Wow, until the stamp was fully lifted off the green fondant, I didn't think the 'Happy Birthday' would stick! Thank you for showing how this was done, and in real time.
Thank you so much for this video! May I ask how you roll out the fondant without it sticking to the rolling pin? I'm really really struggling with this thank you so much.
How do you get your fondant to stay in the plate when scraping off the extra? I powder the plate, press fondant into the design, and then use a scraper like yours to remove the excess. What I'm struggling with is that when I scrape the excess off, the fondant comes off with it!! Then I try and press it back into the plate and then the fondant sticks into the plate! HELP!! What am I doing wrong??
Hey Julie, not all stamps are the same, so I wouldn’t say you were doing anything wrong, it’s just finding the right knack for you. When I scrape mine, I push down at the same time. That tends to keep it in place for me most of the time x x
I always use cornflour on the stamp/inside the design however the fondant you wish to add the design to shouldn’t have any cornflour on it. This needs to be slightly tacky so it helps the design to stick to it x
You need to make sure that the back piece of fondant is not dry in texture or has cornflour on it. It needs to be slightly tacky, that slightly sticky paste you get when you knead and roll it. That will help what’s Inside the stamps stick to it x x
It honestly doesn’t work with every stamp. Some can be too thin in detail or be too intricate. Sometimes I have to try it a few times before the stamp decides to start playing ball x
The cornflour is used in muslin squares. Never use plain/normal flour as this should not be consumed unless cooked or treated. The alternative to cornflour would be icing sugar however I find this leaves surfaces sticky even after cleaning x
@@NautyLittleTreats I was told by another cookie/cake decorator that marshmallow fondant isn't stable enough. She suggested I add gum paste to the fondant mix (i mix marshmallow fondant with a small amount of pre-made satin ice fondant) but i'm still struggling. She said that the gum paste or the CMC powder are fondant stabilizers. Maybe that will work for someone else? I'm not sure if it is just technique for me, or....!?

My design doesnt come out and remains on the acrylic plate, how do you get it to stick on the fondant?
I always use cornflour on the stamp/inside the design however the fondant you wish to add the design to shouldn’t have any cornflour on it. This needs to be slightly tacky so it helps the design to stick to it x
Can you do this but with 3d printed stamps? I’ve tried so many times but can never get it to stick to the second piece of fondant.

Trued this lots but just couldn’t get it to work followed the steps wouldn’t come out of the embossed
It honestly doesn’t work with every stamp. Some can be too thin in detail or be too intricate. Sometimes I have to try it a few times before the stamp decides to start playing ball x
Love this tutorial!
What type of material are you using to dust the cornflour? Would it work with plain flour as well or is cornflour better?
The cornflour is used in muslin squares. Never use plain/normal flour as this should not be consumed unless cooked or treated. The alternative to cornflour would be icing sugar however I find this leaves surfaces sticky even after cleaning x
Whyas is the best fondant to use, im using marshmallows fondant, but sticks to it, doesn’t. Come out
The marshmallow one is fairly sticky. I find the standard Renshaw extra one best to use for this technique x
Literally came to see if anyone else was having this problem 🤦♀️ it’s doing my head in.
