To end out the wonderful year that was 2015, I bring you a final, much requested cover. I must admit, I have yet to fully playthrough this game (I promise I'll play it after this cover, Josh! XD), but, much like I was with Steven Universe, I covered the songs first, then fell head over heels in love with it xD I assume the same will happen with Undertale! I've heard many-a great things, and if this beautifully, heart-wrenching song is any indication of its quality, it might be one of my favorite stories ever. But onto the cover itself!! Because I hadn't played Undertale yet, I enlisted the help of my big bro to write some lyrics to this instrumental piece. And he did a FANTASTIC job, if I do say so myself :) He gave me some great material to work with. HUGE shout out to SevenUp for the GORGEOUS instrumental piece! This song basically saved my life 4 years ago. I was seriously contemplating suicide because I lost all my friends and felt like I was nothing. I saw this in my recommended even though I barely knew undertale at the time. I was filled with so much emotion, I ended up not committing suicide (well, I’m here today) and I just wanted to thank you. A video came up in my recommended recently that reminded me of this cover. Thank you so much Caleb. I know I’m not the only one you saved. Have a good day. :)

I'm glad you're here. :) My best friend sends me songs to communicate what she's going through. She was suicidal several years ago and we emailed every day since we were literally on opposite sides of the world at the time. She sent me this song after she survived a suicide attempt, because it reminded her of the conversations we had where I was trying to keep her hopeful and alive. Now we're both halfway through college, she's working towards a career as a professional therapist, and I was at her wedding a few weeks ago. For years, the point we're both at right now didn't feel remotely possible. We still text each other songs when we're having a rough day.
Things never get perfect, but they get better. They really do.
My friend passed away suddenly two years ago today. We played 'His Theme' at his funeral. He adored Undertale, this is beautiful. He would have loved it 💙

I stopped liking Undertale, because the fans got to be too insane. The emotion and everything in this song from you made me realize how much I love this game. It gave me real feelings and so did this song.

Yesterday was the first day in seven years since I first attempted that I've considered suicide to the extent of writing my last note and beginning to plan. I remembered this cover twenty minutes ago, and the well of emotion it would bring out of me. I've been listening to this on loop, messy-sobbing at my laptop. These lyrics hit me so much harder today than they did four and a half years ago. Caleb Hyles, I think you might have just saved a life
Just remember, someone loves you, and will be saddened if you go. People go through hard times and tougher moments. I got into Undertale a few years ago. Saw this song and many others. This was one of my favorites back then.
I have heard other songs and heard Caleb sing others since, and just came back to Undertale recently. This came up in my feed. Hearing it again, I can safely say this is not only one of my favorite Undertale songs but also one of my favorite songs sang by Caleb.
