Lindsay, I just have to tell you that you are such an incredible person and you are so inspirational to sooo many people. When it comes to art, the knowledge and wisdom you have is unmatched and the fact that you use it to teach us is so amazing. I wish you could see yourself through the eyes of the people that look up to you. Please don't ever lose the humility and compassion that you have in your heart for your art and for your students because even though you can't see us you are still teaching us. So thank you very much for just being you. I am so excited for this video!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Well said! Apt and eloquently stated. I couldn't have said it better! Lindsay has been a mainstay in my art journey over these last few years. I don't purchase any art tools without first consulting Lindsay's reviews. She has never steered me wrong! Her tutorials are inspiring and fun. She makes me run to fetch my paints and I can't think of a better compliment. Thanks and Bless
That's such a kind thing to say. Thank you:)
SO agree👍
@@thefrugalcrafter you're very welcome 🙏. I have been subscribed and following you for years (my profile photo and name have chnaged a cpl times lol) and some of the things I have learned from you are integral parts of my daily art process. I am only telling you truth. You are an incredible and beautiful soul 💜.
@@lindseywarren44 I mistook you for Lindsay at first, and thought "Wow, that's really out of character for her to be like 'Well said, I AM amazing!'" 😅😂
Fun colors
“That’s alright, it’s whimsy.” My new life motto when I don’t love something. Thanks!
Aw this turned out really cute! Nice to see your thought process and how you handle it when you're not pleased with something. Thank you. Mix media is so fascinating.
You are our Art Mentor, Lindsay! Showing us what we CAN do, but not telling us that we HAVE to do something.
I really enjoy these mixed media pieces, they're so fun. And the frog singing in the background just makes it even better. Reminds me of home. 💚 Thank you for another lovely painting video!
😆 I didn't even notice it
Hullo Lindsay, I get just excited to watch you paint! I often fall to the "one more thing" and overwork a painting! I envy your ability to just stop! I have even tried to work with soft pastels and go with a more impressionistic look and feel to my work, still need to work on the stopping bit! It is a bit more noticeable when you can no longer get the pastel to stick to the paper, but by then, oops! to late! I am reminded of a Studio Ghibli movie whenever I see the Gansai paints! I have done a few paintings from stills of Studio Ghibli films and we re-watched Howl's Moving Castle again last weekend! I am thinking of doing another and I just do not know how so many Japanese artist start out with the Gansai paints! but they do! I guess we are just a bit spoiled in the west with our transparent single pigment paints! Thanks again for showing everyone how to create wonderful cups for an afternoon of painting fun! Simply Lovely!
Thank you! We are spoiled here for sure!
Pure joy! Remember the movie beauty and the beast? The dancing cups and saucers 😍. I’m so excited to paint this? Your painting makes me so happy.💕 I still need to get this paint set. Thank you so much! My refuge 💕
Thanks!
When you break out the M Grahams, I know we’re in for some fun. But now I want a set of paint pens!
Hello, Lindsay! Welcome! Thank you for your video.❤.💞.
It was so fun knowing where the painting was going to go.
Past Lindsay has no ideas 🤣🤣
This came out great. What a fun piece
I did noticed the looseness in my brushes as well. Thanks for letting us know.
I fixed it easy peesy 😊
Awesome!
Your whimsical YT tutorials made me fall in love with watercolor 😊 thanks again Lindsay!
Aww, thanks!
Fun! I think the silver at the end was just right. Thanks Lindsay 💜
Thank you!
The tea cups turned out cute. It was inspirational to watch it evolve with mixed media. Thank you for a fun, light subject. It does really look like steam from that top cup.
I painted along and it came out cute! It was nice to paint something today.
I love this! It make me think of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party.
Love the outcome, even though during the process I was thinking "what is she doing? She's crazy" 😃. But that's probably why I like watching these. The red cup looks like glass and it's so 😍.
This loiks so great to be framed and displayed in a kitchen. Beautiful, Lindsay! I think I will try my new Kuretake Art Deco set with this.
Nice!

Sooooooooo fun!! The process is amazing and the end result is fabulous - love it!! Thanks Lindsay! ♥️👏🏻♥️
Thanks!
First time watching you and it won’t be the last. Love theses cups
Thanks!
Love your projects, it’s how I learned of free reference sites. I downloaded the cups, I will make them maybe in oil pastels.
You’re so talented and here I am lol just trying to learn how to draw ✍🏼 years and years before since I picked up paint pins, acrylics everything it’s just re-learning I’m terrified to start water colors yet
Love it and going to try it myself although i think that is a bold statement 🤭😁as i have onlycolored stamps with watercolor and only a couple of flowers that were so so.. But... Why not try.. Thx so much 4 this awsome tutorial 👍, love your result 👌
I love this painting:) I have a wiggly ferrule too, so I will do that!
Absolutely stunning. Your talent blows me away. Tfs. Blessings and Hugs 🤗
Thanks!
A delightful video! Can't wait to try it!
Such a fun painting! Thanks so much for sharing
"That's Salada tea!" 🛑🫖 My mom raised in Massachusetts moved to Georgia and missed this so bad, she had her sister bring a box every year at Christmas. Thanks for the memory! 😊
Is salada a new england thing? My mom drinks that brand so that's what usually buy too 😆
I really love this painting sooo much ❤❤
Thank you so much 😀
I'm really looking forward to painting this tomorrow evening, thank you so much!
Yay!
❤ so much fun, love it
Splatters are delightful especially on computers and walls.
My walls are very delightful!
😂😂😂
This came out lovely! It's very spring, which I appreciate as we're still chilly where I am. Thanks for sharing!
You may be interested to see a few of thede videos- I recently found a channel called Kaiteki Art, she's a Japanese lady who does traditional Japanese art along with Western Art. She uses Gambi paints a lot in her videos, along with various other paints, inks and other mediums. She's also big into ink drawing...man those inks are gorgeous too but I can't afford to take that up lol. I found her channel at first when searching for additional artists who use the Gambi paints (I learned of them through your videos).
Hi Lindsey, What a cute painting I just love the colors!!
Thanks!
Oh and Thank you Lindsay for showing using the meeden cotton paper. I was wondering if it was similar to the Baohong. For the price I would speculate it is the student quality equivalent. I happen to really like Baohong artist quality and the student quality isn't bad either except for better lifting and masking fluid removal the sizing on the artist quality is better. Thanks again.🎉
I love it so much!! I'm really gonna try to paint this!❤
Loved watching this video. I already have two watercolor sets (M Graham and Daniel Smith) and I promised myself that I wouldn’t buy another. Now, I can stop thinking about these Kuretake watercolors.
This is a fun set. I am enjoying it a lot!
Love this!!!
Love your channel Lindsey.💜💜💜
Great painting! 👍😊
I love your process and self talk! 😂 whimsical and adorable painting too!
Beautiful!
super fun!
It's perfect! Love it! ❤️
Lovely ❤
You are a talented artist that shares her talent and teaches us so many things. This is so fun! Thank you!
I lived this! I will watch it again while painting. I just bought Kuretake paints so this will get me started. Thanks!
Nice!
Love it!!
This is a delightful piece.
Thanks!
I really like it!
This was fun
Makes me think of Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter!💜💜💜
The ASMR of that marker drawer...! Feel free to bring that out and rummage through it more often. 🤣
Was the color change in that tea bag surprising to you? It started off darker, I felt, then immediately turned to orange...then I thought it mellowed out to something neutral...and then suddenly you came back, and it was solid dark brown!
The gansai had lots if whit and orange in it but the Mars brown really stupid out after it dried.
Excellent video. Couldn’t join you live but loved listening and watching you while I crafted tonight. Just ordering some alcohol marker supplies so I can start your course. Thanks for the instructive video Lindsay.
Oops, the video skipped ahead while I was typing my comment. Meant this to be attached to your alcohol live video. Sorry.
Awesome!
I really like the new colors and feel they are more transparent than the 36 set I got in 2017
They have changed their formula so they may be
Glad you said wrap a towel to protect it because I didn’t think of that and I didn’t want to scratch up 2 of your brushes crimping the ferrels. The company should say that cause I was like I’m not going to scratch up my brushes. Now I can fix other brushes that have this problem
Thanks for the info about your brush set Lindsay. The ferrule on my number 8 round is loose so I'll get the pliers out and have a go at tightening it.
Funnily enough, I've just been playing with the art nouveau paints, trying to figure out what to do with them when I put this video on , so the timing couldn't be better! Very Alice in Wonderland.
Perfect!
This looks like so much fun! I love the colors. Thanks so much for sharing the tip about your Craftamo brushes, too! All the ferrules on my round brushes are loose, so I’m glad to finally have a fix for that!
Glad I can help!
This is 3 cups of joy.
Thanks!
I always enjoy watching your videos from the thought-sketch-painting processes. Totally amazes me. Just asking for a friend (lol), do you sell your watercolors? There have been so many that I like. This last one would look great in my kitchen. Thank you.
I do, You can email me to see if a piece is available and the price: artstudiosofbangor@yahoo.com
👏🏼👏🏼💜💜
I'll obviously test it out myself, but I am curious if you've tried/had success with this? I'm going to do a mixed media piece where I'm considering using a bit of "gold foil flakes", like the stuff that comes in a jar, and you add a bit of glue and then glue the flakes down? In particular: have you used something like that on cold press wc paper?
I'm concerned that because it's opaque it might remove some of the shapes (I'll be doing it in very small areas, but still), but was also wondering if, perhaps, the bumps in the paper might make the glue (will be using a glue pen) not perfect, so I'd get a bit of texture (and underlying colour) when the flakes doesn't stick to everything.
(also, I just got Schminke's mars brown, cobalt violet hue and two of their supergranulating colours, and I'm sooo pleased. Can't wait to use them!)
I have and it looks nice but there are some very nice inks that might be easier to deal with. I think Liz Chatterton uses gold leaf in her watercolor sometimes. I think she is on UA-cam and on instagram.
Lindsay, I’m excited to do this drawing after finishing my carnation this weekend from last Friday’s Michaels’ tutorial. Unfortunately I’m not on Instagram to post a picture of my photo, but I framed it and gave it to my mom for Mother’s Day, and she loved it!! I’m wondering if I could possibly substitute the Derwent Pastel Pan set for these watercolors since I don’t have them, and they’re sold out. Thanks for your thoughts!
Sure!
Lindsay, I’ve been watching you for years (7-8) and before you cut your long hair! It’s funny that makes me feel like I know you! I had gotten away from watercoloring and mixed media art lately, but when this popped up in my notifications I thought I’d check it out! But was wondering about your sketches of the cups, I’m 68 and don’t have the gift of drawing. So that’s why I asked you if you had sketches. But it appears you ignored my question. I don’t know why, because all you needed to tell me was yes or no. It wouldn’t have hurt my feelings if you had said no, but you not answering at all did 😢
not at all, I am just getting back to answering comments. I do a few here and there as they show up in my app but it takes me a while to get to them all. I actually just answered yours:)
Lindsay, do you provide your sketches anywhere for people who can’t draw a straight line?? Thanks ❤Pam
OMG what a fab idea!!
I used to for many of them but lost everything on my cloud storage. I have line art foe some fo my teachable lessons and I have thought of doing a coloring book of my paintings.
@@thefrugalcrafter
That would be great Lindsay! I’m so sorry 😢 if I offended you, that wasn’t my intention dear💕 I’d be willing to pay for them because I know it takes time to do that! I have taken some of your teachable classes way back!
Thank you for being such a wonderful person and helping others to learn from your God given talent 💖🌺🌸
@@GodBlessUtoo goodness, I'm not offended. I was sad that you thought I ignored your question. We're good ❤
Aren't the Gansai paints formulated for rice paper? When I was researching them to find out how they would work best and if I should buy them which I still have not done due to financial strains. I found out in that research that they were designed to be used on rice paper. That alone tells me that they're behaving differently on watercolor paper and whatever other people we are using. I really would like to see how they work on rice paper if that is something that you at some point would and could do for us.
I'll have to see if I still have some and try it!
Love this!!
