- In this video I explain some of the similarities and differences between the two coastal cities Da Nang and Nha Trang here in Vietnam. Hopefully this information can help you when it comes to deciding where to visit short term or live longer term if you are thinking about coming to Vietnam.
Cheers, Tyler

Nha Trang for the weather. Da Nang for a bigger city and diversity
That's a fair statement
Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks 😊
Glad I could help!
Da Nang is a real city while Nha Trang is a mega tourist center. However for beaches and weather, Nha Trang is way better.
I was in Danang in early August and it was 37c daily with no cloud, i love my heat but this was a joke it was that hot, walking into the ocean felt like a warm Bath
You are correct about how the seasons change dramatically as whe I was looking at the weather around Vietnam, some places was 24c and Rainy
Going back to Thailand 32c felt cool after Vietnam
I believe it man I bet summer out here in Vietnam is no joke. Ho Chi Minh was low 90's everyday in November and December, so I can only imagine May through August. Appreciate the comment. Thanks for watching and supporting!
if you are having a heart of teaching others...please embrace "the culture, the weather, the people..." that are different...
don't think that you are American...and act like you are above everyone else...just be kind...embracing differences...respect, be humble...enjoy the moment...be flexible...
I am very curious about Thailand. However I wouldn't agree with the cost part of this comment. Every single person I have spoken with that has been to both Vietnam and Thailand have said Vietnam is cheaper. Regardless I am sure Thailand is amazing. Thanks for supporting my channel and commenting. @tranduy2668
It was perfect when I was there for the full month of March, almost a bit cool at night
Great video and information
Thank you for watching and supporting!
I hope everything’s going well for you Tyler ❤ wishing you all the best
Much appreciated friend!
He is waving his hands just trying to say Hi to you, Tyler !!!
LOL yes
Great video insight Tyler thanks for sharing! Even though Ill be leaving for Korea in 2 weeks to teach English for 1 year, I defiantly plan on visiting Vietnam one day for work or travel! Helpful guide indeed!
Good luck in Korea Jamie. That will be an amazing experience. Yes come to Vietnam to experience it for sure! Have blast in Korea and soak up the experience!
Thanks so much man! Are you also teaching English abroad too?@@tylerowenfit
I got my TEFL certification abroad and taught a few classes, but have not signed with a company. I am getting my personal training certificate to train clients in the fitness industry back in America at the moment. @@jamierudberg4843
In term of the beaches and islands more clear water Nha Trang is definitely a winner, Da Nang is a big city and night life is much better, more activities than Nha Trang, you will never go wrong with both cities.
This is a spot on accurate statement. I totally agree. Especially the clear blue water out here in Nha Trang.
So cool! Loving it! Which city (Da Nang or Nha Trang) has more walking distance feel like if you choose to live near the beach you can easily walk to the center/shopping without relying on public transport? We don't want to rent a car, but also we love walking/hiking long distances. Also, which city offers more things like nice parks, cute little streets etc etc thanks a lot! P.S. also, in connection to safety, do you feel perfectly safe walking after sunset, with your phone etc?
With walkability both cities are the same. The main parts of each city are less than 100 meters from the beach, so you can easily walk anywhere withing the major cities for shopping, food, or whatever else you want to do as a tourist. I would recommend Nha Trang for nice parks. Both have nice side streets. Safety is not an issue in either spots. It's not like America or London or anywhere like that. Crime doesn't exist. It's just not a part of their culture. The only thing you should be cautious of any way being a tourist or not is keeping your phone close to you at all times. Don't give any body the benefit of the doubt to leave your belongings anywhere. Of course there is petty theft anywhere in the world but the ghettos in Vietnam are safer than the suburban spots in America. You will have to be there in person to understand the difference in cultures. Thanks for supporting the channel.

Hey what's up Tyler! I'm from Kissimmee, FL and I'm planning my trip to Vietnam next month. I really enjoy surfing and was wondering which has better waves? Da Nang or Nha Trang? Better night life? Any suggestions?
I would have to agree with Tranduy on this one. The weather was terrible in Da Nange the entire time I was there. It literally rained for 2 weeks straight with the sun coming out less than 5 times.
I have been in Nha Trang now for 3 weeks and it's very comparable to Florida bro. I was in Orlando for 3 years and the two are pretty much the same. Sunny, but in Nha Trang it hasn't actually rained once. Just a sprinkle here and there for 5 minutes.
Waves I have seen here in Nha Trang are also Slightly bigger than Da Nang. Both spots have a lot more wave activity than cocoa beach where I have been in Florida. The waves are real here in Vietnam from what I have seen and consistent. But I have never surfed before so take that for what it's worth.
As for night life I don't go out bro so I realistically wouldn't know. But BOTH are straight up tourist capitals, so either will have great night life I can garauntee that.
Bro Nha Trang is where it's at. Do more research on both but if I had to pick a spot to stay long term it would be Nha Trang.
@tylerowenlive Hey thanks for the info bro. I definitely appreciate it! I've been watching many travel videos on both cities, and keeping a close eye on the weather. Da Nang looks like it definitely has some pretty good weather this time of year. Forecast has been calling for mid 80's and sunny 🌞 all week. Maybe you were there during rainy 🌧 season? I read that Central Vietnam's rainy season is Sept-Jan, and their dry season is Mar-May.
I just applied for a 90 day visa, so I'll probably check out Da Nang 1st, and then head over to Nha Trang if the weather turns to sh*t.
It's funny you mentioned Cocoa Beach. That's where I always used to surf. Usually near the Pier or 2nd light by Patrick's AFB. Anyways, I should be in Da Nang in the next week or so. Thanks for the heads up, and keep up the good work man! Maybe we could meet up sometime when I'm in Nha Trang? Us Florida Crackers gotta stick together. lol.
@tranduy2668 Thanks for the info! It's looking like dry season is starting in Da Nang this time of year, so I'll probably visit there 1st. Then I was planning on checking out Nha Trang. They both look like really awesome places to visit. I definitely like the view of the mountains from the beach in Nha Trang. 👍🏼
Both will be great if it's your first time in Vietnam bro. The only reason I was in Da Nang is because I was unaware of the other locations along the coast that offered quality of living. Da Nang is just heavily marketed to the American people for tourism purposes, but keep your options open because there are so many other places. Have fun bro. @@JonesysJourney
Phan Thiet - Mui Ne is very cool!!!
If I ever get the chance I will visit. Thank you for watching and supporting!
Awesome vid! What's the situation with rats, someone mentioned a lot of the them in coastal towns in Vietnam. Have you seen any in the buildings? Any other "wild animals" to be aware of?
Thanks for watching and supporting!
Yeah rats are just a normal thing here. Whoever told you that is spot on. If you are walking in the streets you will see rats everyday garaunteed. Not So much in accomidation, but rats are just normal and you get used to seeing them. Where I am from in America rabbits are everywhere. Here it's rats.
As for other animals there are stray dogs everywhere you go. That's just a part of their culture. Stray dogs have a strong presence in Vietnam. They are all domesticated for the most part though beucase they are just integrated into the sociaty and are used to people. So they aren't anything to fear. Just the occasional barking at you but they don't really have the drive to attack you.
Stray cats/kittens everywhere too. Other than that I haven't see any wild animals really. Just lizards like any other tropical climate. But lizards are the good guys they eat the bugs.
@@tylerowenfit thank you so much for your detailed explanation! Loving and recommending your videos! Which months would you say are best for Da Nang and which ones are for Nha Trang? Say, if to come in February, which city is better to visit first? To enjoy the beach without too much wet)) Thanks!
Thank you so much for your support it means a lot!
As for Feburary all I can go off of is my past experience in Da Nang in late December- early Janurary and my experience here in Nha Trang early January until the current time period.
I would recommend Nha Trang hands down. In Da Nang it was raining every single day and the sun came out maybe five times total within 20 days.
In Nha Trang it is the exact opposite. The sun is out every single day. Warm weather without the summer heat and it has only sprinkled with rain maybe twice in 20 days and it stopped within 10 minutes. Nha Trang all the way. @@ZhizniEyeTayni
@@tylerowenfit awesome! Thanks!
Of course. @@ZhizniEyeTayni
How would you describe the cities generally on heat and humidity? Do people have to live 24/7 with air conditioning even when it isn't the summer? And can a person live in a nice place without being in a huge high rise?
Heat and Humidity vary depending on your individual tollerance to them. I am coming from Florida, so the heat and humidity are fine to me. I was also not here during the summer so I am sure it ramps up quite a bit during the hotter months. If you are coming from a cold climate the heat and humidity will be a lot for you most likely.
As for air conditioning yes most people run the AC every single day even when it is not summer. You won't ever go into someone's place of business or home and not see the AC running. That's just a part of living here. It would be the same as having heat in a constantly cold environment.
@@tylerowenfit I assume the electrical grid is solid and can handle 24/7 air conditioners in the city. I guess an AC that runs 24/7 expires faster than our AC in Canada! Plus so much humidity would wear a person out pretty fast.....even in a beautiful place like Nha Trang or Hoi An!
@@dovygoodguy1296 Correct. No need to worry about AC going out. Electricity grid doesn't look as pretty with wiring as Canada or the USA but it is reliable.
I like Da Nang❤
Both spots are great.
i just sent the link...of 2 American are living in Viet Nam currently...
Thank you for sharing. It's a pretty accurate video I would agree with
2weeks since your last video.
Where you been man? Everything okay?
I dig the username bro. I'm all good just sturyinig for my CPT focussing more on that right now.
I dig the username bro. I'm all good just sturyinig for my CPT focussing more on that right now.
they both said ""Thai Land is more humidity...and w fake business smiling...""
Depends on which part of each country you are in for sure.
The Best is Nhatrang
I agree. Nha Trang is a fantastic place. My favorite in Vietnam thus far.
Can I ask, why would you choose Nha Trang over Da Nang? Mostly because of the better weather in a winter or any other reason?@@tylerowenfit
@@celebs.secrets-best.movies It was raining the entire time I was in Da Nang and Sunny the entire time I was in Nha Trang. Also Nha Trang just had a better energy to it in my personal experience.
