forget it mind you recon you would be cheaper getting a second hand one

Check all wires to and from the battery
have a shoprider scooter when key turned on
and put electronic brake into drive it beeps continously, and will not turn wheels, (wont move, even though batteries charged full, lights work etc, but wont let scooter move on its own power, when put brake in neutral and turn key on it dont beep, but can be pushed, when key turned on, and push micro switch down it beeps, any ideas
Always put into drive before switching on.

Hi I have an older rascal scooter it was working just fine now it’s like it’s stuck in reverse it’s doing what this one is then it just takes off could it be the control box on mine ?
i would first try the throttle pot swap the two outside wires and try again. Once done if you press the reverse lever the scooter should drive forward and if pressed the forward lever then should not work..... that tells you a faulty throttle pot ... PS we sell the pots...
Hi Tom, I have a strider st3 that whatever charge state the battery is in only shows 1 bar. Recently the scooter has stopped working and the fault code flashes five times indicating a brake fault. I have followed your video right down to changing the control box. None of this has worked, could it be the circuit board in the head stem, as all the wiring and connections appear to be good.
One bar states low battery voltage. What’s the battery voltage ?
The batteries have just been replaced giving 26.2 at the battery and 24.6 at the key switch
When your checking the battery voltage where you checking it from the battery direct or the charging socket

Just a bit more info, when the motor assembly is disconnected nothing changes, and I am getting 19.3 volts across B1 & B2 if the key is on or off. It is quite an old scooter now so not sure if it’s worth trying to repair it?
Hi Tom my gogo when the wigwag is applied the battery dial gauge goes full to empty it then drives for a few yards then slowly dies thanks
Batteries are bad.
I saw a video where the owner had a bad control box....He opened it up and replaced the fuse.
How ucj is the box you too out and replaced
Control boxes can be repaired
if the part number is the same how do you know if the programming is correct for your scooter
You will need to make sure it’s from the exactly the same scooter and the important thing is the type of controls that are fitted. If you get the wrong one then the forward lever may drive in reverse rather than forward

No problem looks like you are draining the battery very fast test batteries and check to see if the brake is not binding on.

This scooter has a metal bottom on so impossible. It is very wet in the UK 🇬🇧 so not exposed. Some have a small flap on the top to gain access but sadly on this one you have to raise the floor pan. It’s a pain I know. But not that bad

HI, yes i could of used the laptop software** or a hand held programmer on other scooters but not everyone has said devices so when i repair scooter for tutorials I try to show how to do it without any fancy devices only a multi-meter. PS the shoprider fault diagnostics with the Laptop software is rubbish only gives you 4 faults codes.
@@tomjacques4 H i didnt realize you could use on the scooters. my wife has a Neo 6 nothing wrong with it but brother in law has a Drive Sport Rider which has developed a `wont reverse fault` and thought i have a fault code reader for my car perhaps could use to help but dont know where to plug it in, do you know if the sport rider can be pluged to code reader? any help or thought would be great.

@@georgehawkes1740 the controller is under the rear shroud. I would check the toggle forward and reverse switch also all connectors that come from it recon it will all plug into behind the front light cover.

I have the same scooter but mine beeps as if drive mode wasn't engaged.
Dale Robertson so no reversing tone does it beep as you switch it on or only when you touch the controls
@@tomjacques4 it beeps when I start it in push mode it doesn't when I start it in drive until I push the throttle then it starts beeping like its in push mode. Cheers for replying
So it beeps when I touch the throttle but it's the exact same beep as if it was in push mode
