    These people look exactly like you'd expect Guardian writers to look.

    ...Well it all depends on whether you have domestic Haggis or wild Haggis there - Personally I never could abide the farmed stuff.

    “It tastes like it’s been out in the wild”. The haggis hunt was fruitful that year 🤣🤣🤣

    Whatever that was looked nothing like haggis. This American actually ate and enjoyed haggis in Scotland, where you can get authentic haggis.

    I just had haggis for the first time in Edinburgh and it was DELICIOUS! I don't know what happened in this video, but I can't imagine having these reactions to what I had.

    Did he say “Halal stands” ?
    What the hell does that mean?
    So unbelievably ignorant.
    No surprises coming from the “guardian”
    More like gatekeepers and peddler’s of lies.

    I think it would be your friends over in Scotland, not England, who may have asked you to try haggis - even the Scots would want you to be accurate on that point and certainly the English.The late Scottish comedian, Jimmy Logan, once said, ‘To those who don’t know what a haggis is, it looks a bit like a football but you don’t kick it, you eat it - but when you’ve eaten it, you wish you’d kicked it.’

    Bless the yanks... probably a shock to their system to eat something that's not covered or cooked in sugar.

    I just ate a plate of haggis for my dinner tonight. It was tinned stuff so not as good as the stuff out of the butchers but it was still magic. The haggis in the video looked a bit dry.

      +Ben Carr just because its illegal doesn't mean you cant eat it.
      Its illegal to produce it but not buy it from other places.

  • @jordanmcinroy8427
    @jordanmcinroy8427 8 років тому +2

    kinda looks different. it might not have the lung in it as from what iv'e heard the US has something against using sheeps lung in food products.
    love haggis, eat it all the time. top tip is haggis and cheese in a panini.

    That looks absolutely nothing like any haggis I've ever seen. Also, to clarify, Scottish people don't regularly eat haggis. I'd have this once a year (if that) and that would be on Burn's Day.

    Nah, not accepting this. They should have had it as part of a meal without knowing it's "this weird Scottish offal thing, which is really inedible". If you eat sausages, you will eat haggis, no problems. I mean, American standard hotdog is filled with more vile things and if you were fed that without skin and toppings and bread; the pink mush, and told what it is REALLY made of, people would say it's gross and disgusting and turn their noses. That I'd like to see... tell a bunch of people who love hotdogs that they are going to eat some traditional Albanian food. "The National Hot Dog & Sausage Council (NHDSC) notes that hot dogs, whether regular, turkey, pork or beef, begin with "trimmings." "lower-grade muscle trimmings, fatty tissues, head meat, animal feet, animal skin, blood, liver and other edible slaughter by-products.""

    • @SumDumGai5
      @SumDumGai5 4 роки тому

      Haggis is not hot dog. Hot dogs are actually good.

    This doesn't look anything like the haggis I had in Scotland. What I had was delicious and resembled ground beef in texture but had a savory creamyness to it as well. It was not gamey or smelly and any oats or barley that were in it was just to bind and did not stand out as a separate ingredient. Try again.

    After watching an episode of "Fugget about it" I heard about this dish that's actually prepared in a 🐑 sheeps stomach so I had to google to find out more about Hagis (spelling) and of course Wikipedia helped explained and then I went to pictures of it and there is no way I would try this. I can't even deer or lamb chops or goat. My husband loves that stuff. Hmmm now I wonder if he would try this??? (Sorry for the ramble.)
