Dragon Age & Mass Effect are respectfully mature games intended for a mature audience, my content will feature such themes, so please be aware of that when watching. Thanks! - Ігри
I cannot WAIT to get to play this. It's been ALMOST TEN YEARS at this point. I miss Thedas so much. EXCELLENT video, Jack, as always!!
Thanks a ton! I honestly can't wait to here more from BW this year, I'm hopeful for a gameplay trailer this time!
I've been looking forward to this as well. You think we'll see it within the next year?
@@redneck1st555 If you mean within 2023, no, that's been unlikely for a while now. The earliest we'll see the game is 2024, but that's even not set in stone yet.

Here's for hoping to get a gameplay or even just another trailer. Remember how they presented the characters for inquisition? Something like that would be cool.
seriously, I cannot wait for the characters. I wish they'd release some more concept art, of companions ideally. Even if their design isn't 100% set in stone yet maybe, I wish we'd get more glimpses of them, and later on videos like in Inquisition. That's the teases I'm desperate for.
Totally agree I mean yeah it’s bean many years now and some has to do with the pandemic and bad leadership ideas but it seems they really overcame this and I personally can wait till 2024 easily I just really want and need some more news like some pics of creatures, companions etc i personally still hope for a female crow, a female qunari, a grey warden and some badass male mage
One thing I noticed for people who were worried about all of the people leaving the team, most were around the 18-20 year mark with the company. It's not uncommon for people to want to retire or move on to new things after 18+ years. I choose to be hopeful that the game wasn't affected by the announcements as the company likely knew of the departures long before they announced it to the public.
Thing is that the people leaving were randoms that wouldn't affect the project, they were BIG members, if not CORE. Members that, by leaving, they're also leaving a big hole behind that has to be filled before they can even continue, let alone the fact that the replacement could have different ideas or not understand the ideas left behind.
Nah, people don't usually move amidst a tripple A project they've worked on for years. Unless there is a damn good reason.
But so many in such a short period of time? It sounds like it was likely caused by an incredible number of internal issues, and not people's personal careers. Don't give that kind of faith to companies like EA if you don't want to be let down nine times out of ten
I don’t think it’s necessarily negative either. DA:O and Mass Effect are super old games. I wouldn’t doubt it if the newbies grew up playing and loving the old games and wanting to recreate the magic they felt. Not certain, but certainly a possibility.
At this point I do wish they completely remastered Dragon Age: Origins - Dragon Age 2 - Dragon Age: Inquisition and put them together in a Legendary type release. This would help us with the waiting on this game, haha. I keep replaying them, and it would be nice to have updated graphics/textures in the older games especially.
Been waiting 8 years for this while replaying all 3 games multiple times😭
Same!!
I wanna replay them again but I've done literally everything I can in them, sad
Waiting 5 years for this game has taught me patience 😂
Massive same!!
its been 8 years since trespasser
@@JordanJumpin not everyone was part of the da fandom when inquisition released
8 years Aware
Been playing the series since Origins got released. They better make Dreadwolf good because this game is a big part of my childhood and i literally grew up with it.
I'm really hoping we get a trailer this year and a release date but since we didn't get that much last year I don't think it's going to happen...I just want something substantial to talk about and think about while I'm waiting for the game to release.
I actually think there’s a huge chance we’re getting proper trailer(s) and a release date this year, although I don’t think the game itself will actually release this year. I’m betting for early 2024
I'm honestly tired of waiting, i get taking time for games but we've been waiting a decade and have almost nothing about the game. Release something, concept art of companions, a weapon, a animal, literally anything 😭between this, fallout and elder scrolls being my favorite series I won't get to play one of them until I graduate lawschool 🤣
I really REALLY like the idea of origin stories coming back for this game! I do hope that’s true but for some reason, I feel like they’re gonna do another “set” character like hawk, where you can only customise them so much but otherwise, everything else about them is pretty much set in stone.
in the leaked footage, you could see your charachters name and as a subtitle ''gray warden'' so thats either a class (unlikely), a subclass, or a charachter background, heres hoping its the latter, and that dwarves get the same treatment than i origins lol i love dwarfs
I hope it comes out no later than late 2024, because by November next year, it will have been officially 10 years, which hurts that we’ve waited sooooo long.
I would be more amazed that turns out to be even a good game. As a former huge BW fan of old days I would love to be shocked that they can recapture the old games. I miss those type of games greatly. And BG3 is shaping up to be my first type of game like old BW that I been missing for a decade.
I felt the same way about fallout after 76 and 4 and thought I'd never get that feeling again and then I found Wasteland series.
And as huge DAO fan I feel this with DA too but haven't found anything to fill that void
@@hugofaria9881 have you tried Divinity Original Sin 2?
@@r1ckNz played the first one and liked it, wasn't blown away but had fun and played a couple hours of 2 but kept getting sidetracked by other games tbh
@@hugofaria9881 I would really recommend looking at BG3 it really is shaping up to be a very good game similar to what BW use to give us.
@@hugofaria9881 I think the second game is light years ahead of the first one. It's a true gem and easily one of the best games I played in the last 10 years. And Baldur's Gate 3 is coming up even better than it...
I started this series when i was in middle school and now i'm almost 20 years old, and despite the time that as passed I always loved this game from the deep of my heart, I really hope that DA:D would be as good as they predecessor
I’m in the same boat! Got into Dragon Age when I was in the middle of school, and now I’ll be 21 this year!
I still find that skill tree diagram so interesting. The possibilities! It's looks much more customizable than in the previous games, and I am HERE for it!
A great roundup!
I think we’re all eager for this long wait to finally come to an end. Let’s hope for a big start to the marketing push at EA Play!
Thank you for keeping the updates coming on this title, I've been a long time player since dragon age origins and the original mass effect came out. Really hope this is the best one yet and turns Bioware into a top RPG studio again.
Another great video! I love these recaps/info dumps. I'm so excited for this game...After how the last one ended I NEED to know how this continues. I'm really hoping we get something larger and more tangible this year...if I'm being honest...these crumbs are nice and I'm always excited when one drops, but I'm starting to feel a bit of fatigue just from waiting so long. If we could have something like a trailer or something showing NEW things instead of just more of what we already know, I'm sure that fatigue would burn away to ashes in Andraste's flames. XD
Every time you release a video I watch and it's just a pure adrenaline rush. I fucking love dragon age and am so nervous but excited for this release. AHHHHH!
Hi Jackdaw, thank you for keeping our impatience fed. This is the best PR ever.
Glad you enjoy it!
I am a massive fan of DA and it is by far my favourite game series. I used to be really involved in the fandom but so much time has passed since the Inquisition DLCs and my life has become so much busier since then that I just don’t have the time anymore. As such, I can’t tell you how useful your videos are. You’ve summarised years of development news that I’ve missed, so I can feel like I still know what’s going on in a tiny fraction of the time. Thank you for all you do. ❤
So da4 went through a development Rollercoaster with being chucked in development limbo twice now. Finally those calling the shots managed to get their shit together and we might feasibly see it this or next year. The amount of changes it underwent may be reflected in the plot as the world faces dramatic changes with the absence of blighted magisters, Solas identity revealed and the alien future that Thedas faces.
I’m so looking forward to this! I hope it’s as good as they’re hyping it up to be
I can barely wait for this game. Hopefully they have something like the dragon Age keep come back because I have more than a few inquisitors that took the game a whole bunch of different directions. Also I want that tevinter chantry hammer. That looks like so much fun to hit people with!
Next Bioware fantasy trilogy: 'Never Tervinter Nights' :D
I know I probably shouldn’t be… but I’m optimistic we’ll see a trailer this summer during EA Play. This could honestly just lead to disappointment but I can’t help myself, keeping fingers, toes and everything crossed.
If we don't see anything at all it will kill my hype for game 100%, they're keeping us wayyy to starved for this
@@The-Policy-Puls Ngl my optimism has died down a lot since EA’s earnings report didn’t mention Dragon Age at all, suggesting the game won’t release until April 2024 at the earliest. We out here starving and BioWare won’t even throw us a crumb…
Thanks for the update, Jackdaw! I always enjoy your take on things. I'm a little worried about the Hack & Slash element. I really miss the DAO combat system. The way you could set up your companions' combat abilities was exactly the kind of micro managing I enjoy in a game. Damn, I miss that combat wheel! Being able to access all of your abilities in combat is so much better than only being able to acces 8.
Honestly the only thing I'm truly bummed out about is Trevor Morris not coming back. His soundtrack made so many Inquisition moments uniquely memorable and I hope Zimmer or whoever is working under him can give us something even half as beautiful as the Lost Elf Theme
Hans Zimmer is pretty amazing. He’s responsible for the music of the Dark knight trilogy, inception and many others.
Zimmer is a great composer, but I feel like Morris' score for Inquisition had a really unique sound and feel to it that helped it stand out from all the other fantasy schlock. It'll be sad to lose that for Dreadwolf. Not to say I'm not confident Zimmer will deliver, just that it'll be different.
@@No_Plays_Hand_Empty that’s true Morris’ work was amazing and unique for inquisition. Man i just hope we get to hear the score soon since we haven’t received any update for dreadwolf in a long time.
6 months for Beta it could still come out Q4 2023. I really wish they would give us an update, I need to know how to budget my vacation time, should I take time off for Burning Shores and Jedi Survivor, or should I save it for Dreadwolf...
Just finished a new DAI play through. About ready to boot up a new Origins play through. Only way to wait!
I never heard of this, but I cannot wait for dragonage origins remastered 🤗
I hope that happens
I've been patiently waiting for this been playing inquisition too get the juices flowing again jumping back into the story and world 😩🌎
Sometimes I regret that I made my passion in life Dragon Age, and not Assassin’s Creed. Then at least I wouldn’t have to wait 10 years between titles. 😭
This was a nice trip down memory lane. Though I didn't see the departure of the project's animation director in June 2023 as part of the recap ;)
Thanks so much for watching and sorry I missed you out Mike! I've definitely mentioned your departure in a previous video, but I'll amend my script for the next time I do a recap like this as your departure was equally important! :D
Can't wait to play this game and as a Mage Elf again for consistency XD
I can't believe that i lived through all this and more 😮, since the release of DA2, it makes me feel old 😓
I doubt Hans Zimmer himself is doing the DA4 soundtrack. It's more likely that it's going to be scored by one of the guys at his company, hence the "and co." in Trever Morris's tweet.
I can't wait to see this game, but I'm hesitant. Like this video shows there's been a lot of behind the scene's shifts and drama (which we know from Andromeda isn't a good sign) which combined with the lack of actual shown gameplay, but everyone saying that 'It's the BEST DA game EVAAAHH' and how we shouldn't worry doesn't give me much hope.
I haven't pre-ordered because of it and I really do hope I'm wrong and the team was right, but honestly this feels so much like Andromeda and Anthem that I do worry.
Exactly. How many times were we hyped out of our minds only to be severely disappointed?
I didn't even realize you can pre-order already if they are already selling it without showing gameplay its easy to see they have zero hope for this.
@Win32Neptunia I feel like we all forget thst bioware didn't make dragon age a handful of really passionate people working there did and once those people were gone the series was too but we were all to blinded to want to see it
Man, everytime I think about the release my heart races. I’m so excited for this game. I hold Varric very close to my heart, so the fact that he’s possibly a main role in the gamd makes me so happy. Come on BioWare!!!🎉
All these departures from the company still has me concerned.
Yeah it’s just so many people. But I also noticed that they tended to leave at big production milestones, so like they did care about the game and left when their part was done.
@@joeywild2011 I would consider that an even bigger red flag. If they leave after making huge progress in the game, it leads me to believe that there is some sort of internal disagreement. This is supported by the fact that some of the developers actually had to fight to keep this game single player. Makes me think that they were originally trying to make a live service game similar to destiny
I can't wait for the new game! It will without a doubt be a day one preorder no matter what for me. 🎉. I really hope it IS worth the wait and is a success.
Great coverage. Thanks. I anticipate this release excitedly.
You and me both!
Though i would love for the game to be released this year, beeing realistic i think 2024 is going to be the year
But also i think this year we are going to have the promotiom for it, like with trailers, gameplays, interwievs, etc like what we had for inquisition before it released
Given the timeline, it could be a March release again, similar to DAI.
I'm just hoping for a good story, and that Solas continues to be an intriguing and 3-D villain rather than what happened to Corypheus. I'm also hoping we get more Dorian and Mae.
It's a shame that Kennedy didn't contribute to DAD in the end. He can produce real gold when writing in darker themes and DAD should have plenty of opportunity for that.
They should release a character builder like they did for DA1. Just a little crumb to keep us going.
So you have not developed an invisibility cloak yet to sneak in and get look? Dang it. Anyway great video. Keep up the good work.
ahahah I wish!
It will be dreadfully poetic if this game gets released exactly ten years after Inquisition
Awesome video bro, thank You for all the info, can't wait for dreadwolf ❤, greetings from México, Big fan.
The release date is fairly simple to calculate. It's going to be November 18, 2024. That's the ten year anniversary of Inquisition's release.
Except that games don't release on special or historic dates, rather when it's optimal, when consider the current development stage, how crowded the release window is and some other factors. Look at previous DA releases.
If the game is ready for late 2023 or early 2024, they will not wait for late 2024.
Honestly feel like I can wait 100 years for the game to be outstanding and groundbreaking
I'm very excited to play this game when it finally comes out. I'm not trying to set my expectations too high because I don't want to be disappointed later. However, I'll stay optimistic.
I doubt studios like Bioware could trainwreck their game like cyberpunk 2077 clearly was.
i really hope my inquisitor plays a big role
It would be great if it were possible for executives to get fired for blatant mistakes.
Holy crap Hans Zimmer will be doing the music!!? “We’re not worthy! We’re not worthy!”
I didn’t realize that I have kept up so much with the game, and it’s thanks to your videos. ❤ Man oh man I can’t wait to play the game! And also thanks for covering Baldur’s Gate 3! Since it was announced for PS5, I am so excited to play it!
God I can't wait for the release, I want this to be a killer game so bad. Also hoping for a PC release in the future 👀
It’ll be cool if you could become a seeker in DA:D or have a specialization to become a blood made like they did in dragon age 2 I wonder why they took that out of DA:I and also I’m wondering you could have a female qunari in ur party, hopefully we can, because I’ve always wanted to romance another female qunari or female dwarf
Thank you for these update videos mate
Glad you like them!
I do hope that the game retains some of its core rpg elements. I will be really bummed if they ditch the tactical side of things. As much as I love games like GOW for their combat. Dragon Age should at least keep a little of its original identity.
Still the story sounds exciting. And Hans Zimmer doing the score is brilliant!
Looking at Diablo 4 keeping its old 2D camera I’m glad dreadwolf is going in a different direction and taking more inspiration from GOW or FF15
I very hope that dreadwolf will not end of franchise and it will not last game and we’ll see continue story of Thedas in future after Dreadwolf. Can’t imagine my life without Thedas and Dragon Age series
BioWare is playing the long game, wanting to be a launch title with the PS6 since they missed the opportunity to be a PS5 launch title…j/k, I’m hoping for sooner than later but at this point, I’ve accepted that I’ll just enjoy Jackdaw’s updates to maintain my optimism.
The skill tree alone gets me SUPER hyped. I can't wait to personalize my character's fighting style according to their character even more so than the last games.
While the significant staff turnover is worrying, I’m cautiously optimistic about what I’ve heard so far. From ditching the multi-player to the setting(s) and from the Hans Zimmer music to potentially one of the best antagonists in video games, this game appears be hitting on all cylinders (🤞). Just PLEASE don’t Cyberpunk us and rush a buggy, unfinished game to market. Hell, it’s been over eight years-if it needs to marinate six, seven, eight months longer to reach its peak, then so be it.
I hope they uphold the Bioware tradition of packing this game with references to other media/franchises 😊
Thank you so much ❤️
You’re welcome 😊
I watched a skit on fb yesterday regarding care homes for the elderly in 2077 - announcing elderscrolls 6 is finally here - and all I could think is 'yep, DA4 is going to be when I'm too old to play it' 😂😂 I hope it's soon, but I'm losing a lot of faith. Worried it will be really dumbed down to appeal to all, not just DA fans.
Dragon Age was for a good time my favorite game franchise, as I love it's narrative and lore and also some of its gameplay. But the time kept going without nothing and I just forgot about it until Absolution. After watching it, ran DAI again to replay the game and see if I could get into it again, but the leaks have really shown me it's going into a direction I wouldn't go. As much as I like the lore and the world, it's a game, and I don't think this new reported gameplay will do it for me.
They can promise the stars but none of it matters until they show us something.
All I can say is after10 years this game better exceed expectations. If it takes much longer there won't be anyone left who remembers how it all started.
I think we will get it anywhere between late 2023 to mid 2024, but I'm not going to complain about waiting either 😂
I still need to get my hands on a PS5 and life's expensive. Give me time to save up and I'll be happy!
Could you imagine if dragon age went multiplayer only? Thank god they turned it into a single player focused game.
I’m hoping for an update at E3 stating they are targeting a q2 2024 release
Kinda burned out on the endless trailers/teases/"leaks." Either give a release date or just keep working.
I hope that they do a better job with the gear system in the next game. I hated having to grind for hours looking for "fade touched" items without any real progress 😮💨
I like your optimism. The departures don't worry me. It's the length of time. It shouldn't take this long for a game to go from alpha to release. (it's been 6 months already). If we don't hear anything by ea play. I'm gonna give up on it.
The amount of people that left the project but were "confident" in the development is kind of suspicious.
To this day, I cannot help but wonder where Dragon Age would be if Bioware hadn't been forced to do Anthem...
I know speculating is pointless, but I hope releases before it's too late.
Will it come on pc????
So just curious will they still be releasing this game for PC still
At this point, it’s uncertain if they’re releasing this for console. 😂. Seriously, I think a PC version is highly likely considering the limited amount of effort going from Xbox.
I don't believe there is another Dragon Age!! I have heard this game for now 4 years and there was 3 release dates and it kept being moved!!
I'm starting to think winds of winter will come out before this game lol I'm excited but more tentatively. It's time for them to give us something more concrete like game play or at least glimpses of the other characters in the game besides Varric. It's time for them to put up or shut up IMO 🤷🏼♀️
I'm looking foward to Dreadwolf but I'm going to hate anything to do with Solas
Every time I see the word UX(user experience) all I can think of is a bunch of people taking something new and creative and making it into generic AAA gaming slop. That and lots of squares/triangles in the UI.
As long as they do not make it a live service game as well no multi-player.😊
Between gta 6 and dragon age ion know who taken they precious time more
Honestly I find this video extremely depressing, it drives home how incredibly mismanaged Bioware has been for the past decade and how we were deprived of Joplin which sounded way more interesting than whatever we're going to end up with now as the 3rd iteration of this game. If Anthem and Andromeda had never happened, we could have been playing Joplin 5 years ago
Its been a decade. Rats have left the sinking ship in droves. This does not bode well.. Note to DEV's - "People are mortal, you know..."
Project Joplin sounds like exactly my kind of game :( I wonder how much of that will make it into Dreadwolf. Honestly, thank god that Anthem was such a failure and that Fallen Order sold well, we may get a good DA game thanks to that, but after almost 10 years since the last one, despite adoring DA I cant say I care all that much anymore. I just dont want to be hyped and dissapointed later...
Its funny how all the developers leaving or coming are always sure of the amazing quality, of how great the characters and progress is, almost as tho they were instructed to say it by their contract or something :D
That all being said, I highly, very highly doubt we will see the game this year, id expect mid next year even, Bioware is second only to Bethesda in misshandling their IP releases now and yea, maybe its pointless to whine about it taking so long but seriously, if they managed their resources and direction better, we could have had two Dragon Age games out by now.
Not sure why I'm watching this still as I'm never going to play it as I don't have a ps5 too expensive and not keen on buying online incase it goes missing in post .
Never has a project seemed more cursed than this game. Everything constantly seems to go wrong.
I'm expecting a dumpster fire but hoping for a real BioWare game
Ooooooooooh 👀👀👀👀👀
👀👀👀👀👀
Early 2025 I reckon.
This didn’t age well. 10 years later. The game still isn’t out 🤣
No trevor morris 😢
Just to know shitty live service and multiplayer is out of the game I'm happy.
More evidence that Anthem was BW biggest L
I really hope Patrick Weeks will be less woke than David Gayder. Ah, who am I kidding...
FF 15 gameplay? That bothers me a lot
I'm so scared for this game it's set in an empire founded on slavery and the people developing it have shown a desire to want to seem progressive I'm really worried they are gonna get scared to make tevinter what it should be because of possible backlash and start changing lore like they did with daI
