I would say Laporta is the major reason the club has revived itself back. The levers he pulled so Xavi could get players he like despite having financial crisis. Barcelona just lives, because they got away with their fraud and are part of the UEFA money driven business. The fans and supporters got back to reality out of hate driven fantasy-land. Some will stay, and accept that old fantasy stories were debunked. And others left the club and football, some others watch Real or Espanyol, or Portuguese now, as they are fully comparable, but more solid.
One lesser-known aspect of Barcelona's debt is that acquiring players is not a major issue for the club. They can easily adjust their debt to purchase players for over 50M if necessary. However, the challenge lies in the registration process, which has been problematic for Barcelona in recent years due to the strict FFP regulations of La Liga, that didn't even ease even during lockdowns. And with other leagues in the world not following La Liga's FFP, La Liga's policies have forced most clubs, except Real Madrid, to either sell their key players or activate Economic Levers to meet the registration requirements. This season, the departures of Busquets, Alba, and Pique will reduce Barcelona's wage bill by 120 million (wtf Bartomeu). As a result, Barcelona will return to a 1:1 wage registration ratio according to La Liga's FFP rules. This means that registering players for Barcelona will be relatively easier this summer compared to the previous summer.
I don't think that is a lesser known aspect as we have seen this happening all year long after all. Barca wanted to get rid of several players that are important but earn a lot (most prominently de Jong) in order to reduce the wage spending and thus be able to register players like Lewa and other new signings.

I think Bayern is more chaotic this season, throwing out both their CEO and sporting director minutes after winning the Bundesliga title in one of the most thrilling football finals I've ever seen, like damn the last minute goal of Dortmund, but yea Bayerns season was really, really chaotic
Absolutely. For a club that praises itself for being drama free and not spending a lot, they certainly went through the roof this season. Highest wage bill in europe excluding psg, players fighting (good punch from mane), players wanting to leave (welcome kimmich), almost bottling the title, sacking their coach and directors. From 1920's till 1990, the referee comitee was 95% of the time lead either by Real Madrid executives, ex-excutives, ex-players, and "socios". So when Real comes and denaunce they've been damaged by negreira payments, it's an act of cinicism that cannot go unnoticed. Thats why Laporta said that... not a simple smoke screen. Also thanks to Franco's regime, Real stole Di stefano (one of the greatest players of all time and won 5 european cups with Real...) when he already agreed to sign for Barça. We claim thinks as they've been, they're facts...
@@bo4Elite To Franco, Barcelona was another tool to push his regime. Remember without other strong teams the league is less interesting to viewers. It was in his interest to save Barcelona as not only would it continue to be a relevant rival to Madrid and Atletico sporting wise, but also ideology as Barcelona served the role of representing the people of the Catalan region who "supported" Franco. Think, why would Franco remove FC Barcelona alltogether and have the difficulty of forcing hundreds of thousands of supporters to join a new team or lose interest in football? Instead they rename Barca and continue to indoctrinate the people into serving Franco. Now, I won't say Franco didn't mistreat Real Madrid because that would be a lie, as Madrid were also forced to support Franco. However, that doesn't make it false that Franco pushed for the signing of Di Stefano to Real Madrid by forcing Barcelona to share him. The effects of this era are seen to this day in every aspect of football in Spain, and it's a complex subject with issues that aren't "black and white". Love the content man, you our so much work into your research and execution. As a Barça supporter I have 100% faith in the current staff, it took us 6 months to rebuild and we did so from La Masia thanks to Xavi and Co, I feel like so many big clubs have forgotten about their academy players. As for your question "how do you replace Sergio Busquets?" answer is Ngolo Kante, lure him with UCL football.
Kante? Are you seriously a culer? We need someone who knows our style and is proficient in it, not just anyone. Zubimendi, Fabricio Diaz, Nico, Rodri, Kimmich, Redondo are a few. @@MercW11 Not rude at all that's your opinion, we need a strong defensive midfielder that's what Busquets is, that's what Casemiro is, that's what Kante is. Keita filled that role back in the day, I think Kante is the best option, he doesn't care about goals, he cares about protecting his defence.
If barcelona can keep hold of Christiansen, Kounde and Araujo for years to come, this can be an era-defining team. If Pedri Gavi and Balde keep growing, they are a decisive goalscorer away from dominating Spanish and European football within 3 to 5 years. They have so much talent
stop the cap darling, yall need to wait another 2,3 years to see if barkalona will do something, dominating my ass, overhyping everything before the start even, pathetic fanbase for real
As a Barca fan, Xavi reign hasn't been all sunshine and rainbows with the fanbase. Some see him as can't do no wrong, and some see him hate how he treated Dest, how little he plays Fati, some out of position decisions, and keeping Sergi Roberto in general. As for Laporta, he beat Victor Font mostly in part because voters didn't have to envision a plan, they already knew what Laporta could do since the last time the team was most successful, Laporta was in charge. Font hasn't gotten over losing, as recently as last year he was criticizing Laporta. I will say I don't see them as becoming the Man United of Spain in the sense of where United has been as of late. I trust Laporta won't miss manage the behind the scenes as much as the Glazers did.
I have been following this club since 2013 and is my favorite club. This club is a roller-coaster. What I like about this club, is that this club feels like a family and have players who respect and are dedicated to this club. If only united had such culture.

Ey, I know the focus of this channel is usually european/world cup football but I think it would be great to see if you could make a video on some of the great southamerican champions that even managed to defeat legendary european teams. A sugestion: Tele Santana's Sao Paulo, a team that even allowed itself to defeat Cruyff's Barcelona and Capello's Milan in 1992 and 1993
Great video as always! I am from Barcelona, and as far as I understand from reading the media here and all, there will be no more levers pulled this summer, since LaLiga changed their rules to make levers not increase the financial fair play, which was why they were used. I don't know how ffp works, so I won't add nothing more to that. About the 1.5b debt, as long as it's not short-term, I don't think it's much of a problem (I'm not an economist obviously), since Barça are one of the clubs with the highest revenue. Just before the pandemic (different times, I know), we hit 1b revenue per year. So again, as long as the debt isn't short-term, I think we're fine. The problem a couple of years back was that much of this debt was short-term, but Laporta's board managed to renegotiate it for later on. Now, as a Barcelona fan, I am very optimistic on the future. Most of our best players are very young (Pedri, Gavi, Araújo, Balde, Kounde, even FDJ and Dembele even though they're a bit older). We desperately need someone to fill Busquests' shoes, like Zubimendi or Amrabat (and if we manage to get Messi, that'd be glorious). I think we can compete in both LaLiga and CL, knowing of course we are not the favourites in the latter (City is too good lol, Madrid in the CL is unreal, and Bayern, even if unstable, are still extremely dangerous, to name a few). But we should be able to go back to the minimum requirement of the quaterfinals without many issues. And about the other matters, the Negreira case here has cooled off a bit. Before every newspaper (mainly the Madrid ones) had 4 articles a day about the case. Now I have only seen one in this month, I think. Based on that, I think we'll be ruled out innocent, but we have to wait for the judge. And about the Regime thing, I thought it unfortunate of Laporta to say it, but most people here agree with him. Not going to say more since it's a spiky topic. Great vid again!
And just to add to your well-detailed comment that Barca is back to 1:1 ratio from 4:1 (saving 4 to spend 1 euro in the market) according to the reports
@@M.Sajid98 I've heard about that a few times, but honestly don't know how it works. Are we now back to the 1:1 rule, or we will be if we decrease the ffp by 200m as LaLiga wants? If Barcelona today hasn't been sold and is building a competitive team and actually winning again - it's all thanks to Laporta. He rescued the club this way once before in the past as well (2003), and built the foundation of the legendary teams that would conquer everything under Guardiola (and later others) - which was destroyed by Rossell and Bartomeu. Now he's salvaging the club once again.

A question for Barca fans, what do you guys think about Koeman? From the outside looking in, I think he did okay (not good, okay) with the playerd and time he had and the chaos the club was in at the time. He introduced a lot of new players and steadied the ship. In the end, it wasn't working out, but to me it seems he layed the groundworks for Xavi to take it to the next level.
yes he literally set the ground works for the current team, specially with the youth players and involving them more often with the first team. It is not his fault messi had to leave or the clubs financials . so he did okay (not bad , not good)
He did what every Dutch manager at Barca has done and that is laying down the ground work. Just look at how many players of the golden generation made their debut under van Gaal and Frank Rijkaard and same can be said about Koeman but at the same time he was his biggest enemy and towards the end it felt like he was asking to be sacked with the remarks he kept on making towards the board especially Laporta. His game play wasn't exciting to watch but at the same time he didn't have the backing of the board and hence never actually got the proper team he wanted. But regardless his time as manager he will always be remembered as one of our best center backs and crucial player in Cruyff dream team leading to Barca's first UCL.
He came in at a time of uncertainty, with a refurbished squad. As a club legend and an imposing figure he was somewhat able to steady the ship but limitations in his tactics and style of play was pretty evident. While I still think Xavi should've been forced to have European experience before being handed the job, it was clear that Koeman was never the man for this board who wanted a fresh start altogether. Still a club legend but never good enough in the long term for a big club.
Positives: He encouraged talent and played them, sometimes too much and sometimes the perfect amount. He does good in cup and tournament football, that's why he was the best with the Netherlands. Negatives: He was playing a pessimistic 5-3-2 at a club like Barça, blasphemy. No natural wingers and way too many defenders. He is pessimistic and egotistical. He would blame the players and say crazy stuff. He still is very petty and angry, talking shit about Barça, he did that when stuff was going wrong as a manager too.
Levers won't be pulled because La Liga changed their financial rules in November last year, excluding income from asset sales from what is included in calculating their cost limit.

As far as I know. Real Madrid was also paying 😅 My only real question is this: How could La Liga allow Negreira to have 2 spots? It has also come out that Barcelona has provided documentation that clears them of any wrongdoing. I think there are talks about suing Tebas for the false documents sent to UEFA. Tebas is doing everything in his power to bring down Barcelona. It’s real sad to see how he also destroys La Liga. He recently declined goal cameras, because it would cost La Liga 3m/year 😅
Tebas is not a neutral in this situation. He is known to have belonged to right-wing Francoist parties in his youth and Hustlin a real, Madrid fan. He is a controversial figure in Spain
Come on now! It's widely recognized throughout Europe that Real Madrid was Franco's way of showcasing Spain's football prowess and asserting his superiority over all others at that time of history. So, if we're being objective, like a true reporter should be, your take on this subject falls short, Tinashe. A genuine reporter would present the facts, but you seem to have sidestepped them. I genuinely hope your channel thrives even more (you deserve it), and I'm glad I stumbled upon your content. Have a fantastic day, Tinashe.😀
I like the way you talk about Barça with respect. They are one of the best teams in the world and it is insane the lots of anti-Barça propaganda you can see in Spain's news and media. Real Madrid is a team of such tradition that they all hated it when a team from an independist state took in all the spotlight with its beautiful football. Not to be rude to Madrid fans but it's the truth. Referees have stopped Barça from legally winning titles many times, even more before VAR came in. But even in times of VAR they managed to do amazing things like not marking that hand from Fred at Camp Nou as penalty.

Just wanted to add, the Negreira case all but lost steam after the prosecutors said that they had seen zero evidence that Barca paid to have refs favour them. Further to that, Barca provided substantial evidence proving that they indeed got reports that were given to them by Negreiras son, who run the company that Negreira owned. I realise that even if Barca didn't bribe refs, ethically what they did between 2013 and 2018 (the period during which Negreira served as V.P of the refs committee) is reprehensible and I wish that all the people who led to this debacle can be brought to book. Having said that, listing off all the titles Barca won between 2001-2018 so as to question the credibility of those achievements based on accusations that the authorities have themselves called baseless is at best careless and at worst disingenuous of you. If you'd like to hear in full detail about the Negreira case, including why it was more of a smear campaign that preyed on the terrible management that the club had been under, I'd be more than happy to share with you the facts around the story, including the ones that news agencies actively chose to not publish.
I don't appreciate the fear-mongering surrounding the Negreira case. It was fairly monumental when it came up, but the more information we've gotten about it - including the little detail that the Catalan prosecutor's office which brought the case up stating that it's a nothing burger - and Laporta in a press conference literally showing the technical reports they received, the less prominence it holds. Also 7 million over 18 years is not that much money. Out of all the shit slinging I've seen, this Negreira bullshit is the most malicious. We can apparently accuse any club of cheating, and it's impossible to prove a negative, since that's not how law enforcement works, so I guess everyone's cheating.
Catalunya was the area of Spain that suffered the most with the civil war. FC Barcelona would never be beneficiated by the state because they never accepted Generalissimo Franco as the lider of the country. The president of Barcelona during the civil war was assassinated by Franco troops after they arrested him in 1936. His name Josep Sunyol. How could a club as FC Barcelona, with the history they have of supporting independence from Spain, be beneficiated by a state they always hated? Don’t forget Catalonia was briefly an atheist communist state which massacred hundreds of thousands of people simply for being Catholic or supporting Spain

@@Bluespark-v9x Yes they have to. It is what they did when Franco was the dictator. Stealing Stefano, Not allowing Barca to name their stadium "Joan Gamper", Barca players were cut out from highlights whenever they scored goals for Spain, installing a puppet government in Barca board to halt the progress of the club, suppression of Catalinya, Johan Cruyff stopped from naming his son "Jordi". And countless many other things. It still reflects today. Everyone in Spain likes Real even if they do not support them, Barca are the villains or outsiders since the Catalans wanted their own independent state. An ex LaLiga ref said that 90% of Referees are Madrid fans. The media is in Madrid's hand that is why when Barca were suspected to have paid the refs the media reported on it like crazy and said that Barca could get suspended from CL, even LaLiga's president joined the agenda. Will that ever happen in the PL, will they themselves try to sabotage their leagues biggest club? When no proof was found, no media coverage whatsoever. This is the reason why Barca has a bad image outside of Spain as the Spainish media is constantly bashing and trying to defame Barca ever since they got better than Real. Although the political tensions are not really as high as it was in the last century. The tensions are not even noticeable.
This is the end of a dynasty, and they need to start rebuilding. This could go very wrong for them if they’re not careful.
@@diadiecisse3089 There was possibly a lot of trolling in there, but Bayern was always called FC Hollywood. So it's was never drama, but being in the news.
The firing of Khan and Brazzo would have happened regardless Bayern winning he Bundesliga and probably justifiably so.
@@texenna Yes, but most German clubs are solid. In this case with firing their CEO and sporting director, I still don't see drama, but creating news. Both are also limited in regard of he factual powers behind them.
@@schadelharry4048 as Texenna mentioned, I’ve always had this perfectly managed club image of Bayern as a foreigner. I’m pretty sure anyone not from Germany did as well. I guess you learn something new every day. But sacking their coach mid season and their directors minutes after winning the league title? That’s not very far from psg type of drama, and I can’t remember the last time I had seen anything similar at Bayern.

GREAT FRANCO the honorary member of Barcelona who saved Barcelona from bankruptcy more than once!
So it's foolish for you to come out and say "fRaNcO hELpEd bArCA sO tHeY aRe HIs tEaM", that is ignorant and the logic of a 4 year old.
But players like Kante and Amrabat? Nah. I don't mean to be rude but I would recommend studying Barca's style of football. It's beautiful and you'll fall in love with the club even more.
Then again, I hope I wasn't rude.

Yeah
stop the cap darling, yall need to wait another 2,3 years to see if barkalona will do something, dominating my ass, overhyping everything before the start even, pathetic fanbase for real
Dest was trash, no one cares how Xavi handled him. He was a flop.
I have been following this club since 2013 and is my favorite club. This club is a roller-coaster. What I like about this club, is that this club feels like a family and have players who respect and are dedicated to this club. If only united had such culture.
where was that respect when the club throwed david villa just bcs lionel fraud complained about him, and that's one exemple about their players. Or paying one fraud 500 millions in 3 seasons just to get clapped in every ucl ever since 2015 fighting with pep 12,13 years ago and didnt wanted to play for couple of games, while or players were forced to play arround/for midget, that's why players like coutinho or griezmann didnt worked out

These economic things I feel are so complex that I'll leave them to the economists lol, I'll just see and enjoy the results😂
Lmao innocent? Calunia is really an island 😂
@@LexWil7 Innocent on buying referees yes, so innocent on legal matters. Obviously if that were the case and proven that the payments were just for referee reports, it still wouldn't be ethical, but it would be legal, and therefore Barça would be innocent

He did some good things but overall he reached his limit and he couldn’t take the team any farther.
yes he literally set the ground works for the current team, specially with the youth players and involving them more often with the first team.

I love your Barça videos so, so much.
Know your history first and then make your conclusions.
Don’t forget Catalonia was briefly an atheist communist state which massacred hundreds of thousands of people simply for being Catholic or supporting Spain

Barca is Real Madrid’s little brother. They don’t need to do smear campaigns against them.
@@Bluespark-v9x then why are they doing it?
How ?
@@lexkanyima2195 how what? If you mean how could they have won 3 titles this year, if you watch their matches all season in all competitions, they had 7 draws and 3 losses while Nagelsman was there. I'm almost certain they were all in the league and they were just barely in second place at the time of his being fired. The fact that they beat Barcelona, Inter and Paris twice a piece and gave up zero goals to all of them and the fact that they got better and better in the Champions League as the season went on is how they could've taken it. They had no losses in the UCL and the second match against Paris was by far the best match I've seen and the most professional and the best sportsmanship from both teams, but Bayern was on fire, until. Until Tuchel took over, they were the team to beat in the Bundesliga and the UCL and the DFB Pokal. Once Tuchel took over, they killed Dortmund, and then fell off. They lost out of the DFB QF, they lost the first match against City, gave up more goals in that match than in the entire UCL season the only goals they gave up were against Plzeň in a 4-2 win for Bayern. They lost the first leg against City and drew the second leg and we're out on aggregate. It was terrible. Then they even almost lost the league title. Came down to the last match of the season. Mind you, it's not Tuchel's fault. He blame lies with Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidžić which explains their immediate firing right after the league was won. Kahn wasn't even allowed to attend the match and Salihamidžić got fired before they even left the celebration on the field lol. They wanted Tuchel for next season and Nagelsman's contract expired this summer, but instead of waiting, they blew the season and almost the league by making that drastic change with 2 months left of the season.
this is why punited is small

Alternative title : FC Barcelona the most chaotic robbers in Europe
We will see next season them getting better i guess, but they didn't deserve it after all of this corruption
Football isn't healthy competition anymore
one of the most confusing video for me.
7million paid across 18 seasons.
Real Madrid tryna make Barça look bad by saying Franco helped us 😂 bro that just makes me even more proud to be a Barcelona fan 💀😂
The Liga celebration was (and is) because we were on a down run at the speed of light, with Koeman...9th in the league...it looked as if we were not going to play a continental tournament.
