Brujita it’s not; there are points where the lyrics match the melody because it makes sense musically, but there are also points where the lyrics do not fall on the melody, but harmonize or accentuate them. There are a lot of videos on UA-cam where people write lyrics to songs like this and only sing the melody without really thinking about it.

Just dug deeper and it was actually a collab that Lolia did that sprouted these lyrics
JustAn Enthusiast very cool, although my point wasn’t about who wrote the lyrics and more to the fact that these lyrics are well done compared to others that are out there.
Asgore is probably one of the most tragic characters in the game. He let his emotions control his thoughts and ended up bringing about a decree that he later wanted out of, but felt it was too late. This really brings out his character as he fights the final child needed for his promise of freedom to be fulfilled.

Oh yeah, you see so little of him since you only encounter Asgore at the game's finale, but when you really dig into his lore and story, there's so much there that it's a real shame he couldn't get more focus.

Asgore was facing an extremely stressful ethical dilemma for attempt to kill a child for his kin.
While he keeps silence for the fight, this high pitch vocal will able to express his unbearable agony during that battle.

His song fits him perfectly. It's regal, but also sad. In a way, it tells his story through the music. A song of a broken king.

Damn, that's so flippin poetic, and it perfectly encapsulates Asgore's struggle. He doesn't want to fight, he didn't want to kill the humans, but he had to. In one day, his life fell apart, and in a moment of rage, he declared war. When he realized his mistake, there was no turning back, and he had to keep going. He had to do all he didn't want for the greater good.
Toby Fox, you better give Asgore his redemption.
I feel like the Asgore should get more love from the fandom than what he got in comparison to other characters. He is surprisingly a decently deep character.

The "Am I a siege or a murderer" part gave me the chills, loved the musicality on that part, the words too. AND THE ENDING, HOLY SHIT, SUCH POWER. SUCH EPICITY. I had shivers running down my spine, such powerful voice and music was not meant for us mortals.

It's actually "[a] SAGE or [a] murderer" - which is a genius line, as the name "Dreemurr" is an anagram of "Murderer" (which was DEFINITELY intended by Toby Fox), and "Asgore" is also an anagram of "sage or" (which Toby Fox might not even have intended), making "Asgore" "Dreemurr" an anagram of "Sage, or" "Murderer".

Caleb's voice is gorgeous and I like this a lot! But if Undertale was a rock opera I would make Asgore a Baritone or Bass. But as Asriel in the Pacifist route, this vocal type is utter perfection.
The reason I love Caleb as a cover artist, is cause he doesn't just cover songs, he tries to put his own spin on it! Another amazing piece Caleb, please keep it up!
This is my favorite theme in undertale, and the fact that you remade it so well is great..
This song is my favorite because it tells stories. Asgore is supposed to be the final boss in the game, after beating him you are free to go home. But, this theme actually makes you wanna spare him. He doesn't WANT to do this, he NEEDS to do it. He was reminded of the cruel ways of humans when he lost his son to them, and decided to free all the monsters. This was his only option, he even sacrificed his queen for it. Now, you stand before him , and this theme plays....
It is the same as Toriel's theme. You understand now, why Goatma warned you about him..

I've heard too many Undertale covers to know this is the best. It's been years since I heard it and it still gives me goosebumps. Ri-CHAD has the best Undertale metal covers and Caleb's voice is perfect (in other covers with more views the voice doesn't sound so good with the base). And by God, the lyrics are another level, you notice the tragedy of Asgore. The three parts that make a good cover (base, voice and lyrics) are perfect ♡

To be a leader, to do anything for the sake of your people. What use is it survive, when the means of doing so are through the demise of others? As well as any other unspeakable acts of so called "sacrifice"? What use is any of it, if in the process, you turn into a true monster?
Simple, your people will stay alive. They will be safe and free. Sometimes sacrifices ARE necessary. But do not forget, in the end the memories you made will be worthwhile, they will make your people smile.
Thouse sacrifice you mention isnt exactly the point
It's about putting them before yourself, every single time. Without that sacrifice of your "humanity" things will never improve for them, It will only grow more dreary as time progresses, if you do not act someone else will someday. So in order for them to prosper you must become the very crewture they feared you to be, in order to prevent another monster like himself from arising.
That sacrifice isn't just for their happiness, that sacrifice is to lessen further pain in the future... His time for joy has already come to an abbrupt end, so why not give up what semblance he still has left of his humanity in order to protect whats left

Asgore is my favorite antivillain. He lost he son after adopting a child from the same people who condemned his entire race.
His wife left him when he needed her tenderness the most. He dedicated the rest of his existence to purely being the king of his people, and freeing them. Devoting both body and soul. Violating his own conscience in the worst ways. In the end, he won't acept your mercy because inwardly he died a long time ago, and he just wants his nightmare to end. Whether by freeing his people, or being freed from the burden of his people via death.
