I was stationed on Phu Quoc, the village of Doung Dong, in 1968 when I was in the Air Force. Loved it. I’ve been back to Vietnam (Vietnam Nam) several times in the 1990’s. In HCMC (Saigon), Hanoi, DaNang, Hoi An. A wonderful place with wonderful people. Highly recommended.
It’s so sad how empty a lot of those places are. Not sure what they were thinking when they kept building them all over Vietnam. I mean, the US has more than 3x the population, yet we only have 1 Disney World and 1 Disney Land. With that being said, it looks like a nice place. The ice cream shop is adorable! Love that bamboo architecture and all the local goods for sale.
What to do in Phu Quoc for one day? Phu Quoc today is truly beautiful and has many great changes.
Hi, thank you for another beautiful video. I was in Phu Quoc for 3 days in December. We stayed on the western side, near the incredible Dinh Cau Temple. We loved that area. One day we drove up to the north for some Spearfishing and passed Vin World. I was shocked by it. It struck me as an oversized Las Vegas, but with most of the buildings empty. I’m concerned that like other resorts around the world it will give visitors a false sense of being in Vietnam, and worse that the effect on local businesses and people will be severe if all the tourists skip staying in the local communities. I love Vietnam and its people and I want to see all of them prosper, I just hope they don’t over develop the ‘party’ atmosphere I saw popping up everywhere and leave the locals behind.
niceof you to think about local people...
@@Tathlon1 thank you
you should have been there back around 2010. I also lived there from 2016-2018 but I haven't returned since. maybe they've cleaned it up since 2018, but the whole island (outside of the high end resort enclaves) was a filthy cesspool.
Bất cứ những gì mà được làm nên bởi vật liệu địa phương là những ý kiến có tính ý thức cao của dân tộc tính. ❤❤❤
I'm currently in Cambodia and thinking about going over to this island. I was in Vietnam in 1990 and 1998. Good times. Thanx 4 the vid.😊
Hi was Cambodia? Comparing to Vietnam? I’m currently in south Vietnam, started all the way up north and now thinking if I go to Cambodia or if I stay in the country and go to Phu Quoc.

Good video! However, for anyone going to Phu Quoc, I highly recommend Long Beach or Ong Lang area. Grand World is depressing and has ZERO island vibes.

In 2023 I visited Vietnam 3 times but only stayed in Ho Chi Ming city. I'm looking forward to going again in 2024. 😁
One of the best resorts and customer service i have experienced was at New World Phu Quoc and Phu Quoc beer is soo easy to drink. Shame they don't export it out of the island.
